Claggett Retains Canadian Welterweight Title Against Brosch

On Friday, April 3, Teofista Promotions presented another exciting evening of professional boxing at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino in Calgary, Alberta. In the main event, hometown Canadian welterweight champion Steve “The Dragon” Claggett (21-3-1, 14KOs) successfully defended his title against former champion Tebor Brosch (7-7-5, 2KOs) of Mississauga, Ontario. After ten vicious rounds of fighting, Claggett was declared the winner by unanimous decision, earning scores of 99-91, 99-91, and 97-93. “I respect Brosch,” said Claggett. “He came to fight just like we knew he would. I’m happy to still be champion and plan on keeping this title for a long time.” Promoter Eric De Guzman was no less excited with the win. “Steve showed everyone he’s the top welterweight in the country,” said De Guzman. “Very few boxers have done so well against Brosch. Claggett will meet tough-as-nails Mexican prospect Felipe De la Paz Teniente (15-3-1, 6KOs) over the eight round route.
