Bruno Escalante scores brutal first round knockout agasint Lorenzo Trejo

Redwood City, CA (February 28, 2014) – Tonight at the Fox Theatre in Redwood City, on the Don Chargin and Paco Presents boxing show, International Boxing Association (IBA) Super Flyweight Champion, Bruno “The Aloha Kid” Escalante (12-1-1, 6 KOs), scored a brutal 1st round knockout against, veteran Lorenzo Trejo (33-29-1, 20 KOs).

Escalante used his speed and quickness while throwing punches off peculiar angels before the violent knockout happened. It was a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head that sent the Mexican down for the count. Continue reading

Q & A with IBA Super Flyweight Champion Bruno Escalante

REDWOOD CITY, CA (February 18, 2014) – With less than a couple of weeks away from his 2014 debut, IBA Super-Flyweight champion, Bruno Escalante (11-1-1, 5 KOs) talks about his training camp, being awarded 2013 Nor-Cal Fighter of the Year, and his upcoming fight against Lorenzo Trejo (33-28-1, 20 KOs) at Fox Theatre in Redwood City, California, February 28th.

How has training camp coming along?

Bruno: Everything is going great. I have a fabulous team of coaches I’m surrounded by on a daily basis. My boxing coach Brian Schwartz and strength and conditioning mentor Mike Bazzel are pushing me every day. Sprint coach Remi Korchemny is working on my explosion. Bruno Escalante Headlines Boxing’s Return to the Historic Fox Theatre in Redwood City

Redwood City, CA (February 5, 2014) – Newly crowned International Boxing Association (IBA) Super Flyweight Champion, Bruno “The Aloha Kid” Escalante (11-1-1, 5 KOs), from Redwood City, CA by way of Cebu, Philippines, will make his 2014 debut in a non title defense on Friday, February 28th, against Lorenzo Trejo 33-28-1 (20 KOs) from Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico. The 10-round main event attraction will take place at the Fox Theatre in Redwood City.

Escalante was just named 2013 Northern California Fighter of the year while ending a successful 2013 by winning the IBA Super Flyweight Championship in a majority decision over Michael Ruiz Jr. on December 7. Escalante’s record was 5-0 throughout 2013 and he is looking to improve it over this next year. Continue reading
