Josesito Lopez Puts on Vintage Performance; Defeats Aron Martinez via 5th round TKO

Josesito “The Riverside Rocky” Lopez (32-6, 19 KOs) overwhelmed Southern California rival Aron “El Asesino” Martinez (19-3-1, 4 KOs) with relentless pressure and timely power punching to score a fifth round TKO victory that stirred the pro-Lopez crowd into a hot frenzy. It is Lopez’ first knockout win since 2011.

“I came to put on a great fight and show everyone that I’m ready to make some noise in the welterweight division,” said Lopez, who is co-promoted by Thompson Boxing Promotions and Goossen Tutor Promotions. “I had a nice bounce to my step since the opening round and I just never took my foot off the gas.”

209ORANGE, Calif. (Nov. 24, 2013) – Thompson Boxing Promotions concluded its year with seven sensational fights that thrilled and entertained the capacity crowd at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif.

Friday’s main event showcased welterweight prospect Artemio Reyes of Colton, Calif. against Francisco Reza of Torreon, Mex. Reyes continued his knockout spree, this time flattening Reza in the second with vicious hooks to the body. Reyes dropped him the first time with a pinpoint left hook to the body. Reza would rise, but seconds later Reyes crushed him with a right hook to the ribs that put him down for good. This marks the six straight victory for Reyes, five of which have come by stoppage. Only one of those knockout wins went further than the second round.

“Locked n Loaded” Results: Quevedo Pulls Upset over Martin

164ORANGE, Calif. (Oct. 19, 2013) – Super bantamweight Enrique Quevedo cruised to a unanimous decision upset victory over San Diego-native Christopher Martin in the 8-round main event of Friday’s Thompson Boxing Promotions fight card at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif.

Quevedo handedly outpointed Martin by applying steady pressure, landing consistent combinations and never taking his foot off the gas, all the while making Martin look uncomfortable and unhinged.

“I came in with an excellent game plan and I executed it perfectly,” said Quevedo, who lives and trains out of the Southern California port city of San Pedro. “Everything went well for me.”
