ESPN “Friday Night Fights” Round Up: Petrov Dominates Diaz & Shelestyuk Cruises by Rodriguez

Lightweight standout Petr Petrov (36-4-2, 16 KOs) made a strong case for a future world title shot with his one-sided, unanimous decision win against former world champion Gamaliel Diaz (39-12-3, 18 KOs) in the main event of ESPN’s “Friday Night Fights” from the Omega Products Outdoor Arena in Corona, Calif. ORANGE, Calif. (April 2, 2015) – Boxcino 2014 Lightweight Champion Petr Petrov (35-4-2, 16 KOs) faces former world champion Gamaliel Diaz (39-11-3, 18 KOs) tomorrow night in a 10-round fight that will headline an ESPN “Friday Night Fights” card from the Omega Products Outdoor Arena in Corona, Calif.

Petrov to Meet Former Junior Lightweight Titlist Diaz on ESPN Friday Night Fights and Noche de Combates

Boxcino 2014 lightweight tournament winner and former junior welterweight world title challenger Petr “El Zar” Petrov (35-4-2, 16 KOs) will meet former junior lightweight titlist Gamaliel “El Platano” Diaz (39-11-3, 18 KOs) in the 10-round lightweight main event on the April 3 edition of ESPN Friday Night Fights presented by Corona Extra and ESPN Deportes’ Noche de Combates presentado por Corona Extra. Friday’s show from the Omega Products Center in Corona, Calif., will air live at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2, broadband Spanish-language ESPN Deportes+ and WatchESPN. On Friday night, January 16, 2015, the two champions from the Boxcino 2014 tournament will be featured in co-main events as part of an ESPN Friday Night Fights telecast at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.

Petrov and Monroe Jr. win Boxcino, NABA and NABO titles

PHILADELPHIA (MAY 27, 2014)–Petr Petrov and Willie Monroe Jr. won the Boxcino 2014 lightweight and middleweight tournaments respectively as Petrov stopped Fernando Carcamo in round 8, while Monroe pounded a 10-round unanimous decision over Brandon Adams at the Turning Stone Resort Casino.

Also in the process, Petrov and Monroe Jr. each took home the NABA and NABO titles as well.

Boxcino 2014 Finals now for NABA & NABO titles

Verona, NY (May 21, 2014)–Once again the stakes have been raised for this Friday night’s Boxcino 2014 championship bouts.

When the tournament began it was known that the fighters would be competing for the Boxcino championship belt. Now two more belts will be on the line as the NABA and the NABO belts will be up for grabs when lightweights Fernando Carcamo and Petr Petrov do battle while in the middleweight finals it will be undefeated Brandon Adams taking on Willie Monroe Jr. will square off for the three titles.
