Weren’t they trying to make a Canelo vs Trout fight??

Branodon Rios should fight Danny Garcia next.. that would also be a sweet fight. and Canelo should fight Gabriel Rosado who proved he could move up to 160 and take on one of the best up there.. something Canelo has not done…

Tumbo – Salido had JuanMas number no doubt but Salido did not look like himself in his last fight.. had no real power and looked lost Odd.. I expected more out of him.. Hopefully JuanMa has learned some defense because if he didn’t he’s going to get caught again.. a fight vs Abner Mares would be nice..

Mad Scientist.. I picked Danny Garcia to starch Eric Morales.. LOL

ANONYMOUS, what needs to be remembered about Salido is that he is only truly better than Lopez. otherwise, he has gamely competed but mostly struggled v. the truly elite fighters of his division. Lopez is not elite but he remains a dangerous competitor and gatekeeper v. any fighter thinking of stepping-up to the elite competition. considering that Lopez was the fighter to topple DeLeon from his presumably “elite” perch, a rematch is logical, if not overdue. the risk/reward calculations usually reserved for the true and presumably elite no longer applies to Lopez. he can no longer be allowed to avoid the riskiest competition and the likes of De Leon and Jhonny Gonzalez is the highest competitive bracket Lopez can aspire too nowadays.

Ponce v. Lopez II is a logical step-up for Lopez. it’s also a fight that i’m certain De Leon wins. there’s no accounting for sudden KOs like the one Lopez scored to defeat Ponce the first time but lightning would have to strike the same spot twice for Lopez to prevail in a rematch. otherwise, i think Ponce earns the TKO in more lethal fashion than Salido. unlike Siri, De Leon IS a KO puncher and Lopez is an obliging target over the course of a 10 or 12-round bout.

Gamboa has been busted as a Steriods user just like all those Baseball Players like ARod.. his name was one of the names found in this Doctors records who supplied Steriods to all those Athletes.. just another Lance Armstrong..

If I would have been there at the fight, I wouldn’t of booed, I would have thrown beans and rice to juanma for taking so long knocking out a bum. Pathetic display from a so called “prospect”. Salido got his ass beat by mikey. That just shows where juanma stands at, twice!

To the guy suggesting virgil Hunter as a trainer, is that the SAME Hunter that had Dallas v. Mathyeese?

The Mad Scientist

I wanna see a Juanma vs Ponce rematch..I felt the first fight ended to soon and it gave us a false sense of Lopez’s true status at that time..Im not saying Ponce would’ve won the fight had it gone more than 1 round but It had the makings of a barn burner for sure..

Anonymous: From the pictures shown in the article, it looks like Juanma is still up to his bad habits of letting the guard down. I hope to see a replay soon since didn’t get to watch. Your opinion about Juanma is right on track because he does take way too many shots and is a perfect win for any boxer who can start breaking down his defense early. I think that Juanma needs someone like Robert Garcia, Ronnie Shields, or Virgil Hunter or any trainer to teach him some working defense — before he gets too untrainable to learn.

Saw the fight live, many fans were not happy that Juanma did not KO him earlier and easier. He boxed the first 4 to 5 rounds but the blood thirsty fans started booing although the guy was winning the fight. He then started fighting his old style, trying to rip his opponents head off, it finally happened in the 9th round but he took way too many shots to the head and at one point seemed exhausted. Juanma is a proud guy but should not listen to these rowdy bunch, they are not the ones getting hit unnecessarily. He needs to box and if the ko is going to come, well so be it.
