Malik Scott: Chisora’s a salesman

YouTube video
Unbeaten American heavyweight Malik Scott (35-0-1, 12 KO’s) sees British heavyweight Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) as mainly a marketing fighter that is best as selling his fights rather than in performing in them. Scott notes that Chisora was able to get a title shot against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko with only 17 fights under his belt last year. Scott and Chisora will be fighting this Saturday night at the Wembley Arena in London, UK.

Scott said to BoxNation “He’s [Chisora] a salesman. It’s all calculated. He knows what he’s doing. It’s worked for him. I don’t know anybody that had 16 fights and was fighting for the Championship of the World. When you’re in with me you’re dealing with a lot of different attributes. We know about what he’s coming with. He’s coming right at me. I’m going to be setting traps and I’m going to be tagging him…if Dereck wants to f*** all his money up and act stupid, it’s on him. F*** his antics!”

Malik Scott says he’ll demolish Dereck Chisora

YouTube video
Malik Scott says he’ll demolish Dereck Chisora this Saturday night in more devastating style than fellow countryman Tony Thompson who destroyed David Price.

Chisora clashes with his American rival at Wembley Arena with the Vacant WBO International Heavyweight title on the line, live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546).

Price was smashed in five rounds by Thompson in the rematch earlier this month and Scott is confident he can bash the controversial Finchley puncher.

“I saw the fight between Thompson and Price and I knew that Thompson would do it again second time round, it was a great accomplishment, he’s a good, strong heavyweight,” Said Scott.

Chisora: I’m going to do a number on Malik Scott and pack him off to America

scott35Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) has a tough fight on his hands against undefeated American heavyweight Malik Scott (35-0-1, 12 KO’s) this Saturday night in London, UK. The fight is scheduled for 10 rounds instead of 12, so that’s something that could possibly help Chisora because he’s not going to be able to out-box a fighter like Scott.

Chisora believes it’s going to be a fairly easy fight, but his recent performances don’t suggest that’s possible.

Chisora said to the Telegraph, “I’m going to do a real good job on this boy and pack him back off to America, defeated…I’m happy now that I’ve looked into his eyes and I see the boy is scared.”

Dereck Chisora vs. Malik Scott & Frampton vs. Briceno this Saturday, July 20th in London

scott33British heavyweight Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) will be trying to turn around his struggling career this Saturday night in a scheduled 10 round bout against unbeaten American Malik Scott (35-0-1, 12 KO’s) at the Wembley Arena in London, England. Scott, 32, is the world class contender in this fight, while Chisora is a 2nd tier fighter trying to turn his career around after having lost four out of his last five fights.

You can ignore Chisora’s loss to WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, because he’s a really good fighter, but Chisora’s losses to Robert Helenius, David Haye and Tyson Fury shows that Chisora is a level below those fighters in the talent department.

Malik Scott: “Malik “King” Scott is the Best Skilled Heavyweight on the Planet Bar None and I Believe Vitali’s Time is Up and I Have No Problem Putting Him Out His Misery”

YouTube video
Exclusive interview by Charles C. White

Well Malik, I won’t ask you how you’re doing after your recent draw with Glazkov as I think most will agree that you were robbed of a seemingly clear cut victory. Give us your thoughts on this poor decision my friend?

MS: It is what it is bro…shit happens in boxing the same way it does in life…the judges saw it the way they saw it and that’s that. As long as the fans and my family saw it I’m perfectly fine with that…the milk is spilled and I’m extremely too blessed and too talented to cry over it.

What do you think was the key factor in your ability to dictate the fight against Glazkov?

MS: Well it was one main thing…and that was I just was myself. Glazkov is a good fighter and I believe his future is still a bright one but he’s just not in the same league as me, period!

Malik Scott: “I’m in awesome shape and I’m ready to go put my hands on Glazkov this week”

Malik Scott Pic1Exclusive Interview by Charles C. White

How’s it going Malik?

What’s up bro? Everything is great. I’m in awesome shape and I’m ready to go put my hands on Glazkov this week.

So you’re scheduled to fight Vyacheslav Glazkov on February 23rd. How are your preparations going ahead of this bout?

My preparation for this fight was very intensely simple if you understand what I mean by that. But if you don’t, what it mean is whatever hurt the most I did the most. Everything that is considered a so-called weakness of mine I did it repetitiously until all the jagged edges was smoothed out. The product is done and now I cannot wait for the world to see “King” Scott this upcoming Saturday.

A Period of Transition in the Heavyweight Division

547By Michael Montero – This Saturday will be an important one in the heavyweight landscape, featuring big step up bouts for prospects from three different parts of the world. In Huntington, New York, American Malik Scott (35-0) faces Ukrainian Vyacheslav Glazkov (14-0), while on the other side of the pond; Englishman David Price (15-0) squares off against American veteran Tony Thompson (36-3) in Liverpool. For Scott, a pro since 2000 who’s been ridiculed for never stepping up, it’s the moment of truth. For Glazkov, a bronze medalist in the 2008 Beijing games, this is his second straight bout on American airwaves and easily the biggest test in his short pro career. And for Price, the 6’8” giant (himself a former bronze medalist), an empathic win over Thompson puts him on the fast track for an eventual title shot.

This is a microcosm of things to come. Things are changing in the heavyweight division. New history is being written, yet old history is being repeated. It’s all part of a cycle: weak, average and strong eras – with the occasional golden era sprinkled in every few generations – only to collapse and repeat again. One could argue that the years following Lennox Lewis’ retirement were an average era, with quality fighters like Chris Byrd, Lamon Brewster, Hasim Rahman, Andrew Golota, both Klitschkos and several others, but no clear owner of the division. In recent years we’ve suffered through a weak era, with the Klitschko brothers having cleaned out the entire division and seemingly no willing, proven, legitimate challenge for the alpha dogs. Yet things are shaping up to start getting pretty damn interesting over the next few years, and fans all over the world are getting excited.

Malik Scott: “I’m Looking to Fight Anybody in the Top 10….I’m Just a Phone Call and Contract Away”

Malik Scott Pic1Exclusive Interview by Charles White

Hey Malik, it’s been awhile since our last interview. How’s it going?

MS: What’s up bro? Everything is good man. I’m blessed. Just staying sharp and keeping myself in great shape.

Last time out, you beat Bowie Tupou decisively, securing a solid win and a step in the right direction. Fellow undefeated heavyweight Bryant Jennings also just defeated Tupou on NBC Sports. Compare and contrast your win over Tupou with Jennings’.

MS: Well that’s an easy comparison, I beat Bowie with one hand and he quit from a so-called arm injury or some other coward-ass excuse he came up with. Bryant Jennings got off the canvas and iced him in 5 rounds and looked good doing it. Bowie made history by getting his ass whipped by two Philly fighters in the same year. I don’t think that ever happened to any other heavyweight in boxing history.

Both you and Jennings are Philly guys as you know. Have you ever sparred each other, and if so, how competitive was it?
