Team USA’s Antonio Vargas and Cam F. Awesome Take Victories on Day Two of the 2015 Pan American Games

(TORONTO, CANADA) – Two American boxers scored victories in their Pan American Games debuts on Sunday at the Oshawa Centre in Toronto, Canada. Flyweight Antonio Vargas (Kissimmee, Fla.) and super heavyweight Cam F. Awesome (Lenexa, Kanas) each earned victories in the night’s action to advance in the tournament. Welterweight Brian Ceballo (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and light heavyweight Steven Nelson (Omaha, Neb.) each dropped their bouts on Sunday night. Continue reading

Marlen Esparza, Queen Underwood and Cam F. Awesome Win Pan American Olympic Festival Openers in Mexico City

(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) – Team USA is off to a great start at the 2014 Pan American Olympic Festival with three American boxers claiming opening bout wins on the first two days of competition in Mexico City. Lightweight Queen Underwood (Seattle, Wash.) and super heavyweight Cam F. Awesome (Lenexa, Kansas) each earned quarterfinal wins on Wednesday while flyweight Marlen Esparza (Houston, Texas) took a semifinal victory on Thursday in Mexico City. 2012 Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields (Flint, Mich.) while compete in her first bout of the multi-sport event on Friday in a match-up with Mexico’s Alma Ibarra. Cam F. Awesome and USA Boxing’s Olympic Trio to Compete in the 2014 Pan American Olympic Festival

(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) – Four of USA Boxing’s most internationally experienced athletes will compete in the 2014 Pan American Olympic Festival this week in Mexico City. 2012 Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields (Flint, Mich.), 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Marlen Esparza (Houston, Texas) and 2012 Olympian Queen Underwood (Seattle, Wash.) will reunite for the multi-sport event while multi-time national champion Cam F. The United States’ Cam F. Awesome is Eliminated From the 2013 Elite Men’s World Championships

(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) – Veteran super heavyweight Cam F. Awesome (Lenexa, Kansas) took on the most challenging international contest of his career in the 2013 Elite Men’s World Championships today in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Awesome faced off with reigning world champion and number one seed Magomedrasul Medzhidov of Azerbaijan in preliminary round competition. Awesome wasn’t able to upset the top ranked boxer in the world, dropping a 3-0 decision to Medzhidov at the Boluan Sholak Cultural & Sports Palace on Tuesday afternoon. Continue reading

Cam F. Awesome Advances in 2013 Elite Men’s World Championships Action

(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) – Team USA’s smallest and largest athletes both took the ring for their opening bouts of 2013 Elite Men’s World Championships action on Saturday in Almaty, Kazakhstan and the pair went one and one on the day. Super heavyweight Cam F. Awesome (Lenexa, Kansas) is the lone member of the United States’ squad to have competed in World Championships action prior to the 2013 event, and he used that experienced to his benefit in his tournament opener on Saturday. Light flyweight Leroy Davila (New Brunswick, N.J.) didn’t have the same success as Awesome in his first World Championships bout on Saturday afternoon. Continue reading
