Sulem Urbina, Mexico’s amateur representative at flyweight, Super Bowl recap

While on break from training with Mexico’s national boxing team at the Olympic Center in Mexico City, Sulem Urbina, Mexico’s amateur representative at flyweight, participated in various National Football League charity and celebrity events centered around Super Bowl XLIX. The events included the Players and Pets Charity Party, Wounded Warriors Amputee Football Game (WWAFT), Knockout Bullying Day Event, Madden Bowl, Super Brawl Showdown, and DirecTV’s Super Bowl Party. Urbina, a twenty-four year old, Mexican born, U.S. resident, and a 2016 Olympic hopeful, talked about her busy week in Arizona. She said, “I really enjoyed all the events last week. Each event touched my heart in different ways, allowed me to give back, and meet so many new people.” Continue reading

Mayweather posts picture of meeting with Pacquiao


Floyd Mayweather posted a picture of him meeting Manny Pacquiao on Floyd Mayweather: “I set up this meeting with Manny Pacquiao to get this fight done but they will continue to tell the public it’s us and that’s NOT TRUE. So while we wait y’all go TELL A FRIEND to download Shots ASAP so I can keep you all updated on the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight, that we are trying to make happen.”

Ahmet Öner presents new Turkish heavyweight prospect Mohamed Al Zein

Turkish promoter Ahmet Öner signed a new heavyweight prospect. Mohamed Al Zein gave his pro debut on January 17th in Düsseldorf when he beat Czech journeyman Lukas Skirca and returned to action this Saturday (January 31st) to knock out Martin Stensky.

“This boy is the real deal”, states Öner. “He has fists of stone and is very explosive. I am sure that he will make his way to the top very fast.” Continue reading

Raja Amasheh’s next fight scheduled for March 6th in Berlin, Germany

Raja Amasheh will defend her WBC Silver Flyweight Championship on March 6th in Berlin. The fight will be broadcasted live on Eurosport. After her last fight back in October Amasheh is highly interested in a rematch with Amira Hamzaoui from France.

Raja said: “I’m very happy to announce that my next fight will be in Berlin on a card promoted by EC Box-Promotion. We informed Amira and her team that we are enforcing our rematch option. The lawsuit she filed against the German boxing commission (Bund Deutscher Berufsboxer) has officially been declined. I hope that she will fulfill her contractual commitments and step up so we can settle the score in the ring.”
