Chatman: ‘I will massacre Biosse!’

LINCOLN, R.I. (July 2nd, 2015) — A fight nearly two years in the making will finally come to fruition Friday, July 17th, 2015 as super middleweight Vladine Biosse faces Chris Chatman in the main event of CES Boxing’s “Rhode To Redemption” show at Twin River Casino.

Those familiar with Chatman’s no-nonsense, outspoken bravado know the Jersey City native is never one to mince words. The 5-foot-8 southpaw guarantees a win over “Mr. Providence” in a fight he’s lobbied for since his most noteworthy victory at Twin River, a 2013 split-decision win over hometown favorite Thomas Falowo. Chatman Defeats Brewer

Photo courtesy of Chris Chatman — Chris Chatman dedicated his middleweight fight against Grady “Bad Boy” Brewer to his grandmother and late manager, Mark Dion, who both died this week and he did them both proud as he beat Brewer in a nonstop action packed bout, as he took over the fight after the fourth round, en route to a eight round unanimous decision victory with three scorecards, 79-73, 80-72 and 79- 73.

“My last fight against Jarrett Hurd was a robbery, so I wanted to come out and dominate this bout, which I did and to make sure that I didn`t have another bad loss, especially in my Classic Entertainment and Sports (CES) debut,” said Chatman. “Brewer is an extremely tricky fighter, so I didn`t press for a knockout, which I wanted, because he has couple of victories with late knockouts.” Continue reading

LINCOLN, R.I. (March 28th, 2014) – Chris Chatman couldn’t help but let his emotions get the best of him.

Shortly after beating Grady Brewer Friday night at Twin River Casino, a fight he dedicated to both his grandmother, who passed away this past week, and his late manager Mark Dion, who died from Lou Gehrig’s disease earlier this year, Chatman sat in his corner and cried uncontrollably, a welcomed display of humility for a fighter on the brink of stardom. PROVIDENCE, R.I. (March 27th, 2014) – The typically stoic, all-business Chris Chatman found himself star-struck at Thursday’s pre-fight weigh-in until he stood toe-to-toe with his opponent, Grady Brewer, for the first time.

“I saw that seriousness in his eyes,” Chatman said. “He looked right at me and pretty much said, ‘Motherfucker, I’m not playing.’” Continue reading
