Ivan Redkach Blasts Yakubu Amidu In First ShoBox: The New Generation Of 2015

Undefeated prospect Ivan Redkach (18-0, 14 KOs) was impressive in a sixth-round knockout victory over Yakubu Amidu (19-6-2, 17 KOs), who failed to get off his stool following the sixth round in Friday’s main event of ShoBox: The New Generation from Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa in Cabazon, Calif.

Working for the first time with new trainer Robert Garcia, Redkach, of Los Angeles by way of Ukraine, started out slow as he found his range, with the durable Amidu handling his power in the opening rounds. Amidu, of Los Angeles by way of Ghana, started slow but picked up the pace in the fourth and then was docked a point by referee Ray Corona for repeated low blows in the fifth. Continue reading

Redkach grinds out ugly win over Gulyakevich Kielczweski improves to 20-0 with grueling unanimous decision victory over Luna

St. Charles, MO (6/28/14) – Earlier tonight at the beautiful Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa in St. Charles, MO, world-rated lightweight contender (IBF #8/WBC #9) Ivan Redkach improved his record to a perfect 17-0, 13KO’s, with an ugly 10-round unanimous decision over former title challenger Sergey Gulyakevich (41-3, 17KO’s).

Redkach, who is widely considered to be one of the most promising young fighters in all of boxing, was forced to go the distance for the second consecutive bout as Gulyakevich seemed to be more content on holding and tying Redkach up rather than looking to engage. Continue reading

All of the fighters for tomorrow nights ESPN’s Friday Night Fights/ESPN Deportes’ Noche de Combates card weighed in earlier today at the Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa in St. Charles, MO.

 

 

 

The card, promoted by DiBella Entertainment and Rumble Time Promotions, in association with Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing, is headlined by red-hot lightweight contender Ivan “El Terribel” Redkach (right in photo) (16-0, 13KO’s) putting his undefeated record on the line against former title challenger Sergey “The Surgeon” Gulyakevich (41-2, 17KO’s) in the 10-round main event of the evening.

 

 

 

In the eight-round co-feature bout, WBA #11-rated junior lightweight Ryan Kielczweski (left in photo) (19-0, 4KO’s) puts his undefeated record on the line against once-beaten Ramsey Luna (12-1, 5KO’s).

 

Opening up the card will be promising hometown favorite Stephon Young (9-0, 4KO’s), from nearby St. Louis, MO, looking to improve to a perfect 10-0 when he squares off against Vicente Alfaro (6-3, 1KO) in a six-round junior featherweight showdown.
