Klitschko vs Huck
Cruiserweight “Fast” Eddie Chambers: “Marco Huck should worry about defending his title…not Wladimir Klitschko”
By Joseph Herron: This past week, WBO Cruiserweight title holder Marco Huck publicly announced his $5 Million proposal to universally recognized Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko before stepping in the ring with 42 year old title challenger Firat Arslan on Saturday, November 3rd, in Nordhein-Westfalen, Germany.
But moments after getting past the experienced former title holder uncomfortably, former Heavyweight title challenger and newly proclaimed Cruiserweight contender “Fast” Eddie Chambers from Philadelphia, PA, USA, had several comments regarding the reigning WBO Champ’s recent activity.
“First of all, struggling with an experienced former title holder really doesn’t incriminate or diminish Marco Huck as a Cruiserweight Champion,” insists the 30 year old American hopeful. “Anyone can give you fits on any given night at this level.” Continue reading
The big Cruiserweight Title Fight between current WBO-Champion Marco Huck and challenger Firat Arslan in Halle/Westphalia, Germany, is just days away. But already Kalle Sauerland and event organizer Ralf Weber are working on the next Mega-Fight. After Henry Maske, Axel Schulz and Marco Huck 36-year-old Wladimir Klitschko could be the next big name to appear at the Gerry Weber Stadion. The offer to the Heavyweight World Champion: 5 Mio. Euros! Wladimir’s opponent: Marco Huck!
But why? Kalle Sauerland: “Bernd Boente, Klitschko’s manager, has been talking to Marco directly about the possibility of fighting Klitschko. Now we have used the official channels to approach them with an offer.” And the Klitschko-Camp did not take long to respond. After just 20 minutes they declined the offer! “Of course, we are now excepting them to come up with a counter offer. We are always willing to hold personal talks to discuss the terms for such a fight. Then we will see if they will actually put their money where their mouth is. We definitely want to make this fight happen.”
Klitschko versus Huck – perhaps the fight the heavyweight division has been waiting for. “We have been working with the Sauerlands for 18 years now and been hosting great fight nights at the Gerry Weber Stadion. A fight between Huck and Klitscko would be the absolute highlight. We will do everything possible to make this fight happen,” said Ralf Weber, General Manager of the Gerry Weber Stadion.
Weber and Sauerland have come up with a financial plan to support the Mega-Fight. Weber: “We have made a serious offer to the Klitschko-Management, which we believe should make everyone involved happy.” Continue reading
