Hyland injured, May 18 fight off in Poughkeepsie

Burns vs. Gonzalez stare down for fight this Saturday in Scotland

burns564(Photo courtesy PR Best Boxing Promotions/Joel Colon) Puerto Rican Jose “Chelo” Gonzalez and World Boxing Organization (WBO) lightweight champion Scottish Ricky Burns, were face to face today during the final press conference for their title clash this Saturday, May 11, at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland, in a Matchroom Boxing presentation.

The #1 ranked in the lightweights, Gonzalez (22-0, 17 KOs), and the champion Burns (35-2, 10 KOs), featured the press conference held at the Emirates Arena, lead by promoter Eddie Hearn, of Matchroom Boxing.

“I want to thank God for having me here, and I want to thank the people from Glasgow and Ricky Burns for this chance. I respect a lot Ricky Burns, he is a good champion”, Gonzalez said. “But I’m here to do my job in the ring, that’s for I’m here”. Continue reading
