Manuel Avila to Now Face Erik Ruiz in Main Event on May 7

Golden Boy Promotions will bring another night of electrifying fights back to the beautiful Belasco Theater on Thursday, May 7 in the highly anticipated third installment of its monthly hit series LA FIGHT CLUB, live on FOX Sports 1 and airing on May 8 on FOX Deportes. In the main event of the night, Manuel “Tino” Avlia (16-0, 7 KOs) will take on Mexican-American fighter Erik Ruiz (13-2, 6 KOs) in a 10-round super bantamweight bout. Ruiz will replace previously announced main event fighter Rolly Lunas, who had to withdraw from the fight due to a severe injury. Continue reading

In the Golden Boy Live! main event on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes, top junior featherweight prospect Manuel “Tino” Avila puts his undefeated record on the line against Mexico’s Sergio “Finito” Frias. In the co-main event, it’s an eight-round heavyweight showdown when unbeaten Gerald “El Gallo” Washington faces veteran standout Nagy Aguilera. (July 31) – For the first time in two years, top junior featherweight prospect Manuel “Tino” Avila will compete in his hometown of Fairfield, Calif. at the Allan Witt Sports Center and puts his undefeated record on the line in the FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes’ Golden Boy Live! main event against Mexico’s Sergio “Finito” Frias on Friday, August 22.
