te tumbo

i can recall Soliman giving a still-prime Winky fits with his unorthodox style. it was the most lumped-and-bumped-up i had ever seen Wright till that point. not shocked that he was able to do the same v. Sturm. never been a fan of Sturm for all the reasons cited by previoius posters. Btw, a Draw v. DLH would’ve been a generous result for Sturm and more a reflection of DLH’s underwhelming performance than how impressive Sturm looked. he didn’t. IMO, he only survived, got the Hell out of Dodge, and never came back.

The former 2-time world title challanger and Commonwealth champion Sam Soliman did a great job in this fight and he deserved to win. I mabey will be hard now in my verdict BUT Felix Sturm effort in the fight proved that he have never been an elite fighter and just a made up paper champion who havent fought any serius top man sence Oscar De La Hoya back in 2004, a contest he lost by UD on all cards and even if some people say it was a robbery, I dissagree and find it to be only a SD loss or generous a DRAW but De La Hoya was better that – btw De La Hoya went on for unify the world middleweight title belts against the middleweight champion of the world Bernard Hopkins = Hopkins KO’s him and there was the first man ever in boxing history to at same time hold all 4 major world title belts (WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO) and the lineal crown as well all in same weight class and the middleweight division got a ruler for a time and the crown passed on to Jermain Taylor and then Kelly Pavlik end of story. Sturm would NEVER have taken hi9s WBO title and fought Hopkins as he avoided him and the rest later on. Thats over 8 years ago and Sturm NEVER in first place won the middleweight title from the universal recognised world champion line – Bernard Hopkins, Jermain Taylor or Kelly Pavlik. Sturm waited them all out and ignored Arthur Abraham as well. Now Sturm can go home, retire and enjoy life outside boxing becouse he won’t be missed outside Germany. I’m sorry but Felix Sturm is a very overrated ex champion,

Sturm should retire, againg he did so little. Despite ranked #5 in the world. Soliman is a 39 year old who already had 11 defeats, and a ko% at 31%.

Lenin, this has become a myth. Rewatch the fight please, it was DLH being the aggressor and pressing the fight. Imo. it was a close fight and I dont see any problems with DLH winning. You could argue a draw or a close decision for Sturm aswell. It was definately no robbery.

Swedish Boxing Fan, one thing: Sturm has lost by UD to de la Hoya, yes, but everybody including Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles knew that he won! That was one fixed fight! But you’re right, except for this great WIN, he didn’t take any risks.

DEEBROWN

I can’t believe Mundine beat Soliman years back by KO then slowly declined in skill. Sorry to mention Mundine’s name, just came to mind seeing he recently fought as well. Seems Soliman is indeed one hard nut. Because even back when he when he went against Mundine he was knocked down repeatedly through the fight and was unsteady but managed to keep getting back up time and time again til the end. Hadn’t realised he is now 39. Great job Sam! I still remember when you were involved in kickboxing.

Soliman is one tough bastard…always liked the guy.He was ripped-off against Wright years ago so its nice he got this.Would like to see him against Macklin who was also ripped-off against Sturm.Macklin against Soliman would make a cracklin fight.
