Big Weekend Of T.V Boxing Ahead For U.K Fight Fans – And One Writer’s Pre-Fight Predictions

Big Weekend Of T.V Boxing Ahead For U.K Fight Fans And One Writers Pre Fight PredictionsFight fans in the UK are in for a huge night of televised boxing this coming Saturday night/early Sunday morning – those fans who have access to BoxNation and Sky Sports especially, although there will be terrestrial action on Channel 5.

BoxNation have secured the rights to the third instalment of the Marco Huck-Ola Afolabi series, which will take place in Berlin, Germany. Then, in the early hours of Sunday morning, BoxNation viewers will be able to tune in to the anticipated thriller that is Marcos Maidana Vs. Josesito Lopez, the action coming from Carson, California. This card also features the WBA interim title fight between light-middleweights Erislandy Lara and Alfredo Angulo.

My Prediction For Germany:

Afolabi to finally bag a win, this time via late stoppage over Huck, a fighter who has had some punishing schedule of late and looks to be showing wear and tear as a result. Afolabi by late rounds TKO.

My Predictions For California:

Maidana to wear down and stop an always-game Lopez in the middle rounds of a largely one-sided yet exciting fight. Lara to nullify Angulo’s power and win a clear decision.

Sky Sports, meanwhile, will televise live the Chad Dawson-Adonis Stevenson WBC light-heavyweight clash from Montreal, Canada. There is special British interest here as Tony Bellew will face Saturday’s winner. The Canadian card also features the thrilling Yuriorkis Gamboa in action against fellow unbeaten Darley Perez.

My Predictions For Canada:

Stevenson to arrive on the world stage with a bang; via spectacular early rounds KO! Gamboa to win via wide decision (if this fight goes ahead, what with Perez’ reported visa issues).

And finally, UK fight fans, Channel 5 will show the James DeGale-Stjepan Bozic bout live from Kent. Unbeaten prospects Chris Eubank Jr and Kid Galahad will also be in action.

My Prediction For UK:

DeGale to win this showcase in style, via mid-rounds stoppage, if not earlier.

It promises to be a marathon night of boxing on T.V for all UK boxing fans!
