Garcia vs. Morales II, Malignaggi vs. Cano tickets go on sale tomorrow for October 20th card

BROOKLYN (August 28, 2012)… Tickets for the much anticipated return of world championship boxing to Brooklyn go on sale TOMORROW, Wednesday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m. ET/7:00 a.m. PT. The stacked October 20 event will be the first boxing event to take place at the brand new, state-of-the-art Barclays Center in Brooklyn and features an exciting matchup between unbeaten Danny “Swift” Garcia who will be defending his WBA Super, WBC & Ring Magazine Super Lightweight World Championships against the legendary Mexican warrior and future Hall of Famer Erik “El Terrible” Morales. In the co-featured fight, Brooklyn’s own Paulie “Magic Man” Malignaggi risks his World Boxing Association (WBA) Welterweight World Championship against hard-hitting Pablo Cesar “El Demoledor” Cano.

The night will also feature a star-studded line-up of New York’s top talents including New York’s undefeated Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin, Brooklyn’s hot middleweight prospect Daniel “The Golden Child” Jacobs, former World Champion Luis Collazo, the Bronx’s rising star Eddie Gomez, former title contender Dmitriy Salita and Brooklyn prospect Boyd Melson.

Malignaggi defends his WBA title against light welterweight Cano on October 20th

By Michael Collins: You can make a strong argument that WBA World welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (31-4, 7 KO’s) is milking his World Boxing Association title by taking on light welterweight Pablo Cesar Cano (25-1-1, 19 KO’s) next on October 20th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. With all the potential welterweights for the 31-year-old Malignaggi to choose from to defend his 147 pound title, he chose a light welterweight contender in 22-year-old Cano to defend his title against.
