Hall: ‘The Knockdown Was The Difference’

Stuart Hall proved his world class credentials by giving Golden Boy star Randy Caballero the fight of his life in Monte Carlo last night (October 25).

Hobson: “Hall vs. Caballero is the best fight on UK TV this weekend”

Promoter Dennis Hobson believes Saturday night’s (October 25) IBF world bantamweight title fight between Stuart Hall and Randy Caballero will steal the show on what is a packed weekend for televised boxing in the United Kingdom.

Darlington’s Hall and Californian Caballero meet live on Channel 5 from 8.30pm. Also on the show from Monte Carlo are middleweight fights between St. Helens’ WBC Silver champion Martin Murray and Domenico Spada, and Trowbridge’s Nick Blackwell and Belarusian dangerman Sergey Khomitsky. Programming concludes at 11pm. Continue reading

Former two-time champion and MC Brian Mitchell attempts to broker the peace between Stuart Hall, right, and Randy Caballero

Monaco, October 24 – A slanging match between American Randy Caballero and England’s Stuart Hall was the highlight of an otherwise incident-free weigh-in at the Monte Carlo Casino ahead of Saturday’s “Title Tornado” tournament.

Stuart Hall: ‘I’ll Repay Hobson’s Faith’

Darlington’s Stuart Hall has promised to repay the faith shown in him by promoter Dennis Hobson by becoming a two-time world champion.

Former IBF world bantamweight champion Hall lost his crown in his second defence after a split-decision reverse to Ellesmere Port’s Paul Butler in June.

With Butler subsequently moving down in weight, and Hobson beating off the purse-bid challenge from Stateside promoters Golden Boy, ‘Stuey’ will now face American Randy Caballero for the vacant title on home turf later this year. Continue reading

Hobson Pulls Off Master-Stroke

In a major coup for British boxing, Yorkshire’s Dennis Hobson has beaten off the challenge from top American promoters Golden Boy to secure home advantage for Stuart Hall as he attempts to reclaim the IBF world bantamweight crown. Continue reading

Hobson: ‘Judging Has Cost Stuart Hall His Title’

“Boxing is the winner tonight,” said promoter Dennis Hobson after Stuart Hall and Paul Butler put on a sensational fight at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena (June 7).

Hall, making the second defence of his IBF bantamweight crown, faced Ellesmere Port’s Butler in front of a feverish crowd, and the contest lived up to all the pre-fight hype, albeit with an ultimately controversial verdict.

Darlington’s Hall, the bigger of the two, looked to impose his strength and appeared to land the bigger shots during the battle, often knocking Paul’s head back with jabs. Continue reading
