Fight Aficionado

Alexander thing is likely a curveball. As stated before, compared to this heartless loser Guerrero will like like a fine opponent, so Floyd won’t look so bad fighting him now. One tweet and y’all got played like a fiddle.

Posted February 9, 2013 4:14 pm

This just goes to prove that CHAMPIONSHIP BELTS don’t mean a thing nowadays. Alexander is a champion and still people take issue with Floyd fighting him. Shows the state of boxing now!!!!

Posted February 8, 2013 10:41 pm

Hidalgo, that fights not going to happen so its NOT worth discussing if you are OK with Floyd in the ring with Malinaggi then you should basically be alright with him fighting ANYONE because Paulie is a NO HOPER vs FMJ lets get real….He could pretty much get a running start and try to KO Mayweather open face and the worst that would happen might be buzzing Floyd for a second… Such a contest would draw nothing but laughter…

Posted February 8, 2013 6:36 pm

SRedmond and Happyboy, Malignaggi is a valid opponent for Mayweather–as I said before–because he would be a big draw. Paulie has a solid fan base. I don’t care if Floyd would KO him. Floyd doesn’t care if it takes him 30 seconds or 4 rounds to KO an opponent. Millions of dollars are millions of dollars and a Paulie Malignaggi fight would still yield that. As for Paulie’s record: He fought and lost to Cotto, Hatton, and Khan when he was a light welterweight. He got KOd by Hatton, but as a welterweight, he TKO’d Senchenko who KO’d Hatton. He fought most of the fight against Cano, with his left hand, because he had broken his right hand. Paulie is a champ, Mayweather is a champ. If Alexander deserves a fight with Mayweather, Malignaggi sure as hell does.

Posted February 8, 2013 6:16 pm

Hidalgo, AGAIN what part of my statement are you missing?? I said that Floyd would get adjusted depending on how Manny proceeds from here if they ever fought and NO I really don’t pay any attention to the so called “Bradley loss” thats a JOKE…AGAIN Trout beat Cotto which was a solid yet surprising win but the fact is that Cotto was coming DIRECTLY off a loss… If May fought Pac now it would be a lose lose absent the check because Manny just lost, if he defeats Marquez handily then more credit would be forthcoming.. Anyone counting Bradley against Pacquiao is a CLOWN

Posted February 8, 2013 6:16 pm

“Hidalgo, the problem for you is that Mayweather has NEVER EVER lost whereas Pac has 5 losses” SRedmond, I’m not a Pacquiao fanboy–you know that. But you’re reasoning needs to apply to Floyd too. You gave Floyd more credit for his defeat of Cotto because Cotto was coming off wins and was a champion. You attempted to diminish Trout’s defeat of Cotto by pointing out that Cotto had losses to FMJ, Pac, and Marg. So, like I said, if and when Floyd ever fights Pac, just make sure to downgrade FMJ’s win because Pac had already lost to Bradley and suffered a devastating KO to Marquez. Fair is fair. Otherwise, don’t argue.

Posted February 8, 2013 5:58 pm

Hidalgo, the problem for you is that Mayweather has NEVER EVER lost whereas Pac has 5 losses (Bradley he got robbed) that said he was the guy getting KOed while Mayweather just keeps on winning…Its ALOT cooler to be FMJ right now than Manny who was last seen splatted on his face…

Posted February 8, 2013 3:55 pm

You know you’re a Floyd Mayweather hater when you complain about the announcement of a possible fight with someone made through Twitter and/or Facebook. I say we should wait until a press conference in which Mayweather is live and in person, speaking about who his next opponent is.

By the way, these hateful comments are making me cry out of laughter.

Posted February 8, 2013 3:29 pm

Malignaggi has been knocked out by 2 guys that Mayweather defeated Cotto and Hatton TKO… Lets not be too outrageous with the jokes guys!

Posted February 8, 2013 11:49 am

NO ONE wants to see Mayweather against Malignaggi who is a guaranteed KO victim to Mayweather, Paulie has NO power and he would be less credible than either Alexander or Guerrero we have seen Paulie stopped by Khan, Cotto and on his butt against Cano in his last fight which was VERY close, I was there for the fight LIVE…. Silly discussion of FMJ against Paulie that ain’t happening Malignaggi does not even call him out….

Posted February 8, 2013 11:48 am

Hidalgo, NO ONE considers Bradley as having beaten Pacquiao and of course Floyd beating Pac post Marquez KO will not have as much cache had he done it before Marquez destroyed him I don’t argue that… Should Pac comeback and impressively defeat Marquez it would go a ways towards restoring some of the lost luster but alas it will never be 2010 again…AGAIN Hidalgo trying to elevate Pac Man now is very hard, he is simply not seen as Mayweathers equivalent his stock is DOWN as of today while Floyd is STILL seen as the #1 fighter in the sport after 16 years..Mayweather is not sold as a knockout artist, he is a masterboxer who makes his opponents look inept and sadly Pacquiao would be cast into the abyss with the rest who have succumbed to his skills…Different level of fighter at this point…

Posted February 8, 2013 11:46 am

“but alas Cotto has already lost to Margarito, Pacquiao, and most recently Mayweather…” That’s backass reasoning Sredmond. But just remember: If Mayweather happens to fight Pacquiao before Pacquiao retires, don’t forget to downgrade Floyd’s win because Bradley had already beat Manny and Marquez knocked Pac out cold. Dead cold. Floyd has only been able to do that recently with a one-two sucker punch over Ortiz. Marquez did it while Pac was swinging. Floyd hasn’t knocked anyone out while they were swinging since he KO’d Ricky Hatton in 2008. Other than Hatton Floyd hasn’t KOd anyone since 1999. Oh wait, Ortiz. LMAO!

Posted February 7, 2013 10:49 pm

Happyboy, do you think Devon Alexander is a bigger draw than two-time, two-division champ Paulie Malignaggi? Alexander has fought two fights as a welterweight. Paulie has fought five. If Alexander is worthy of a fight with FMJ, Malignaggi sure as hell is. And if they fight on the East Coast, they’ll bust the gates.

Posted February 7, 2013 10:39 pm

You are right…these guys in here are casual fans bro……this forum stinks of Flomos

Posted February 7, 2013 9:50 pm

The ONLY names that have not been “recycled” to some extent are NON elite fighters… When you look at the P4P list you won’t see many fresh names because it takes YEARS to build up the kind of consistency, skill and resume to be included on that list… Trouts a good fighter but he is pretty far from being elite….. His biggest win was Cotto which was solid but alas Cotto has already lost to Margarito, Pacquiao, and most recently Mayweather… BUT you are not dinging Trout for being a younger guy who beat Cotto who had some miles on him and was coming off a loss…. Whereas Floyd fought Cotto as the OLDER, smaller fighter and defeated him?? AGAIN I respect Trout and his victory but I am keen on double standards when attacking a GREAT fighter like FMJ.

Posted February 7, 2013 1:38 pm

Silly Man Floyd is considered the BEST in the sport OF COURSE things are in his favor he is the BEST fighter bar none… I know the next dumb argument will be he should go up in weight and find an opponent who’s natural size and strength will compensate for his skills…. Thats not boxing that called a circus, FMJ is the ONLY guy to go thru 5 weight classes and not suffer a single loss it is NOT incumbent upon him to keep going up the scale thats just bitterness coming from guys DYING to see an AGING fighter lose…Floyd is not even prime, he is closer to the end than the beginning and the burning desire of all his detractors if for him to be defeated in the ring….You claim Trout could “outmuscle him” as the naturally bigger man then why would you want to see that, when you claim Floyd has an edge on everyone he faces???

Posted February 7, 2013 1:21 pm

Floyd is a 5 weight Champion so he can fight ANYONE he chooses to Austin Trout looks to be a solid Champ at 154 but alas that is NOT Floyds best weight he has 2 fights there… He is 36 and rightfully ONLY taking BIG fights at 154 which is his tradition Cotto 1.5 million buys, Oscar 2.4 million buys BOTH the biggest of his career and the BIGGEST non-HW fights in history (Oscar the biggest period)…. Why should Floyd disadvantage himself in a division that he is not native to in order to appease fans who are clamoring for him to lose??? I never saw Austin Trout fight at 168, meanwhile I have seen Floyd at 130….

Posted February 7, 2013 1:01 pm

The El Paso Fight Prophet

Silly Nuthugger how is his record endless , and how can you not see he always looks for a fight where it is in his favor some how. How come he dont mention Trout who dominated Cotto better than Floyd.

Posted February 7, 2013 12:40 pm

The El Paso Fight Prophet

Thats because your a Floyd Nuthugger

Posted February 7, 2013 12:36 pm

The El Paso Fight Prophet

I bet Austin Trout Can out muscle and out hustle Mayweather. I bet Floyd Is scared to fight the 154 champion that is Trout. Floyd is 154 pound champ and so is Trout, why not unify the 154 division instead of all this avoiding the real hard fights. At this Point in Floyds career he will look for recycled names and easy fights with higher pay less risk.

Posted February 7, 2013 12:35 pm

te tumbo

i have ZERO interest in watching Floyd above 147lbs ever again and favor NObody under 154lbs v. Mayweather. Floyd has faced every fighter i ever imagined him facing (plus a few i could’ve done without) and his welter dominance is as complete as Ward’s at 168lbs or the Klitschkos at heavy. the only matchup that Mayweather was deprived of is Pacquiao*, which would’ve been little more than a formality since i always anticipated a lopsided and anticlimactic “W” for Mayweather anyway, which explains why Team Punkuiao* would never agree to terms. bottomline, there isn’t a single welter v. whom Floyd wouldn’t be the overwhelming favorite. after all, he is the undisputed #1 P4P fighter in the sport.

Posted February 7, 2013 10:52 am

Face facts haters the reason you discuss Mayweather and the reason he is the face of boxing is because his skills are sublime… He is not some massive guy but he has the highest IQ in boxing, if he had 1 punch power his bouts would likely last 2 rounds maximum…. He’s 36 and guys are still dreaming of opponents that don’t exist to beat him.. Floyd will lose to Father Time instead of a better fighter… Anything close to prime he has been unbeatable…

Posted February 7, 2013 9:05 am

Tim Bradleys is a very good young fighter but he is FAR from “the man” he is more like the forgotten man, it’s like that bogus win over PAC did him more harm than good… He’s about to face an unknown fighter and he is a Top Rankk guy, if GBP and Top Rank could not make fights with Donaire /Mares or Mayweather/PAC then how are the gonna do FMJ/Bradley ??? Floyd and Arum cannot do anything together… Mayweather is ONLY fighting BIG fights at 154 it’s not his best weight… The 2 biggest PPV’s of his career were at 154 pounds Cotto and Oscar, assuming he wins Canelo will get a shot in 2013 because the fight will do business…

Posted February 7, 2013 6:01 am

Yeah, take the easy road to another title Floyd. Wow! What happened to Robert Guerrero? Really though, Tim Bradley is the man Mayweather should be fighting right now. Bradley beat Pacquiao, why wouldn’t he want to fight Bradley? Wait, I know, Bradley is a Top Rank boy. Guess that eliminates Marquez as well. Then there’s Paulie Malignaggi. Yeah, say what you want but Paulie is holding a WBA title belt that’s every bit as legitimate as Guerrero’s WBC belt, Bradley’s WBO belt, or Alexander’s IBF belt. And I think a LOT of people would pay to see Malignaggi fight Mayweather. Bradley would be Mayweather’s most competitive fight though. At 154 is Alvarez who would be the very best choice for Cinco de Mayo and would be a gate-busting sellout. Then there’s Trout, Bundrage, and that guy from Russia. I think Trout would give Floyd a run for his money–and his belt. Bundrage and the Russian are basically unknowns–to the fan base at large–so wisely, Floyd would choose someone else

Posted February 7, 2013 3:12 am

Mayweather may not be a fool but he sure is a damn coward. Just like all the cowards justifying this cowardly decision. They live through him anyways so they no better than to let Floyd fight someone better at this point in his cowardly career. Cowards haha. Oh did I mention he and his supporters are cowardly cowards? Cowards

To better put this fight in perspective, very few would have a problem if Marquez, or Pacquiao were fighting Alexander instead of Mayweather.

Posted February 7, 2013 12:57 am

Boxtradamus-I hope your right that Mathysse came in at 153, but I did a double take and I still saw 163, but I was drinking pretty good that night, so you may very well be right. Still he is big enough to move up to WW.

Posted February 7, 2013 12:44 am

Noway the Cotto/Mayweather fight was a draw! I gave Cotto 3 maybe 4 rounds at the most. Without any knockdowns Cotto lost that fight easily.

Posted February 6, 2013 11:08 pm

It looks like Mayweather found a way to make another bundle and stay unscathed. Most will disagree, but this is the perfect time for Mayweather to unify the welterweight division. Starting with Alexander is a safe move, maybe.

has anyone seen or heard from Guerrero recently? is he in hiding as the mystery slowly unfolds, it seems like hes pretty outspoken so its strange hes been so quiet or am I missing somethin? Hey thanks Damus I will send you your cut brotha!

whiteboyday-Don’t worry just continue to follow MY posts. I’ve got you.

Please follow Boxing a little closer. Matthysse came in at 153 not 163. Either way SKILLS is more important than SIZE up to at least 20 pounds difference.

Posted February 6, 2013 6:30 pm

LOL…bitter, butt-hurt Pactard alert!

Posted February 6, 2013 6:23 pm

I would have liked to see this fight maybe 4 years ago, but I really don’t have much interest in it now. However, it is just a little more competitive than Guerrero who really has no business in the ring with Floyd. Bradley is the most deserving to fight Floyd right now, but for whatever reason that is not happening and there really aren’t many good options for Floyd right now. Kell Brook in UK would be a good money maker, but for competition sake, I would want his next fight to be Mathysse in a classic Boxer vs Puncher showdown. I strongly support fighters fighting in their own division and that’s why I don’t mention names like Canelo, Trout, or Maravilla, but Mathysse came in the ring at 163 last week; therefore, he is no longer a Jr. Welter in my book. I couldn’t believe he was 23 pounds over as a Jr. Welter. That’s unheard of!

Posted February 6, 2013 6:23 pm

LOL! I would rather see Guerrero try to rough Mayweather up on the inside and get himself totally knocked out…that’s the likely outcome if you can stand watching that happen.

Posted February 6, 2013 6:21 pm

i did not read all of these posts, but i agree with 1-ton.

Posted February 6, 2013 6:14 pm

I think Canelo is more dangerous than Alexander but at the same time Alexander has fought BETTER opposition than Canelo and thats just a fact… Tim Bradley, Maidana, Kotelnik and Mattheysee…. I agree that Deven has been somewhat of a letdown but for those complaining about Canelos level of comp you gotta give Alexander the nod in that regard… AGAIN I am not overly excited by the idea of a matchup between Floyd and Alexander but the truth be told no matter who Floyd fights his detractors will say “he was made for him” Floyd is 36 and that is an OLD man in boxing most of the time..If these young guns cannot knock him off shame on them.

Posted February 6, 2013 6:12 pm

Posted February 6, 2013 6:00 pm

Well IF its TRUE its a GOOD move by Mayweather. Guerrero is #10 P4P and Alexander is #0.

Posted February 6, 2013 5:43 pm

Afficianado thats a good point and I really hope your rite, its funny all of a sudden Guerrero looks alot better as an opponent

Posted February 6, 2013 5:39 pm

Fight Aficionado

It’s Floyd throwing a feint. Everyone wanted Floyd vs Canelo but presumed it would be Guerrero, a letdown. Now he throws lame ass Alexander’s name out there which is such a preposterous match people will be relieved when Guerrero is the announced opponent. One tweet, a bunch of stories, and nothing changes from what we already knew. It just makes people not complain about Guerrero now.

Posted February 6, 2013 5:32 pm

I really think and hope this is a joke. Whatever bout this opponent is better than this guy and so on I would just be mad because you know that fight would be boring as hell. Two guys showing technical boxing skills with Floyd stacking up points but no exciting exchanges no fireworks guaranteed to be boring. Its like when you see in the first round of some fights them feeling each other out, imagine twelve rounds of that. cmon man!

Posted February 6, 2013 5:26 pm

Cotto is 4 or 5 years YOUNGER than FMJ so how exactly did his age help Mayweather?? Cotto beat Cotto and destroyed Ortiz NO ONE has a blueprint for anything EXCEPT losing to Mayweather until someone books a win… You are grasping at straws by illuminating these brief moments of success his opponents have when the smoke clears, they book the loss, he books the win, and he gets almost all the cash!!

Posted February 6, 2013 5:25 pm

Yeah Mayweather is a fool for making 85 million over the course of two fights and how much did any of us make between 2011 and 2012? Floyd can make 40 mill fighting pretty much anyone these days…He is the BEST marketer in boxing and thats simply a fact numbers don’t like…

Posted February 6, 2013 5:23 pm

Always Sunny

The stupidity belongs to Mayweather for constantly changing the requirements to fight. He just saw $50M flushed down the drain with 1 punch from JMM. Everyone pretty much knows Mayweather would beat Pac with or without peds so changing the goal posts 3 times to not make the fight cost Mayweather way more than Pac.

Posted February 6, 2013 4:46 pm

Don’t you love how the pretty boy PFP fighters like Mayweather dodge guys with a high work rate? Cotto finally learned what so many Floyd opponents didn’t by keeping Floyd on the ropes and throwing left hooks to crush him when he shoulder rolled away from right hands. Mayweather rules the middle of the ring jab-wars and that’s how he won round 12 because Cotto let him off the ropes. The fight was truly a draw. 6 rounds each. Floyd doesn’t want a list of young, hard pressure fighting guys. He wants slick boxers who are only aggressive on occasion. The attacks are so infrequent he sees them and dodges accordingly.. Alexander is a alphabet champion and a great BOXER but he is MADE for Floyd. However for a #1PFP fighter this is a coward choice. Floyd only takes a risk once in a while but it’s still calculated. Mosley and Cotto helped him get by on their age. Ortiz he took advantage on the cheap shots.

Posted February 6, 2013 4:41 pm

can’t believe pacquaio didn’t accept floyd’s $40 million six months ago. what utter stupidity.

Posted February 6, 2013 3:38 pm

floyd will get all the mexican viewers on cinco de mayo because canelo will be fighting on his undercard. by fighting alexander, floyd personally pockets an extra 10-15 million he won’t have to pay a big name. moreover, this fight is just him staying busy until something really worthwhile comes along. something david “the diva” haye should attempt to do for his fans. so what if floyd pulls a klitchko in order to earn 30-40 million in one day. it’s not like he’s done it his entire career as the klitchkos have done. he’ll get around to a few marquee fights. and you never know: alexander may pull off a doozie!

Posted February 6, 2013 3:36 pm

Anonymous AGAIN Canelo, Trout or Martinez who does not even fight in Floyds division?? Since when does FMJ have to prove himself against Trout who is on the map for beating Cotto who Floyd beat via UD right before him?? Canelo is a good fight but we all KNEW that coming out of jail Floyd was going to take on a tuneup or something of that nature I’m not enamored with Alexander as a choice but I will let this play out….The ONLY reason that he is sooo attacked is that we know that even though he is OLD in boxing, FMJ is the most skilled fighter in the sport….Manny got knocked out by Marquez meanwhile Mayweather TOYED with him…

Mayweather Jr looks like he has cold feet against Guerrero. Mayweather is the best u say but For the so call Champ to backaway from a guy like Robert Guerrero is mighty sad and on Cinco de Mayo day for Mexico, Robert Guerrero vs Mayweather jr should go down on May 4 and then fight Devon or Brook from the UK.

Posted February 6, 2013 2:35 pm

Alexander is no champion. Bailey, whom I we all know is a one trick pony, was a paper champion. Beating a guy who won a vacant belt doesn’t make you a champion and real boxing fans know this. Find a better opponent Floyd.

Posted February 6, 2013 1:34 pm

This isn’t a good fight anyway you shake it. Devon only looks good vs come straight ahead brawlers like Maidana or Urango. Most agree he should have lost to Kotelnyk and Matthysse if they hadn’t been fought in his hometown. This fight makes no sense. He is the #10 WW right now, that isn’t a fight the top guy in the sport should be taking. People are asking who has Guerrero beat? Who has Alexander beaten? No one. Have to go back to an old Witter to get a good clean victory. Stop supporting everything Al Haymon does. He is robbing us and making a mockery of the sport.

Posted February 6, 2013 1:31 pm

Alexander received a gift decision against Mathysse

Posted February 6, 2013 1:29 pm

Bradley dominated Alexander and took Pacquiao’s belt (even if it was a bs decision) and would be a much better choice then Alexander! That being said, it’s funny how many people were commenting how bad of a choice Guerrero was, and now the same people are saying Floyd doesn’t have the balls to fight him. Hypocrites.

Nah…Mayweather is probably just trolling. I don’t believe that.

Posted February 6, 2013 1:20 pm

Gurerro is a bum. he looked horrible against berto who looked horrible himself. they said ricky hatton was a pressure fighter, ortiz, cotto and gurerro is not on any of their levels…maybe hatton because hatton was a small welterweight. but cmon he beat 1 guy and he had no defense, no footworrk, no jab, no speed. dont you know rough housing doesnt work against the shoulder roll especially if you have no footwork timing or a jab.

Posted February 6, 2013 1:10 pm

we say pacquiao got knocked out, canelo will get his in due time. He himself has not fought a 154 lb fighter. martinez will have to come down and when that happens we will see. Guerrero is absolutely garbage. he is slow he is not a good pressure fighter, look at his face after the fight and look at how ortiz looked. Ortiz was better in his victory over a well prepared berto and floyd dominated him leading up to the knock out. he already beat cotto with 10 0z gloves on that cotto requestd to protect his face which was destroyed. cant fight bradley because of bob arum and you know that.

There’s no way this fight will happen. All the morons are losing their damn minds. I would like Floyd to ask GGG to 154 lbs catchweight now that’s the fight I want to see. Trout or Canelo would be alright but not Devon

When facing a CHAMP is considered an easy WIN thats called GREATNESS.

Posted February 6, 2013 11:26 am

SREDMOND, I totally disagree wih you. Floyd would get huge respect if he chose Canelo, Trout, or Martinez. The truth is, he picked someone with a belt that’s easy to beat then stack the card with Mexicans to get good PPV numbers.

Posted February 6, 2013 11:19 am

Hey Joe, lets be 100% honest there is NOT a single opponent that Floyd will not be raked over the coals for taking… Alexander is young strong and fast BUT he is not elite, Guerrero put Berto under pressure so suddenly he is the ultimate pressure guy? Canelo is young, unseasoned and has not fought anyone even though he is tough and talented…If Martinez fought him at 154 and lost they would say he was drained, or that he got OLD…If he fights Manny, Pac got knocked out, he slowed down… Meanwhile Floyd is 36 years old which is hardly young in boxing….I would rather see Guerrero but the truth is that Floyds in a NO WIN position no matter how you look at it…

Posted February 6, 2013 10:49 am

i thought the bicep story smelled funny as soon as it came out

Posted February 6, 2013 10:42 am

I disagree, Guerrero does NOT have much history at 147 and we are building that thesis off an upset of Berto who is a good fighter but not in FMJ’s class…The same face first tactics that yielded results against Berto would likely get Guerrero knocked out or BADLY beaten against Floyd….We are talking about the BEST fighter in the world and he did not attain that status overnight, he has been winning in dominant fashion for 16 years… Mayweather has fought guys like Guerrero and Alexander, NEITHER has fought a man like him….

Posted February 6, 2013 10:40 am

SRedmond, at least Guerrero is a good pressure fighter that may actually help create an exciting fight give the clash of styles. Alexander is a boxer (and not that good of one as it turns out) and this will equal a fricken boring match

Posted February 6, 2013 10:40 am

I would love to see the Ghost rough him up Berto style and see how Floyd deals with it.

Posted February 6, 2013 10:25 am

the end result would be the same but the Ghost would put up one hell of a fight, Alexander wont he will buckle like he did against Bradley.

Posted February 6, 2013 10:23 am

well actually Guerrero would stand more of a chance than Alexander lets NOT act like he wouldn’t.

Posted February 6, 2013 10:20 am

Lets NOT act like Guerrero stands more of a chance than Alexander he will be easy pickings for FMJ just like Devon would..Mayweathers going to be a runaway favorite against either of those guys and thats just a fact….AS always the boxing world is hanging on Floyds EVERY word just the way he likes it, this guy REALLY runs the sport, Alexander was just in the ultimate DUD fight against Randall Bradley who should definitely retire if he is going to throw 4 punches per round….

Posted February 6, 2013 10:15 am

I would be surprised if this was NOT a media ploy on Mayweathers part Alexander is definitely a choice coming out of left field the only thing that makes sense to me is maybe he is priming himself vs a YOUNG left hander with very good hand speed for a possible Pacquiao bout down the road? All speculation but until I hear this fight ACTUALLY announced I would err on the side of him facing Guerrero or Canelo…We shall see

Posted February 6, 2013 10:10 am

I don’t blame Alexander for jumping at the chance who wouldn’t its like knowing your going to win the lottery but I have lost respect for Money Mayweather for not fighting Guerrero and taking the easy night’s work.

Posted February 6, 2013 10:04 am

Typical Floyd – avoiding the “Best” challenger in the weight class. Guerrero = tough night; Alexander = easy paycheck. This is why people hate Floyd.

Posted February 6, 2013 9:54 am

I cant agree with you on that one, ALexander is a decent fighter, but no where near Floyds league, saying that, this is a bum fight, Mayweather should know better than this.

Alexander would win lol no joke, he would whip Mayweather silly for 12 rds, no joke, but he cant win against Kell Brook and he knows it.

Wow Floyd stoops to a new low avoiding the tough Guerrero for a cupcake like Alexander. I like Devon but hes a cupcake smart move Floyd because Guerrero wouldve definitly busted ur face open. Yeah Devons a southpaw but hes featherfisted and hes not gritty. Doubt this fight will sell this is a tickle fight between 2 softies lol. Floyd fans i will never get y yall ride with this dude hope yall hyped up for this 1 another young hungry lion lmfao.

How the hell is this a UNIFICATION fight??? Do the WBC still love Floyd somuch that he holds their 147 belt years after he last defended it?

He was gonna get beaten by Kell anyway, so he’s sensibly going for the Money!!

SHOCKING DECISIONS!!! Floyd Floyd Floyd History is bound to sting you in the ass for this up coming future! I’m not sure if ‘insecure’ or ‘coward’ is the best word to finish with, ahhh INSECURE

jaysti is on the money, he is a coward! first boxer in HISTORY to duck dodge dive dodge the biggest money fight in his career!!!! Can you honestly imagine any of our favourite former kings of this wonderful sport acting in such a way?? Holyfield, Corales, De La Hoya (jus an example of the guys I loved to watch)never! All boxers Dream of Floyd has in front of him yet “Moneys” own very obvious insecuritys seem to controll his career! However the people I sincerly feel for are Floyd Mayweather’s fans as scarce as they are, how many times can one try defend these

I have long been a Mayweather supporter but to be frank, this match is not good enough. It is not as if he is struggling for quality opponents. There are many willing and better equipped fighters out there. I am sorry this fight is not worth paying PPV for, we pay so much money to see competitive bouts not a tomato can contest.

If this is true then it explains Alexander’s recent injury which put paid to the Brook fight. Seems Kell is either being stitched up or paid to step aside. The IBF won’t strip Alexander if Goldenboy pays them enough. They will order some 90 day deadline for a fight to be made with Brook. Mayweather wins, vacates and Brook fights for the vacant belt. No hype for a fight with Bradley at all, and he beat Alexander at 140. Bradley needs to get his train moving. Beats Pacquiao controversially then doesn’t fight again for 9 months?

terror tim

An Al Haymon fighter who is promoted by Golden Boy. Not sure who is worse for boxing, Arum or Haymon. Sport would be better off if both of these guys would go away.

Pacquiao is a dead man alive. 40yrs old marquez has his balls.I’m sure he’s gonna own jinkie too…lol!

Wow man Floyd always finding ways to B**** out. There are 20 other people he should be fighting before Alexanders boring and C+ average style. Damn coward. What about Canelo? Robert Guerrero? Current megastar Marquez, Victor Ortiz in a fair one, undefeated Bradley, undefeated Trout who beat Cotto more impressively, Cotto who gave him a close fight, Sergio Martinez, and most of all Pacqiao. But no he choses Alexander. Like he should be fighting tune up fights at this age. His inactivity is cowardly enough but then he uses it as an excuse to fight weak opposition. What will the Mayweather fans say this time? And no I’m not a Pacquiao lovers u simps!
