WBA #5 middleweight Jarrod Fletcher (14-1, 8 KOs) headlines a six fight card this Friday night at the Grand Star Receptions, Altona North, Victoria, Australia.

Fletcher, 29, has positioned himself as one of the leading middleweights in Australia, clearly Australia’s leading division on the world scale, led by IBF champion Daniel Geale, Sam Soliman and Anthony Mundine.

With a top 5 ranking in the WBA, Fletcher is within striking distance at positioning himself for a world title eliminator bout and will continue on this path should he impress this Friday night. Fletcher takes battle against Filipino, Randy Suico (31-8-1, 26 KOs) in a defence of Fletchers’ PABA middleweight title. Suico has the attributes of a dangerous fighter with an excellent knockout ratio and is best known for contesting Juan Diaz for his WBA lightweight title in 2006 and at once stage, possessed a 21-0 record.

However, Suico’s best days have been at the super featherweight and lightweight ranks and his performances at light welterweight and above have been very inconsistent, winning only three of his past eight fights. Fletcher, a 2008 olympian, is expected to win comfortably and consolidate his position in the WBA top five.

Other bouts on the night include welterweight Tim Hunt (14-3, 5 KOs) taking on Robert Whaley (7-7-2, 4 KOs) for Hunt’s PABA welterweight title and Andrew Wallace (9-1-1, 5 KOs) and Terry Tzouramanis (8-1-3, 2 KOs) do battle for the vacant Victoria State light welterweight title.

Promoter is Adam Wilcock of Fight Card Promotions.
