Officially cory’s record was 39 – 8 . It should have been 42 – 4 – 1. He beat Diaz, verno philips , Jermain Taylor and the italian in the first fight. Against Karamzin a draw.

It’s Me, Ernie

whiteboyday-That would be an excellent match-up. At this point I would give the edge to Thurman…

About time that guy retire. Lots of luck in his life, but he had to be the most unwatchable fighter out there.

Fight Aficionado

I respect all boxers who make their livelihood in a tough game. But I’m glad I won’t have to watch Spinks take TV slots from worthy boxers. His bouts are all snorebores and all he does is hold and run. Boring.

Good luck moving forward Corey.

Spinks had a good career. He doesn’t seem to have much left so this is a wise choice. I hope he sticks to it, but they rarely do.

Hey Mrs.Spinks, If K9 is a bum and he KO’d your husband twice, what does that make your husband? People should think before they speak.

@Tomato Can; I agree with you; his wife should have omitted that comment about K9, just like the author should have omitted what Spinks wife USE TO DO for a living. We didn’t need to know that. This is suppose to be about Cory Spinks and what he gave the sport; not about others personal lives. IJS!!!!! Anyways…I always liked Cory. I wish he had a better chin and a little more pop behind his punches. Other than that; he was a damn good boxer. I wish him well; and like his uncle; I hope he saved up some of his purses and can retire ok and not end up like his dad.

How you ganna let your women get outta line like that….spinks should drop a couple jabs on her, get her back into the help meet position instead of the leading lady……then again she probly run his punk sory ass from the sounds of it.

WTF ….No more. As a wife I knew some fights ago that my husband wasn’t himself. Any time you let K9 Bundrage beat you twice something is definitely wrong, because K9 Bundrage has absolutely no talent……………………. LMAO

stupid loser

Thank you Cory for retiring, it was very painful at times at watch. However some great highlights, like you beating Judah in fight #1 tops my list.

Slinks had a great career. His wife should have omitted the Bundrage comment. That was unnecessary. In any case Cory was a good addition to the Spinks legacy, hopefully he’ll stay retired.

K9 Bundrage has no talent? Thats why he knocked your husband out twice. Spinks will be back fighting within 12 months, watch this space.

Good call…he had a great career, better than most. At least he knows when its time to hang them up.

He lived up well to the Spinks family legacy of boxing world champions. He mabey never became as good as Michael Spinks but Cory Spinks (38-8-0 KO’s 11) had a very great career and he is doing the right thing to retire now when he have his health and a legacy to look back at. Former welterweight world champion, former 2-time light middleweight world champion and almost became middleweight world champion but fell on a close SD loss to then undefeated champ Jermain Taylor in 2007 all in 13 recognised world title fights. Have a happy retirement champ, your tallent will be missed.

Glad to hear it. He was a good technical fighter and was in some serious wars. Rest and live the second half of your life. Shine.
