WBO Announces Referee And Judges For Kovalev vs Agnew Fight

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Organization (WBO), by president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, announced today the referee and judges who will work this Saturday, March 29, in the world defense of the Light Heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev against Cedric Agnew, to be held at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in a Main Events presentation.

For this fight, the second title defense of the Kovalev’s (23-0-1, 21 KOs) 175 pounds belt when he faces the #14 ranked Agnew (26-0, 13 KOs), the referee will be Samuel Viruet, from United States. Continue reading

WBO Announces Officlals from Burns/Crawford, Stieglitz/Abraham

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Organization (WBO), by president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, announced today the referees and judges who will work this Saturday, March 1st, in the world title defenses of the champions Orlando “Siri” Salido, Ricky Burns and Robert Stieglitz, to be held in United States, Scotland and Germany, respectively.

At the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, WBO featherweight champion Siri Salido (40-12-2, 28 KOs), will make the first defense of the belt he won last October with a knockout victory over Orlando Cruz, when he faces multiple Olympic and World Medalist in amateur boxing, Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko (1-0, 1 KOs), who is looking to make history by becoming world champion in only his second professional fight. WBO Announces Judges: Su-Yun Hong vs Mako Yamada

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Organization (WBO), by president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, announced today the referee and judges who will work this Sunday, February 9, in the female world title bout between mini-flyweight champion Su-Yun Hong and Japanese Mako Yamada, to be held in Chuncheon, South Korea.

In her third title defense of the 105 pounds WBO belt, Hong (9-0, 5 KOs), from South Korea, will face Yamada (6-0, 2 KOs). For this bout, the referee will be Danrex Tapdasan, from Philippines.

While, the judges for Hong-Yamada fight are Joong-Suk Kwon, from South Korea, Katsuhiko Nakamure, From Japan, and Salven Lagumbay, from Philippines. The WBO supervisor for this fight will be Leon Panoncillo.

Felix Verdejo, Emmanuel Rodriguez and John Karl Sosa Recieved Their Awards

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO – World Boxing Organization (WBO) awarded the young professional fighters Felix “Diamante” Verdejo, Emmanuel “Manny” Rodriguez and John Karl Sosa, and amateurs Kiria Tapia, Danielito Zorrilla and Henry Lebron, today in the first edition of this event for the Puerto Rican WBO Prospects Right Now, which the WBO will held annually for the promises of this sport in Puerto Rico, as part of the successful program “Kids Drug Free”.
