Michael Zerafa extended his unbeaten record to 15-0, 7 KOs, with a clear cut points decision victory over Joe Read (9-14-1, 4 KOs) at the Malvern Town Hall, Melbourne, Australia on Friday night.

Showing terrific speed and movement, Zerafa looked quite at ease keeping Rea at bay throughout the eight round bout, with the scorecards reading 79-73, 79-73, 80-72. However, at no stage a stoppage victory looked likely with the tough Rea always coming forward to engage in battle, but unable to land continuous attacks on the promising Victorian. Continue reading

Michael Zerafa Scrapes Past Rey Anton Olarte to Claim 2013 Bob Rose Cup

Undefeated light middleweight Michael “Pretty Boy” Zerafa (11-0, 5 KOs) suffered a major scare en route to defeating Rey Anton Olarte (17-23-8, 4 KOs) via unanimous decision last night to capture the 2013 Bob Rose Cup at the Malvern Town Hall, Melbourne, Australia.

In the biggest test of his career to date, Zerafa suffered a devastating knockdown in round three to Sydneysider Olarte, which had Zerafa on wobbly legs and lucky to survive the count. Olarte’s southpaw style and awkward angles caused great difficulty for Zerafa in the early rounds, but the knockdown seemed to spur him into action where he rebounded strongly across the middle rounds. By Srithar Visuasam: On Friday night, Melbourne fight fans were entertained by an eight fight card at the Malvern Town Hall, Melbourne, Australia hosted by Peter Maniatis Promotions. The card hosted three title bouts in front of a capacity crowd.

In the main event, unbeaten Michael Zerafa (8-0, 4 KOs) took on David Galvin (4-5-3, 1 KO) for the vacant WBC Asia Council Continental light middleweight title. The fight lived up to its main event billing with Zerafa entertaining the crowd with his thrilling flurries of quick punches, which always looked likely to stop the ever moving forward Galvin in his tracks.
