Khattab: Mikkel Kessler was furious with me

Abdul Khattab (10-0, 3 KOs) reveals that Mikkel Kessler was anything but happy with his performance in Frederikshavn last month. Improvements are needed against Mikheil Khutsishvili (37-22, 18 KOs) at the Ballerup Super Arena on Saturday night, admits Khattab.

“Mikkel was very happy with the first few rounds, but he was furious with me over my performance in the later rounds. He said bluntly that I was crap,” said Khattab who has been training alongside the former world champion. Continue reading

Khattab back against Khutsishvili on March 14

Abdul Khattab (10-0, 3 KOs) is back! On March 14, the Danish middleweight goes up against 25 year-old, 64 fight-veteran Mikheil Khutsishvili (37-22, 18 KOs) at the Ballerup Super Arena in Copenahgen.

“Khutsishvili is an experienced boxer, and I’m certainly not going to underestimate him,’’ said Khattab. ‘’I have to box patiently, avoid close brawls and slowly break him down. I have to box wisely and not go for a quick knockout like in my last fight. If I do so, I should win with more ease than I did in Frederikshavn.” Continue reading

Khattab vs Ribchev on Feb 7

Alexey Ribchev (19-11-1, 6 KOs) has vowed to silence Danish middleweight Abdul Khattab (9-0, 3 KOs) when the fighters go head-to-head on February 7 at the Arena Nord in Frederikshavn.
