United States national amateur champion for 2012 Santos Vasquez of Reno, Nev., headlines a professional boxing card presented by Pochiro Boxing Promotions, “Throwdown at Sam’s Town—Round 1,” Friday, Dec. 6, at Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Las Vegas, Nev.

Vasquez brothers both win

August 27th, Fallon, NV — At the fifth annual “Fallon Fights: Rural Rumble ‘12” Oscar and Santos “Titos” Vasquez scored impressive wins. Presented by the City of Fallon, Nevada “The Oasis of Nevada”, and Let’s Get It On Promotions, “Fallon Fights” again delivered exciting boxing action on Saturday night.

Jr. flyweight Titos Vasquez scored his first professional win over a game Richard Hernandez. The 2012 Olympic alternate forced the action while Hernandez attempted to counter. All three judges scored the fight 40-36.

The elder Vasquez brother, Oscar, earned his third professional win against Edwin Reyes in a six-round. jr. flyweight bout. This was Oscar’s first fight at 108 lbs, but losing the extra weight had no effect on his ability. Vasquez pressured the crafty Reyes early, and subsequently forced great action late in the fight.
