All Canello wants is a big payday against Pacquiao or Mayweather. If not, why doesn’t he fight Trout? ‘Cos he’s scared! Media created, media friendly, media approved Saul Alvarez will get beaten by the first legitimate fighter he faces. I can bet my house on that. Mind you, my house is big and expensive!

You forgot Mosley Cobra thats why they would be the ultimate match Pacqiuiao and Mayweather lets get it going.

Posted January 7, 2013 11:21 pm

The same can be said about Pacquiao he should fight Trout, Martinez, or Canelo even Timothy Bradley to reedem himself not the 40 year old past his prime fighter they have booth fought Delajoya, Hatton Marquez and MigueL Cotto only Mayweather beat them when they were younger and destroyed Marquez.

Canelo couldnt bet Trout on his best day. Trout would box his ears off. worse than he did his older brother. If beating cotto is so lame then why does canelos team want him to fight cotto, how lame is that :)

Trout will give Canelo a severe boxing lesson even more impressive than the one he gave his brother.

Tumbo…. Winky Wright lost a highly disputed decision to Fernando Vargas in 1999.. But he wasn’t 154lb world champion until 2001.. After the 1999 Vargas fight Wright wasn’t defeated again until Bernard Hopkins beat him in 2007.. During that long unbeaten streak Wright beat Shane Mosley TWICE and dominated Felix Trinidad—but all during that period De La Hoya wanted nothing to do with Wright—even when they shared the prestige of being the most esteemed of all 154-pound champions in the world.

Those are the facts—as inescapable as the fact Trout and Alvarez are the most esteemed 154-pound World Champions today—and should fight to find out who is the best 154-pounder in the world TODAY … Just because you’re 22 or 23 year old world champion, doesn’t mean you should be able to avoid the best fighters in your weight class.

te tumbo

“Nobody felt the need to write—De La Hoya not likely to vace Wright…” TARK, nobody knew or cared who Winky was until he LOST to a 17-fight Fernando Vargas. immediately prior to that he lost to at 16-0 Harry Simon(?!?) and before that was WRECKED by a very tough Julio Cesar Vasquez. three losses and a ring-resume padded with the names of euro-pugs wasn’t gonna qualify any fighter for the DLH $weep$take$. otherwise, the prime DLH fought every and prominent champ and worthy contender in his vicinity. Winky was neither.

Cotto is FAR from a “washed up has been” there is NOT a single WW fighter operating today that fought the ambitious schedule of fighter he did and his losses ONLY game to Champions and ATG’s…. Austin Trout is a BIG JR MW who proved to be BETTER than I thought he was, Cotto NEVER ducked hard or risky bouts ie top versions of Pac, Mayweather, Margaritoo, Clottey, he faced very solid versions of Judah and a still very good Shane Mosley…. This notion that he is a bum or NOT a HOF level fighter is ridiculous..Everyone is saying he was ruined with Bricks which is an unproven MYTH… He fought FMJ for 12 full rounds and the rounds were pretty much all competitive…. There are VERY few true HOF level boxers in the game and Cotto is one of them…

Posted January 7, 2013 11:15 am

Canelo is getting somewhat of a bum rap, he has alot of pro fights but ALOT of those occured while he was a teenager, he was slated to face Paul Williams and Kirkland BOTH hard fighters who would have been solid tests for anyone in the division… We know what happened with both guys and then even Victor Ortiz… NOW he is in the FMJ sweepstakes and as such he is in position to make some serious money… Maybe he is the real deal maybe not BUT he is a KID and has YEARS to answer that question despite his detractors.`

Off subject: I see the WBC have followed the WBA scam & made Andre Ward champion emeritas (Basically a super title) Apparentlly the Bika/Sjekloca fight has been up graded to full champion status & Lucian Bute is now WBC #1 mandatory contenter.

Posted January 7, 2013 8:19 am

Canelo gets hit a lot. Trout is a big strong kid with better boxing skills. The over rated alverez gets stopped in 8

Posted January 7, 2013 1:52 am

Canelo AND Trout are Prospects though Trout is closer to being legit as he has beaten a Top JrMW. Neither are legitimate CHAMPS as they have never defeated a World CHAMP in their LIVES.

Posted January 6, 2013 9:08 pm

Canelo is being overprotected by Al Haymon. Cotto is on his way out. Probably has 1 or 2 fights left. Trout is a champion, not a prospect. De La Hoya claims he wants to clean up the sport. If Canelo faces anybody not ranked in the top 10 it will only bring more disgrace to the sport I
love the most…

Posted January 6, 2013 8:17 pm

lol…do you actually watch any of the fights?

Posted January 6, 2013 6:00 pm

What a piece of breaking news—Alvarez not likely to face Trout..

Oscar De La Hoya and Winky Wright were also 154-pound champions at the same time. Nobody felt the need to write—De La Hoya not likely to vace Wright… No kidding?

It’s not as if boxing fans don’t know who wants to fight and who doesn’t..

Unless they’re stupid.

Posted January 6, 2013 4:38 pm

Hey Joel he defeated Cotto that’s lame. Cotto is a wash up has been. Canelo would starch Cotto in about 6 to 7 rounds

Posted January 6, 2013 1:09 pm

Oscar puts Canelo on Floyds under card to prop Floyds PPV cause with out Canelo Mexicans from Mexico won’t purchase a PPV fight that has Mayweather

Posted January 6, 2013 1:07 pm

You can apply that same weak logic to Mayweather but it’s flawed either way cause it appears that you haven’t done your homework. If you compare resumes then you can come to only one conclusion and that is that Canelo’s suck big time. Mayweather’s last five fights have been against champions. When Mayweather went to 154 it was by choice. Weight did’t dictate that he move up as it did with Canelo. He is a natural 154 lber and getting bigger. The divisions is full of excellent fighters and offers a chance for him to build a true legacy. It will test his heart and his skill. It’s a known fact that he can’t outbox Mayweather so what is he bringing to the table that will possibly allow him a victory. Youth, power, and strenght. Mayweather don’t need to chop down any more trees to prove himself. He done that when he was comming up.If Canelo wants the fight that bad, then he should come to 147 and it’s a wrap. Same with Sergio and Trout, although Trout is only calling out in his weight class, ask Canelo.

You guys need to stop debating , and realize that the cinnamon is the next face in boxing, and a great one not only in Mexico, but in the U.S.A as well. He can also don’t need to fight in same card as may. He can make monney in his own ppl card

Perfectly said. I agree 100%

So yeah…Oswald is Slugger, right?

Posted January 5, 2013 11:22 pm

Funny how people are pressuring Canelo to fight Trout. Trout is legit, but why fight a good fighter like Trout if Canelo could go after a weaker opponent and play it safe with his boxing record. One example of such fighter is Mayweather Jr. His whole boxing career is based on hand picking safe opponents. Just look at his next opponent, Guerrero. No body really believes Guerrero has a chance against Mayweather.

Mayweather Jr. is the most overrated boxing in history. I mean, who has he beaten??? All the boxers he fought with were AVERAGE boxers at best.

If there’s a boxer we fans should expect more of, it is Mayweather Jr. He needs some balls and fight real fighters, like Trout, Martinez, or Canelo. But of course he won’t because he doesn’t want to risk losing.

Guererro weighed more vs berto than floyd has in any of his 43 fights. Check his fight night weight

There’s only one way to find out & that’s for the promotors to match Alverez with Trout. I believe that No Doubt will give Canelo his toughest fight to date. Saul reckons he wants to be accepted as the #1 @ 154Lb in the World so he’s gotta fight the best availible condenders & Trout is surely right up there.

Posted January 5, 2013 4:52 pm

That’s wishful thinking, Trout won’t fold like those subwelters and end of the road fighter that Candelo has been fighting. That young man is ready to rumble and there is no fear in his heart for Canelo. He called him out on national TV so whats the problem. Canelo is not scared because he is too young to know that his ass will be in trouble, but his team knows and that’s why the fight will not happen.

Posted January 5, 2013 4:08 pm

fighters these days dont take enough risks, go and watch mancini vs kim on you tube and see what boxing used to be like.

Posted January 5, 2013 3:50 pm

Trout will lose by K.O. most of you might not agree but just watch and see. In round 6.

Posted January 5, 2013 2:59 pm

no way they agree to fight trout he would be a plan spoiler and they don’t want to mess up that huge future fight with $$$ may…everbody knowsw that fellas

Glad Trout has fans because our entire state could care less about him and he is one of us!

Posted January 5, 2013 11:32 am

Trout is no threat, no sell, and therefore no one will fight this boring bum!

Posted January 5, 2013 11:26 am

Oswald Cobblepott

No man in the division fears anything about Austin Trout except an empty arena, he would get knocked out!

Posted January 5, 2013 11:24 am

Why is every one on trout like he is the next big thing in boxing he beat a past prime cotto and it was a sloppy fight canelo beats both cotto n trout

Posted January 5, 2013 10:05 am

i think Golden Boy is absolute protecting Alvarez and does not want any dangerous fights until they get Mayweather. I think that is smart even if it is gutless. I also don’t think Mayweather will ever take a fight with Alvarez — so it is wishful thinking anyway. Alvarez can have a lot of interesting safe fights even if he chickens out against Trout. Kirkland, Molina, Ortiz, Martirosyan, Angulo, and Bundrage are all interesting fights that Alvarez would still find relatively safe. I don’t think we will see Alvarez fight Lara or Trout

Wow what a suprise Canelo and golden garbage dont want to fight Trout! Canelos brother probably gave hime some advice and told him if he wants to keep his belt not to fight Trout. Oswald Cobblepott says Trout is a bum? Lets see Trout has won his belt defended it sucessfully 4 times defeated miguel cotto in his last defense. Now on the other hand the only thing i have read about oswald cobblepott was on a bathroom stall wall it was something about him leaving teethmarks enough said. Trout will have a long reign at jr. Middleweight.

Posted January 5, 2013 8:11 am

I get the impression that Golden Boy will protect Canelo until they can get him a fight with Mayweather and then he’ll be filthy rich regardless of the fight’s outcome.

Posted January 5, 2013 7:33 am

Oswald Cobblepott

Trout is a bum!

No credibility until Canelo fights Trout!

Posted January 5, 2013 5:44 am

None of this comes as breaking news. GBP will continue to protect him until they feel he is ready. They don’t want no parts of anyone who they think is going to upset their money train.
