Lopez vs Garcia Officials Announced

lopez-marquez5SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Organization (WBO), by president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, announced today the referee and judges who will work this Saturday, June 15, in the featherweight world title fight between the champion Miguel Angel “Mikey” Garcia and former two time world champion Juan Manuel “Juanma” Lopez, to be held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, USA, in a Top Rank presentation and broadcast on HBO.

For this fight when Mikey Garcia (31-0, 26 KOs), from California, will defend for the first time his WBO featherweight belt against the Puerto Rican Juanma Lopez (33-2, 30 KOs), the #4 ranked by the WBO in the 126 pounds division, the referee will be Rafael Ramos, from United States.

Meanwhile, the judges for the Garcia-Lopez bout are Levi Martinez, from New Mexico, Javier Alvarez, from Texas, and Oren Shellenberger, from Texas.

The WBO supervisor for this fight will be Rafael López Santos.

lopez-marquez5Former two division world champion Juan Manuel Lopez (33-2, 30 KO’s) could be the sacrificial lamb for WBO featherweight champion Mikey Garcia (31-0, 26 KO’s) to slaughter this Saturday, June 15th at the American Airlines Center, in Dallas, Texas, USA.

Although anything is possible for this fight, it just looks like Juanma will be the lamb being brought into slaughter for the young, 25-year-old Mikey to tear apart to add a name to his resume. Lopez isn’t that much older than Mikey at 29, but he’s had a lot of hard fights and he’s lost two out of his last five fights. Continue reading

The Puerto Rico Professional Boxing Comision held today it seven day weigh in for Juanma Lopez (33-2, 30 KOs), who was supposed to weighed a 132.3 pounds maximum- 5% over the featherweight limit, but he weighed 130 ½ pounds. Continue reading

The fight will be televised live on HBO Boxing After Dark®, beginning at 10:45 p.m. ET/PT. This will be the first time HBO has televised a boxing event from the American Airlines Center.
