The 2013 USA Boxing National Championships Culminate with 27 Final Round Bouts on Saturday

(SPOKANE, WASH.) – A full week of outstanding boxing action across five newly created divisions culminated with 27 final round contests on Saturday at Northern Quest’s Pend Oreille Pavilion on Saturday in Spokane, Wash. Saturday’s two sessions of Olympic-style boxing competition featured championship bouts in the elite men’s and women’s divisions as well as nine senior men’s contests. Continue reading

Thirteen Young Boxers Win National Titles as the Elite Men Advance on to Their Own Championship Night

(SPOKANE, WASH.) – Friday marked championship night for 26 young boxers vying for a first-ever youth division title at the 2013 USA Boxing National Championships in Spokane, Wash. The event moved venues to the Northern Casino Resort & Casino on Friday with elite men’s action being contested on Friday afternoon and the youth division finals taking over the ring in evening competition. A Full Day of Quarterfinal Bouts Highlights the Third Day of USA Boxing National Championships Competition

(SPOKANE, WASH.) – Just over six months after the Olympic debut of women’s boxing, the elite women’s division claimed the spotlight on the fourth day of competition at the 2013 USA Boxing National Championships in Spokane, Wash. With only three weight divisions being contested in Olympic action in London, several of the United States’ top female athletes were forced to move to different weight divisions following the Olympic Team Trials and many of them enjoyed success in their new weight divisions. While 2012 Olympian Queen Underwood (Seattle, Wash.) competed for a finals berth against a former national team staple, reigning World Champion Tiara Brown (Hyattsville, Md.) and the top light welterweight in the world Mikaela Mayer (Los Angeles, Calif.) faced off on the opposite side of the bracket. Seventeen Historic Olympic Trials for Women’s Boxing Participants to Return to Spokane for the 2013 USA Boxing National Championships

(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) – The 24 female athletes who competed in the first-ever U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Women’s Boxing will always hold their own place in boxing and Olympic history and 17 of those ladies are returning to Northern Quest Resort & Casino and Spokane, Wash., for the 2013 USA Boxing National Championships, April 1-6. The roster of women slated to compete in Spokane boasts a fantastic list of nationally and internationally experienced athletes. All three female Olympians are back in 2013, including gold medalist Claressa Shields (Flint, Mich.) and bronze medalist Marlen Esparza (Houston, Texas). Over 475 Athletes Register for the 2013 USA Boxing National Championships, April 1-6, in Spokane, Washington

(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) – Registration for the 2013 USA Boxing National Championships, April 1-6, in Spokane, Wash., is complete and 478 athletes have entered the United States’ premier Olympic-style boxing event. Five divisions of action will be contested at the 2013 USA Boxing National Championships with the elite men boasting the most competitors with 185 registered athletes. The 10 winners in the men’s elite division will advance to the 2013 AIBA Men’s World Championships. Continue reading
