Big daddy will finish Toney, bet to get used to an Aussie world champ, cos its going to happen

stupid loser

I can’t think of many that have let themselves go and bad as Toney has. Sad because it used to be GREAT watching him fight. Now I don’t know how they even let him show up. The only good way to see James Toney in the ring now, is in highlight clips.

The Human Bowling Ball is tuning up for the Klitschkos with Lucas Browne.
You can bet me.

Well Lucas´╗┐ Browne is up for a name fight against former middleweight, super middleweight and cruiserweight world champion James “Lights-Out” Toney BUT I hardly see that as an test and not fare as Toney is 44 years old now, his skills and speed dropps and with his original middleweight size of 178cm against Browne’s 193cm’s and weight diffrence will now be an effect against Toney. Altough Brown is 33 years old and only went 15 PRO fights so far speaks in expearence against him with NO single quality opponents on his record as well. Hard to look forward for this fight :-(

Lman – Correction! James “Lights-Out” Toney have been knocked to the canvas by Roy Jones Jr but you forgot his 2nd fight with Samuel Peter from 2007. Peter knocked down Toney twice in that fight and the first one was with a single jab punch in 2nd round!!! Just for note :-)

As Australian H/W Browne has every oppertunity & right to challenge Commonwealth champion David Price. So let’s see action!

It would be funny if Toney schools him. I’d bet on that, but I was looking at Price to knock out Thompson to clear some of the smoke. The opposite happened. I would not trust me. Toney is good for one more schooling. Lebedev can bang for a cruiserweight and is way more faster than Browne. Lebedev could not knock out Toney. Toney to win a stinker.

Toney Still Badass

No one shuts James Toney up. The would still be running if he was flat on his back and seeing stars. Hope he does not get hurt.

Robert – I see ur argument but Toney has had 70+ fights and has been hit with power punches from middleweight to heavy weight and has never been ko’d and dropped just once by Jones…Still as long as he continues fighting with his diminshed skills its bound to happen, cant see why Browne cant do it..

Lman. I disagree. If a man 255 pounds that knows how to leverage his punches (which the limited Browne does quite well) lands cleanly on a man who weighs 160 pounds (middleweight Toney) the middleweight WIILL be put to sleep. It’s comparing apples to oranges. Size (and the power inevitably comes from it) is a huge factor in any physical competition than puts body on body.

This doesent look good for James Toney. I would more like to see James Toney work himself down back to cruiserweight again so we can have a fight with Bernard Hopkins vs James Toney – if Hopkins sadly would lose to Tavoris Cloud. Hopkins-Toney must be made before they retire as they never could fight against eachother in there prime days

Toney will school him

Never did anything of note at heavyweight other than beating Holyfield by tko and being the fighter of the year in the same year.

You can’t knock Browne for this fight. All the supposed prospects are running scared of ‘Big Daddy’, just like Towers. BTW he WILL knock out Toney.

Next: Vladimir Klitschko vs. the winner. The champ will take the risk, I bet. :-D

Toney is too old. Browne should be facing guys like Mago, Chisora, Tom Dallas, Ustinov, Audley Harrison, and so many more. Browne’s resume shows he has face total bums again and again. Shame the fight with Towers did not come through.

I thought Randy Couture already stopped fat ass.

Browne can bang but even if he was able to hit a 44 y.o way past his prime James Toney cleanly he still wouldnt go down, im fairly sure of it..Still its not something I really want to see…

Matt, I read that part too and all I can say is, wow really! Toney in his prime was Top3 P4P material. Even the middleweight Toney would stop a limited 255lb MMA guy with ease anytime he chose… People forget too easily is all I can say. Rewind 20 years and Toney was da man!

Let’s give Slater some credit – At least he didn’t title this article …… Will “Big Daddy” Be The First Man To Stop James Toney?

Matt

” In his prime Toney would have been in with a shot of schooling the former MMA fighter”.. Haha “in with a shot”.. for real? Prime Toney absolutely ruins Browne 100 times out of 100 and stops him at will each and every single time.

Still think he goes the distance at 44to be honest…

Who in the world wants to see these washed up old fighters kill themselves in the ring for a few dollars. It’s just too Pitiful. Why don’t we take up a collection for them at the fights?.

Stopping a guy as over the hill as Toney isn’t an accomplishment. In fact, it should be a crime. Publicizing it in an article like this is almost as pathetic as the fight itself.
