Xcite Fight Promotions are delighted to announce the signing of former European Middleweight champion Kerry Hope. The proud Welshman recently relocated to Brisbane and is under the tutelage of Gareth Williams. Sporting a record of 20 wins and 7 defeats, he has his sights firmly set on the Pacific region’s top Middleweights. “Firstly, I’m very happy to have signed with Xcite Fight Promotions. I am looking forward to the next chapter in my career. I’d like a couple of fights to just shake off the rust and then move onto fights that can be easily made, such as Les Sherrington, Gunnar Jackson and Jarrod Fletcher. ‘Welsh Pride’ – Professional Boxing Show

The Weigh In for ‘Welsh Pride’ will be 3pm at Merthyr Leisure Centre Thursday 20th March. Tickets still available to what promises to be a great night of professional boxing, bringing Welsh boxing back to it’s roots.

Former European champ Kerry Hope will look to get his career back on track, and exorcise the memory of his 2012 KO defeat to Darren Barker, when he boxes on the undercard of the English super-featherweight title fight between Jon Kays and Kevin Hooper at the Oldham Sports Centre on October 5.

Darren Barker defeats Kerry Hope

By Michael Collins: Former middleweight title challenger Darren Barker (24-1, 15 KO’s) had too much power and class for the overmatched Kerry Hope (18-5, 1 KO’s) in stopping him in the 4th round at the Olympia, in London, England. Barker knocked Hope down in the 4th with a nice right uppercut and then was looking to finish him off on the ropes when Hope’s corner threw in the towel to halt the fight. Continue reading
