By BoxingBet.pl – Reputable trainer Manvel Gabirelyan who is known for his work with the former two-time WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev, wasn’t impressed by Alexander Povetkin’s last win over American veteran Hasim Rahman (50-8-2, 41 KO). The Armenia-born coach also believes that it’s definitely too early for Povetkin to face the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO champion, Wladimir Klitschko (58-3, 51 KO).
– Povetkin’s opponent was just a punching bag for one round. There was no Rahman in the ring, there were only his first name and last name. Povetkin’s punch is still the same – sharp and immediate, but Alexander has not been tested yet and one should to find all broken parts in this machine. I’m convinced that his Kostya Tszyu will do it. I had watched Atlas’ work before the Chagaev fight, and recently I was watching Tszyu’s work before the Rahman fight.
