pacquiao mayweather 2013 mega fight.

Posted February 8, 2013 2:44 am

Different strokes for different folks…Pac shouldnt go for the KO but JMM DID and it worked. Therefore I’ve SEEN all that I need to see. BOTH Fighters came looking for the KO and one guy GOT it showing that he’s BETTER. It doesn’t get any simpler than that…Pac went for the knockout this time because last time he tried to Box and LOST 8 rds to 4 in his own mind and heart. Roach knew it TOO thats why he scrapped the Boxing game plan and decided to tell Pacquiao to bring the heat….That made a BAD situation WORSE but I guess you have to stick to what you know. Roach can’t teach anyone how to Box very well SO he threw that game plan out the window…..IF they try to go back to Boxing Pacquiao will LOSE again because he has a POOR teacher…Hire Hunter or Floyd Sr. and he might have a chance.

In the last Olympics (2012) Bolt broke his old OR and went 9.63 in the 100… He also won the 200 and The 4X100 was done in 36.84 a new WR.

As always Tark, great posts. As far as PEDs go, I dunno. Last Olympics everybody ran below 10 seconds. These jamacan guys that run much faster than anybody even thought was possible..

The Mad Scientist, who said anything about a lucky punch? Read my posts again friend.

It would be hard for a 40-year-old to win a decision over a speedy and tricky 6 years younger ATG.. Pac is going for a decision win because he got his head ripped off last time—and he doesn’t want to repeat the mistake of taking risks, in a vain attempt to finally score a decisive win and KO over JMM.. It didn’t work because JMM was laying in the weeds for him and planned to end it with a big shot.. It was a risky strategy because Pacquiao had never in 60 fights been KO’d with head shots … JMM is obviously going to go for he KO again because it worked to perfection. Every top trainer says don’t go for the KO—just box as well as you can and win each round. Then one day they will walk in and say, “Damn…It’s going to be so difficult to get a decision over this MFer. We’ll need to win 9 rounds. He’s a super tough guy but you know what? … We have to go for the knockout. We’re have to stretch this clown out cold. There’s no other way.”

I see good

Now its MARQUEZ who calls the SHOTS. Marquez can MAKE 80% of the purse. win or lose MARQUEZ will WIN in the PURSE. Just like pacman did because he was given the decissions in the past

Posted January 1, 2013 3:26 pm

…ANALNYMOUS,why don’t you give daddy Marquez a tweet or something,i’m sure you’ll get your answer!!

Posted January 1, 2013 3:24 pm

There’s less PED use today than ever in the last 45 years… Not necessarily Boxing, but Olympic sports in general. The reason is they freeze your samples for decades now. As new testing procedures come on line you WILL be found out and exposed to the world.

Like Lance Armstrong—you’ll be persona non grata—stripped of every title you’ve ever won, fighting lawsuits for the rest of your life, and required to pay back prize money. Boxing has to get a lot stricter to fall in line with cycling and other sports that are cracking down like crazy. If you get caught using PEDs your boxing license should be revoked all over the world… all your titles should be stripped… and all your purse money for title fights should be paid back and put in a fund to improve and update PED testing science.

forreal, are you an idiot or what? all i’m asking is a 5 letter or 6 letter word. you’ve been typing countless of paragraphs and still you don’t answer my f-ing question. IF jmm refuses a 5th fight, is he S C A R E D OR S M A R T??? i guess it’s hard to interact with I D I O T S like you!!! lol.

Posted January 1, 2013 2:13 pm

but your idol is still terrified of pacman. that’s why you shamelessly piggyback on JMM’s victory…because floid can not give you the satisfaction of pacman’s demise.

Posted January 1, 2013 12:37 pm

I’m glad JMM managed to get his moment in the sun, but in their 5th fight Manny wins by KO.

Pac will get iced again. bet on it.

Posted January 1, 2013 3:23 am

Forreal, Nice posts, keep em coming.

Posted January 1, 2013 3:22 am

…look,i know plenty of so-called boxing fans(Pactards in disguise) that don’t even know what weight class he fights under, or is he a leftie or right handed;they keep arguing that Marquez “stepped” on PEDmans foot (they don’t know this is commom when a left & right hander fight)…they didn’t even know that PEDman was no longer a champion for PETE’S sake!!…so believe me when i say the things i said, and if you ask around other posters here,i’m sure they will tell you similar anecdotes.

forreal, your focus is way off. You’re just trying to irritate people by posting BS. I don’t get it.

…i don’t hate the man,but some of his fans are some of the biggest A S S HOLES on this planet(including the African Elephant),that it brings me nothing but JOY to see them eat crow & some humble pie for a while!!

forreal Happy New Year! Stop hating and enjoy the sport of boxing in stead of hating. Pac is not a bad dude. Marquez is neither. They gave the fans, that’s you and me, a great fight! Pac outlanded Marquez 96-54 but got dropped twice, the second time he was out. He took the loss like a true champion and congratulated the victor. What’s not to like?

Again, stop hating! Enjoy!

…these bofoons won’t be satisfied until PEDman is not so lucky next time to come out of the ring ALIVE after meeting his NEMESIS for the LAST time!!

Posted December 31, 2012 9:30 pm

The Mad Scientist, welcome to the forreal club!! You fit right in.

Sure Manny got KTFO by one of the strongest fighters in the game. Probably the best counterpuncher in boxing. And he took it like a man.

Why are you whining?

Posted December 31, 2012 9:27 pm

forreal, why are you throwing accusations of using PED at Manny of all people? Again, in the real world, everybody is talking about Angel Heredia, the top dog in the illegal PED business. The dude that Marion Jones’s trainer called to get her drugs to enable her to train ten hours a day without getting injured. Probably one of the most knowledgable people on earth about PED and how testing is performed. The dude will engineer a specific drug for you that is undetectable by any testing method known to man if you pay him enough. No BS.

And you forreal, the clown, is accusing Pacquiao of using PEDs. What are your arguments?

The Mad Scientist

Poor pactards still here trying to transfer their insecurities and fears onto Marquez and his fans..what can one expect, they already seen and experience the worse thing that can happen to Pacman so why not clamor for a 5th fight in hopes Marquez is finally their for the taking..after all their not the ones climbing into the ring and getting KTFOiao in front of the whole world..I find it funny how these same clowns were against the fourth fight but are now all for a 5th fight in hopes Manny can change to outcome to get the bitter taste out their mouth..anyways, Happy New Years to all!

Posted December 31, 2012 9:21 pm

forreal is such a hater. Just like a child he’s hating on everything and cares nothing about what’s going on. hahahaha, dude you need to up your game or change your alias if anybody on ESB is going to take you serious. The stuff you write about the sport is fanboyish BS. No substance to it. You talk about fighter’s wives. Angry kid :) Enjoy the sport in stead. two great warriors went at it for 6 rounds. One guy outlanded the other 96-54 and go kayoed by a perfect counter punch. Give credit to both guys and stop acting like an angry child.

forreal, i’m still waiting for your answer! got to go bro, i guess it’s safe to assume you’re one of those fans SCARED & HOPING there is no 5th fight. peace!

Pacpuiao has the record for former #1 pound per pound Ko’d the most with his 5 lost 3 by KO not good for his legacy as one of the best asian fighters ever time to move on guys.

forreal, you’ve been typing paragraphs in response to my question! all i ask is one 5 letter or one 6 letter word. again, if jmm refuses a 5th fight, smart or scared?

Posted December 31, 2012 6:00 pm

…i couldn’t care less if they fight for free, you guys are so sore that your fanaticism is blinding you..if they fight again, then they fight again!!,is just gonna be a replay of the 4th one!!

Posted December 31, 2012 5:56 pm

forreal, you just contradicted yourself. a few minutes ago you said “sure, why not”. now you’re implying that a 5th fight is not necessary. are you one of those fans doubting jmm can win their next fight? again, if jmm refuses a 5th fight, smart or scared?

Posted December 31, 2012 5:51 pm

…hey,Chicago G A Y,is that you??

Posted December 31, 2012 5:50 pm

…these two fought 4 times already;two controversial fights, a third one which decision was such a joke that a FOURTH one was needed to remove any doubts once & for all,and the whole world saw what happens;what more evidence you guys need to prove that Marquez IS the better fighter,PEDman’s body inside a bodybag??

Posted December 31, 2012 5:46 pm

forreal, smart or scared? is this question too much to answer? again, if jmm refuses a 5th fight, smart or scared?

Posted December 31, 2012 5:43 pm

forreal, what if jmm is the one who doesn’t want to go into retirement with what you call “not quite a dignified way of retirement”?

Posted December 31, 2012 5:39 pm

…ask PEDman’s old lady!!,who can forget her horrified face watching her hubby motionless body laying on the canvas for several minutes not knowing if this is the last time they would see each other again?;you might not care, but i’ll bet you a fortune that she does!!

forreal, god forbid, jmm refuses a 5th fight. smart or scared?

Posted December 31, 2012 5:31 pm

…sure!!,why not?…why not see PEDman FACE DOWN & BUTT UP once again?,not quiet a DIGNIFIED way to go into retirement, but if that’s what he and his fans, then Marquez has no choice but to OBLIGE!!

forreal, would you like to see them fight again?

Posted December 31, 2012 5:21 pm

forreal, favorites aside, jmm will be knocked out if there is a 5th fight! luck was on jmm’s side that night. the same luck hashim rahman had the night he knocked lennox lewis out. same scenario ( lewis vs rahman 2) is going to happen if they fight again. how would you look at jmm if he refuses to fight pac again? smart or scared?

Posted December 31, 2012 5:17 pm

…like it or not,Marquez has this man’s number and YES,if a fifth fight happens PEDman will be STOPPED or outright K.O’D again!!

Posted December 31, 2012 5:10 pm

forreal, pacman has proven in the past that he can come back from a ko loss. putting favorites aside, do you really think jmm can win a 5th fight? i’d give him a china man’s chance. sad but true!!!

Posted December 31, 2012 5:07 pm

…PEDman couldn’t even put a 140 pounder on the canvas(Bradley),let alone K.O anyone any longer;the last time he won a fight via TKO was against a worn out and catch-weighted Cotto and he still managed to at least go 12…no wonder Ariza is IMPLORING PEDman to go back to his “shakes”!!

Posted December 31, 2012 5:06 pm

why erase a perfect ending on a great carreer?! jmm should just retire! listen to your fans! because there’s very little chance you’re going to win a 5th fight! pacman will knock you out!

Posted December 31, 2012 5:02 pm

…and is quiet possible that PEDman could be damaged goods right now;a K.O of that magnitude has serious adverse effects on ANY fighter.Very, very few fighters recover to be 100% the same they were before. He can go ahead and fight Marquez 100 times, the result would be the same;PEDman fans are so sore from such devastating loss that they only want a fifth fight just for face-saving purposes. If Marquez K.O him again, who are they gonna blame next, the Mayweathers??

Posted December 31, 2012 4:59 pm

This is arums greed, this will end PACs career.

Posted December 31, 2012 4:57 pm

…99% of the time Marquez lands straight rights against PEDman, this time it just so happens that he landed it with EVERYTHING behind it,and the rest is history!!

Posted December 31, 2012 4:50 pm

Marquez was throwing for the fences! Marquez knew he was in trouble and had nothing to lose. All he had left was to throw bombs and hope something landed. Yeah, Pac got caught but 99% of the time thats not the case.

Posted December 31, 2012 4:46 pm

perfectly thrown punch! even inferior pugs like rahman is capable of throwing it! can’t wait for a 5th fight. if jmm refuses, he’ll be admitting to the whole world that what happened is a fluke!!!!!!

How about that Tumbo . . .”(?). RICH, you need to take your questions to Team Pacquiao’s* complaint department. after all, ONLY Pacquiao* has rejected OSTing. Marquez and Mayweather welcome it. in fact, Marquez essentially taunted Team Pacquiao* with his “Any time, Any test” response to Roach’s hand-wringing over Marquez’s improved physique before this last bout. as EVERY and ANY ESB poster will verify, NObody has been pounding the drum for Pacquiao* being randomly tested than Myself. “welcome” the drum circle. even though it’s only because Marquez almost killed Pacquiao* with his explosive Right, which was no more “juiced” or less legitimate than Pacquiao’s* Left, according to the NSAC. remember them? Team Pacquiao* and Pactards use to absolutely Adore Them as the ONLY testing standard that they would honor (lol). c’mon RICH: describe exactly what happened to suddenly change your mind? . . .

PEDcquiao is Clean

FORTY year old fighter is competitive with a SUPPOSED great? The PEDs are no longer as potent for the Pinoy PED express.

Posted December 31, 2012 5:36 am

the compubox numbers are heavily in favor of Pac in the 4th fight, he landed almost twice as many punhces, outlanded Marquez in every single round, including the 3d and the 6th. Marquez only landed more power punches in round 3 apart from that it’s Pac all the way.

Posted December 31, 2012 5:09 am

I’ve had many posts disappear on the “new ESB”. No foul language or anything like that. Sometimes my posts are “awaiting review” or something similar, which mean that they will never show up. Who’s deciding what stays and what goes?

Posted December 31, 2012 5:06 am

Great post TARK! I agree, Pacquiao needs to stay on his toes and NOT GO FOR THE KO to beat Marquez in the 5th fight. I think it’s a very winnable fight though Pac has a tendency to go to war and against Marquez with Heredia as his physical trainer, that is suicide for any one, not just Pac.

It’s amazing when you think how JMM has never won a fight with Pacq before, never put him down, even drinking his own piss to make him stronger……Then pushes a few weights, lots of shoulder presses and puts Pacq down twice…How about that Tumbo, you know more about peds,or so you think, than anyone, is it that easy….Sure they should fight again,,then we will know for sure…BTW Tumbo is your fruit & veg stall at the race track …..Viva Peds….

Thank You Boxtradumas.

Posted December 31, 2012 3:37 am

Pacquiao has never been able to avoid Marquez’s big shots and I doubt that he ever WILL…Pacquiao just needs to do away with the Marquez series and proclaim that “The ONLY guy in this World that can give ME a match is Juan Manuel Marquez. Anyone else will LOSE lopsidedly or get knocked out. SO I’m not going to let Floyd off the hook by Fighting the only guy that can possibly beat me. I’m going to take a break until Floyd takes the Fight….Please dont ask me when I’m coming back. Ask Floyd”….There’s A LOT of Suckers out there and they’ll fall for it. No need to risk another LOSS to Marquez…IF you’re going to take another LOSS might as well get Top Dollar for it….The only problem is that Floyd won’t take rhe Fight since Pac just got knocked out. That’s not his style. He doesn’t even like to face someone coming off of a LOSS. That’s why Berto missed out on a Floyd Fight.

Posted December 31, 2012 3:32 am

presumably, Pacquiao* could dial-it-back a notch and simply outpoint Marquez with a poised, disciplined, and speedy 12-round performance(?). intentionally so(?). that’s the problem. Pacquiao’s* previous underperformances have been unintentional. Marquez is now in Pacquiao’s* head. Manny* must now fight withOut the confidence that he can take Marquez’s punches. bottomline, Marquez’s power-game is a game-changer. it’s no longer the same rivalry. that rivalry is OVER. in the new one Marquez is the feared powerpuncher and Pacquiao* must become a master boxer-puncher. 40-years-old is the biggest factor in Manny’s* favor. otherwise, Pacquiao* can not avoid Marquez’s best punches for 12 rounds and then what? same result if not worse.

Angel needs to give JMP – Juan Mariod PEDquez more muscle pumping juice to make up for the age factor of JMP

Posted December 31, 2012 2:15 am

The Mad Scientist

Yes, Marquez is going to be 40 years old so out speeding him and out pointing him would be the best way to go for Manny in a possiblr 5th fight but let’s make one thing clear, Pacquiao has never out pointed Marquez..I dont care if two wins and a draw are registered for Pacquiao in the record books because the whole world knows documented footage says otherwise.

Posted December 31, 2012 1:55 am

Marquez knows all of Pacquiao’s tricks from their 42 rounds and 3000 punches thrown… JMM was laying in the weeds the whole fight and tagged Pac with 2 massive brutal shots… He was waiting, waiting, waiting, and waiting, almost like Joshua Clottey—but he threw more punches to give Pac opportunities to come forward, so he could really get those sweet openings… If a strategy works don’t mess with it—so chances are JMM will play the same game in the 5th fight … I would have Pac box JMM in the 5th fight with an emphasis on defense, speed, and pin-point punching from long range. Mostly very fast, speedy jabs and straight lefts. NO charges of the Light Brigade. NO trying for a KO. You haven’t knocked JMM out in 4 fights—so what are the odds? He’s going to be 40 years old so out-speed him, and out-point him. You’ve done that twice so that’s your best shot.

Posted December 31, 2012 12:03 am

…and remember, even Ariza advised PEDman to go back to his “regime”,”shakes”,”vitamins” or whatever the hell (?) it was he was under because otherwise is game over like in the real PACMAN game!!

Posted December 30, 2012 11:20 pm

…here’s the point;there’s a man(Marquez) who’s motto is “any testing,anytime,anywhere”…the other one,well,you get the picture!!

Posted December 30, 2012 11:12 pm

I know what I’m about to say is going to sound crazy; but if I were Mayweather; I wouldn’t even want a fight with Pacman at this juncture. Reason being is because; lets say the fight does happen; and he somehow beats the mess out of him or knock him out. You already know what’s coming next…..HE WAS ALREADY DAMAGED GOODS. You fought him too late; and he’s back to square one AGAIN; trying to convince the naysayers that he’s p4p the best!!!! Secondly; I don’t believe the fight will generate as much money at this juncture anyways since Pacmans recent decline in the ring. It will do well; but I don’t see it grossing over $100 million as originally planned!!!!

…OCTAVIOUS72;sad but so true!!

Posted December 30, 2012 10:50 pm

LOL; I’m laughing at the author because he says; “ARUM THINKS MARQUEZ IS THE SAME FIGHTER WHO HAD TWO CONTROVERSIAL DECISIONS WITH PACMAN”. The reason I find that funny is because; he actually thinks Arum gives a damn about either of these fighters. All Arum gives a DAMN about is making MONEY. That’s why he’s putting them in there for a fifth time. If Manny gets permanantly hurt; SO WHAT. He doesn’t care. He’ll move on to the next hot thing and make him his CASH COW!!!!

Posted December 30, 2012 10:47 pm

The Mad Scientist

If a 5th fight is made I see Pacquiao being reduced to what Juan Diaz was in his second against Marquez, tentative and more cautious unless Manny’s fighting instinct takes over and gets KTFOiao again..only way I see Marquez losing a possible 5th fight is if Pacquiao successfully plays it safe until the final bell and the judges do what they do best to Marquez and rob him yet again..pactards wont care either way, they’ll take the W how ever it may come and run with it..

Posted December 30, 2012 10:38 pm

Pacquiao is in trouble. I doubt if he’s going to desert Roach like Chavez and Khan did for their own good… They made a cold blooded business decisions—but Pac won’t do that. Pac has a soft spot for the fuzzy thinking Parkinson’s patient.. He will not put his career ahead of Roach.. I always saw that as a vulnerability for Pac in this series.. It would be a big vulnerability in a still possible Mayweather fight.. Your chief trainer is a key element.

The way I see it, Pacquiao will go forward with a 5th Marquez fight.. He’ll try his best to avoid a killer punch and win a decision. He’s younger and faster than JMM and has outpointed Marquez twice already—so he’s going to roll the dice. Pacquiao’s team is probably thinking, “With 3 wins over Juan Manuel Marquez the magic of Mayweather v Pacquiao can be revived.” … It could happen. The dream never dies.

Posted December 30, 2012 10:20 pm

What is the big deal, everybody knows Marquez is a superior counter puncher so, IMO it’s no surprise that he knocked out Pac!

Posted December 30, 2012 9:43 pm

te tumbo

HIDALGO, Marquez’s face displayed no serious damage during the post-fight interview beyond a small cut on the bridge of his nose. you and others only sound desperate trying to pump-up a bloody nose into imminent doom for Marquez. otherwise, the final tally is that Marquez took 2/5 rounds and ended it in the 6th with a KO of Pacquiao*. everything else was an illusion designed to lure Pacquiao* into Marquez’s powerpunching crosshairs. preCisely what Marquez described he would do because he was always confident that He was the greater fighter.

Posted December 30, 2012 9:05 pm

“Marquez was timing his ass and waiting fornthe big one, ” I think most of us are well aware of this rollin 99er. Marquez was clearly timing his counterpunching in their third fight. He knew what Pac would do, he knew he could effectively counter punch him, all he needed was the strength for a one-punch KO. He made that for their 4th fight.

Posted December 30, 2012 8:49 pm

Happyboy, I don’t disagree with you at all–Marquez’s KO punch was one for the books. But Pacquiao’s street fighter instincts got the better of him while Marquez stayed focused, under intense fire, then put Pac out. No doubt, and I wasn’t trying to minimize Marquez’s win. But Pac was tagging him, often and hard and Juan needed that punch because he was getting beat up. But by golly, Juan is a gladiator. I’ve never seen such concentration. Juan had a plan and he executed it to perfection. Still, I say he can’t do it twice in a row. Pacuiao will not make that mistake again.

TARK, that’s the context i’m referring too. not just the isolated brutality of Marquez’s KO win (or that it now qualifies as an example of gravity’s immutability) but rather the context and magnitude of Marquez’s win to Boxing. as Pacquiao* fans are still struggling to realize, nothing will ever be the same from now on . . . Viva Marquez!

Posted December 30, 2012 8:43 pm

“Arum is making a mistake by putting his fighter back in the ring directly with Marquez without some kind of test against a lower level fighter to see if Pacquiao can handle getting hit.” This is BS.

Posted December 30, 2012 8:30 pm

This article is a little lame. The author talks like Pacquiao would have NO chance in beating Marquez. Pac was up by one round on all three judges’ scorecards AND he was clearly winning the round he got KO’d in. There is no point in tuneup at this point. Top Rank already flushed one payday down the toilet (Mayweather). Why risk another one?

It’s possible to call this the greatest KO punch and number one KO of all time—because the combatants are 2 of the greatest fighters of all time—guys who fought 122 times across 8 weight divisions, winning 13 world championships between them … the combatants are contesting one of the most protracted fistic rivalries of all time … their series includes 3 extremely close fights where fans just couldn’t agree on a winner … the combatants met 4 times so far, from featherweight to welterweight … the combatants scored 7 knockdowns in their series … the KO punch was a pole-axing shot delivered with the suddenness of a bullet—and by light-years the most decisive punch of over 3,000 thrown in the series.. And of course you could have counted 1,000 over Pacquiao.

And Haimat, why show so much hate towards a man that never did YOU or your IDOL any harm other than ask for a reasonable & sensible additional RANDOM testing to make sure both fighters ARE clean of any illegal substances?…i mean,is that asking too much?

Posted December 30, 2012 7:47 pm

So I’m debating two hysterical Floyd fanboys now. Fair enough.

I would have liked Manny to agree to any and all of Floyd’s demands prefight just to make it happen. Newsflash for you boys, it doesn’t work like that. Both guys make decent money not fighting each other. The OST testing issue was dropped in 2010. This was all tactics on Floyd’s side. He didn’t want to fight the animal that was Pacquiao from when he fought Oscar until Margarito. After the testing issue Floyd wanted 75% of the money or something ridiculous like that. It was never about the testing. That fight didn’t materialize because of little gangbanger wannabe Floyd. He’s not friends with Arum so it’s a difficult fight to make… I don’t know how to explain it to you boys since you seem dead certain on your fanboy views.

Pretty much the entire world, except a few handfulls of Floyd fan boys like you two, know that it was mostly Floyd’s fault that that fight never happend. How come Manny fought everyone at WW during that time except Floyd?

forreal, answer my question about PEDs. Do you know how top athletes these days use PEDs to increase their performance? What kind of doping do you think Manny has been doing? What kind of doping do you think Marquez has been doing? What kind of doping do you think Floyd has been doing? I’ve tried my best to answer your rantings. Please do me the favor of answering a straight question.

My choice is “B”: Arum knew damn well that Pacquiao* had ZERO chance v. #1 P4P Floyd “the Natural” Mayweather. i’ve always believed this. it’s the guilty consciences of Pacquiao’s* fanboys that accuse me otherwise.

Posted December 30, 2012 7:23 pm

…Haimat, you can rave & rant all you want until new year but the fact is PEDman NEVER took any random testing to make the Floyd fight which potentailly could have been the BIGGEST money making fight in history;Ortiz,Mosley and Cotto did the testing for FAR LESS money, and even Cotto managed to put a good showing. There’s only two possibilities: A) PEDman was fearful of getting caught;or B) Arum knew damn well that PEDman had ZERO chance on beating Floyd.

Posted December 30, 2012 7:17 pm

te tumbo

Pacquiao* is the only fighter to ever reject harmless OSTing and a $25-$50 million payday to face his primary P4P rival. Marquez and Mayweather welcome it. Manny* is the only suspect Mfr in this equation. bottomline, Marquez was no more cleaner or “dirtier” than Pacquiao* was when he planted him face-first and butts-up into the ring canvas. Rivalry OVER.

Posted December 30, 2012 7:14 pm

forreal, you’re so dumb it’s difficult to have any form of discussion with you. But I’ll try…
Listen so you think Manny is using PEDs? Which PEDs? Do you even know how top athletes are using PEDs these days? What do you think the detection rate of your idol Floyd’s random testing thing is? Manny, Floyd, Marquez, every top fighter could very well be using PEDs as far as I know. They probably all have at some point or another.

What makes you seem even more ignorant is the fact that you keep on referring to this woman beating criminal Floyd’s cheap excuse not to fight as something of significance. Come on man! The dude is a low life with bad self esteem and beats women. Why would anyone listen to such a person? You are obviously taking notes every time Floyd’s opens his mouth which is laughable.

Posted December 30, 2012 7:09 pm

…Haimat, those 2 “wins” for PEDman that you’re reffering to were so incoclusive & controversial that a 3rd & 4th fight were needed to put this matter to rest…and indeed it has,CAPICHE??

Posted December 30, 2012 7:06 pm

te tumbo, I have no excuses. Marquez won fair and square. He’s an intelligent fighter and he knew that if he landed perfectly he’d win the fight and that’s what happened. Marquez was the better fighter that night. He’s never been better in his whole career imo. Why would the rivalry be over when Pac has 2 wins Marquez has 1 and one is a draw?

HAIMAT, take a cue from your idol Pacquiao* by remaining silent. even Team Pacquiao* has run out of the laundry list of excuses they usually trot-out to explain why Pacquiao* won(?) or didn’t lose. this time, Manny* was all-right with his god, family, and country. no more distractions. just a determination to go all out to answer all the questions and remove all doubt. Marquez was counting on it. Mission Accomplished. the rivalry is OVER. Viva Marquez!

Posted December 30, 2012 6:47 pm

forreal, why all the anger. PEDman? So the weaker guy who’s NOT assosiated with Mr PED in the World, Angel Heredia, is now the PED user? This Heredia dude supplied Marion Jones and all the other US track team with illegal PEDs. He’s been the top dog in his field(Illegal PEDs) for at least ten years and he’s Marquez’s trainer. You fan boys have a twisted way of telling things. Google him and do your home work ;) LOL

…two guys fight 4 times; 2 of those fights were so close that could have gone either way;the third one was a gift to PEDman & a disgrace to boxing…the fourth one ,the guy who’s tired of getting the shaft decides to put the matter to rest once & for all…and he does in a spectacular matter…so yes,we MUST conclude that Marquez is the better fighter, even though he’s older,he’s technically superior to PEDman and with ample power to put PEDman in dreamland as we all know.A fifth fight would be just to console die hard PEDman’s fans who still refuse to accept reality and this time PEDman might be put into retirement for good.

te tumbo, you are crazy. I wanted Pacquiao to fight Floyd in stead of the third Marquez fight but hey, it’s an imperfect world we live in.

So because Marquez won by a one punch KO according to te tumbo logics: “Marquez Is and has ALways Been Greater”. Wtf? You need to grow up. I know you’re not a kid since I’ve seen you here harassing people for ages. The fight was FOTY 2012. Great fight! and No, I would not draw that conclusion.

Both fighters should hire Angel Heredia and we’ll see one helluva fight in 2013 :) “Peak performances without doping are a fairytale.”- Angel Heredia in 2008

Te Tumbo,
Truth be told, i like and respect both fighters. However, i like to be objective. I just think a lot of ppl over glorified the KO and went on to make exaggerated statements based on that KO, because it was so devastating. But if brutal KO’S were the criteria by which we deemed one fighter greater than another, than alot of lesser fighters would unjustly be considered greater than better fighters because they had one sensational performance. In the end, your statements will reflect your admiration for the one you admire. Thats what a fan is. I respect that. Happy New Years everybody, be safe.

There is nothing more entertaining than reading all these ridiculous comments by wannabe boxing analysts with very limited knowledge of the sport. Apparently Pacman went from second in the pound for pound rankings to a scrub that should not dare step into the ring weith an old marquez. In case you didnt know, this is boxing and on any day, anyone can be KNOCKED OUT!!! Fighters know this and make adjustments going foward. So called boxing “aficionados” start cowering and making ridiculous statements like “…….. pacman wont be the same fighter” or ” he shouldnt get back in the ring with marquez”. This is so laughable!! Lets step back into reality for a second and talk about that fight. At the time of the knockout, pacman was taking charge of that fight and dominating the exchanges. If you had to put money on what was going to happen, you would say pacman was going to beat up the aging marquez, NO ONE expected that KO. Now its all about Marquez and his Muscle; when the reality is that a careless pacman walked into a perfect righthand!! The guy that writes this article claims it was inevitable marquez would eventually KO pacman, Yet in all their previous fights pacman somehow survived the KO. If they have a 5th fight(God forbid) i still put my money on Pacman. he is the younger fighter, he will come in more careful and test marquez’s endurance which is sure to be a question at his age.

Posted December 30, 2012 5:24 pm

The 3rd fight should of been a clear cut with for Marquez. A robbery would of been a draw. That is the reason why they gave Bradley the fight. In my opinion the record should read 2 to 2. But if they fight again Pac will lose again

a nine-year, four-fight rivalry culminated in a KO win for the 39-year-old Marquez who is now on the brink of retirement and has no obligation to extend his career just to console heartbroken Pacquiao* fans. it’s Team Pacquiao’s* fault for refusing to conclude this rivalry sooner and when they were both in their competitive primes and at optimal fighting-weights, not catchweights. ultimately, those couple of extra pounds of muscle proved decisive for Marquez and he now has the unique opportunity to end their legendary rivalry on his own terms. what does a 5th bout have to offer? besides, if Marquez’s Devastating KO of Pacquiao* isn’t enough to convince everyone that he is greater, then nothing will. not even a repeat of his previously devastating KO win (which is likely). consequently, the rivalry is OVER. Marquez is Greater. Viva Marquez!

K.C. – Pac 2, JMM 1, and a draw. The first three were so close either man could have won and I scored JMM winning 2 of the first three. There is no question who deserved the win the fourth, though. One of the best one punch KO’s in history.

Posted December 30, 2012 4:49 pm

Te Tumbo, im not talking about the history because those fights will be debated for the next thousand years. So I’m not even referring to the history. I’m referring to your weak position that Marquez’ is absolutely the “better fighter” “with finality and beyond all reasonable doubt” based on his KO victory in their last fight. You cant make statements like that based on one fight. Your argument wouldn’t stand a chance in a Court of law.

Posted December 30, 2012 4:29 pm

…and if there’s a fifth fight, the result would be the same:PEDman scoring his share of punches on the older & slower Marquez and Marquez hammering away with straight rights leading to the inevitable conclusion…another K.O loss for the soon to be retired PEDman.

Posted December 30, 2012 4:25 pm

You can’t call it a “desperation” punch when everyone knows, (specially Marquez) that PEDman is vulnerable to the RIGHT hand in any way, shape or form;he got dropped with one in the third and the exclamation point finally came on the sixth;desperation?,NO!…is called TIMING!!

Posted December 30, 2012 4:14 pm

Canelo Alverez is champion Trout is champion even Tonothy Bradley all under 30 in their primes and some of the best fighters. And if he wants redemption Bradley would be the best choice he got robbed in that fight. Mayweather would be the ultimate fight but doubt that will ever happen.

the Hearns v. Cuevas KO was more significant than Jackson v. Graham. it ended Pipino’s brutal run at the top and set Hearns up for his classic matchup v. WHAT?!? few remember and NOboy cares, i.e., Context is Everything . . . NEXT?

RICH, I Repeat: were Jackson and Graham great fighters? or simply dangerous contenders during a moment in boxing history? otherwise, the quality of competition DEFinitely determines the value of any ensuing KO. in which case, Hearns v. Duran, Tyson v. Berbick, McCallum v. Curry, Martinez v. Williams, and Marquez v. Pacquiao* all exceed the impact of a Jackson v. Graham matchup by any measure. anyone can pluck out isolated KOs from the amateur to the pros; from Cali to Indonesia; stawweight to heavyweight; and claim it was more brutal or punishing but context is what determines the value of a KO in Boxing. you need to stick to comic books and video games, son. you’re way out of your depth when it comes to my favorite sport (Jackson v. since when does the challenger dictate terms to the Still Reigning Champion? you’re back in 2003 with the same lame excuses for Pacquiao* not pursuing the red-hot rematch v. Marquez and instead targeting a presumably faded Morales coming off another flat-performance and Loss v. Barrera. Btw, Morales’ convincing win over Pacquiao* is his ONLY great performance at 130lbs. anyway, Pacquiao* cynically and deliberately postponing his day of reckoning has resulted in him being KTFO by a 39-year-old-bulked-up featherweight who is on the brink of retirement NOT initiating new rivalries, which is what a “5th” matchup v. Pacquiao* would be: the first fight of the rest of Manny’s* career. conversely, Marquez has the unique opportunity to end his legendary career on the highest note possible by ending the primary rivalry of his career with a win and the most DEVASTATING KO in Boxing History. Viva Marquez!

@ KC – Last time I checked Pacman barely escaped with a draw in their first fight. And even if you don’t think Marquez was robbed by the scorecards in the other two they were still controversial decisions for Pac. That’s why Roach and Pac agreed to a fourth fight. To answer all the questions they claimed. Pacquiao fans are just mad at the answer.

“St762410″, i have to conclude that you remain in severe denial and can’t seem to comprehend the finality of Marquez’s DEVASTATING KO of Manny* following three bouts during which Pacquiao* demonstrated less and less ability to foil, neutralize, or even KD the increasingly older Marquez. Pacquiao’s* ability to do so in spots in their last bout was nothing more than illusory traps created by Marquez to score a flash-KD and DEVASTATING KO. there is NO comparison with Lewis v. McCall or Rahman. nobody talks about the “Lewis v. Rahman” or “McCall” rivalry(?!). there was none. Lewis’ dominance was never in question nor did Rahman or McCall possess the promotional insulation to avoid Lewis for Nine (9) F’n Years. i constantly berated Team Pacquiao* for not immediately rematching Marquez, which Pactards constantly defended. IMO, even Pactards suspected that Marquez could and would defeat Pacquiao*. Nine (9) DISrespectful F’n Years Later, Marquez scored a victory that exceeded even my imagination and your nightmare. Marquez could not possibly improve upon this performance and he is now a 40-year-old featherweight with no obligation to extend his career as a catchwelter just to console heartbroken Pactards. consequently, the rivalry is officially OVER. consider it your education as a boxing (not only a Pacquioa*) fan: truly great fighers immediately redeem controversial decisions with red-hot rematches v. their primary rivals NOT hide behind their promoter to postpone them for Four (4) F’n Years.

Te Tumbo, u dance way to much. The question you asked was, (in your own words) “who is the better fighter between Marquez and pacquaio?” And in your own words you said, “Fight IV answered that question with Finality and Beyond ALL reasonable doubt.” You obviously were referring to the win by KO. Again, your position that Marquez is better than pac based on his KO in the last fight holds as much weight as a grain of sand. There are many great fighters that have gotten ko’ed by lesser opponents because they didnt train properly or they got careless. Buster Douglas KO’ed tyson on that one night. Does that mean hes better than tyson? Absolutely not.

Posted December 30, 2012 8:16 am

The writer is limited in his boxing knowledge. When has it ever been a good thing to be “looking to KO Pacquiao with every shot he throws”? Marquez might very well knock Pac out in the 5th fight but should Pac fight more disciplined and not rush in asking for the straight right counter punch he could very well put a beating on Marquez and stop him in the later rounds. This was indeed Pac’s best fight. He put a beating on Marquez but got careless and got knocked out. This was the event of the year. The fight of the year. The round of the year(5th). Let’s give credit to both fighters where credit is due. Marquez for doing everything to the best of his abilities and for trading with Manny. Manny for going for the KO and giving the fans an incredible fight.

Posted December 30, 2012 7:47 am

Eugthehuge, you’re way off target here. Did you even watch the fight? Pac was winning every round except for the third which he lost clearly. The judges also gave the fourth to Marquez which is questionable considering the cumpubox numbers. Watch the 5th round and especially Marquez’s face after the fifth round and rethink. This was a shoot out and Marquez connected first. Simple as that. Two great warriors!

TARK, i’m classifying Marquez’s KO of Pacquiao* as the #1 KO in Boxing History. a unique rivalry-bookend to the Biggest Choke in Boxing History. also courtesy of Marquez’s educated fists. anyway, it’s got stiff competition from the likes of Hearns v. Duran, McCallum v. Curry, Martinez v. Williams II, and Pacquiao* v. Hatton but when you place it in it’s proper historical context, it rises above them all for #1 KO in Boxing History. there’s been none greater.

Te Tumbo, the question u proposed is, “who is the better fighter between Marquez and pacquaio?” And your response is, “fight IV answered that question with finality and beyond all reasonable doubt.” But for u to say that Marquez is better than Pac because of his KO over pac is a weak argument. Rahman KO’ed Lewis. Does that make him better than Lewis? Wlad was beat badly by Brewster. Does that make him better than Wlad? No. You can’t make blanket statements like that based on one performance.

“If Pacquiao fights again in April it’s too soon.. It’s OK if he doesn’t get hit real hard—but that probably won’t work with JMM—who is pumping iron like he means business”, which is the central and inescapable point. coincidentally, Marquez’s KO-seeking fight-plan also happens to coincide with the very late stage of his career when punching-power is the final thing he can count on to respond. otherwise, for all intents and purposes, Marquez is a 40-year-old featherweight who would’ve never fought at catchwelter if not for Manny* being the target. Marquez became so obsessed that he actually convinced himself that Mayweather could be a steppingstone(?!?) to Pacquiao*(?!). Plan B with Heredia panned-out nicely in III and the decisive IV. the rivalry is OVER.

Pacquiao got crushed… I’ve seen many thousands of fights, and I’ve only seen guys fall on their face like that about 10 times… Martinez-Williams II—and Pacquiao-Marquez iV—are 2 of the 3 most devastating one-punch KO’s I’ve seen in major fights in 60 years.. The other one was Bob Foster vs Mike Quarry.
It takes much longer to recover from a one-punch KO than is generally assumed.. Antonio Tarver knocked Roy Jones out with 1-punch and Roy beat the 10 count. The fight had to be stopped because Roy was staggering around the ring like a fresh born giraff.. Only 4 months later Roy fought Glen Johnson.. He got nailed again—not as hard—and was out for 10 minutes.. This time Roy took more than a year off … a very wise move.
If Pacquiao fights again in April it’s too soon.. It’s OK if he doesn’t get hit real hard—but that probably won’t work with JMM—who is pumping iron like he means business.

Te tumbo you answered his question and I couldn’t agree with you more..these pactards are to dumb to realize that the only reason Marquez would be afraid to face Pacquiao a 5th time is he doesn’t want to get charged with homicide.. Happy New Years, be safe everybody..

“St762410″, my primary respose was that if the question was “who is the better fighter between Marquez and Pacquiao*?” fight IV answered that question with finality and beyond all reasonable doubt. there is nothing more to prove or improve for Marquez. particularly at this very late stage in his career. Peace and Happy Holidays to you.

Posted December 30, 2012 1:51 am

Te tumbo, U say that Marquez will continue to beat pac with “increasing ease” and that a fifth fight “would end the same for pacquaio or worse.” Wow. We couldn’t disagree more. Happy new years. Everybody be safe.

if Pacquiao* hadn’t disrespected Marquez by making him wait four years twice(?!) for a shot, dictating all the conditions, and always for the short-money, i might be eager for a 5th matchup between a still fresh and prime Marquez. unfortunately, since Team Punkuiao* insisted on dragging their feet and prolonging their rivalry fo Nine (9) F’n Years, Marquez should feel no obligation to extend his career any longer. after all, his mission to Destroy Pacquiao* is the primary reason he moved beyond bantamweight and featherweight to unify at lightweight before finallty cornering Pacquiao* at catchwelter. it’s Pacquiao’s* fault that Marquez is on the verge of retirement instead of in his competitive prime. that’s the way they planned it and now the rivalry is OVER.

“St762410”, if the question was “who is the better fighter between Marquez and Pacquiao*?” fight IV answered that question with finality and beyond all reasonable doubt. i am as confident as i ever was that Marquez is the superior fighter and will only continue to defeat Pacquiao* with increasing ease as he’s already demonstrated in all four of their fights. just to clarify: Marquez has Pacquiao* clocked and timed. i am 100% certain that a 5th match between Marquez and Pacquiao* would end the same for Pacquiao* or Worse. it was Marquez and Marquez alone who sustained their 9-Year rivalry across weight-classes, controversial decisions, and unfavorable conditions designed to discourage Marquez from even challenging Pacquiao* but Marquez persisted and now you must all accept that Marquez is Greater and the rivalry is OVER.

Posted December 30, 2012 1:04 am

Ok Eug, in a fifth fight, how confident are u that Marquez would win?

Posted December 30, 2012 12:38 am

The Mad Scientist

That was alot of desperation punches Marquez hit Pacquiao with through out the fight..I guess the accumulation of so many desperate punches finally soften Manny up for the last desperation punch that shook up the world..BOOM! Goes La Dinamita.

Posted December 30, 2012 12:34 am

“JMM lighting” stroke TWICE that night. JMM has the power to knock Pacquiao out for good, as the world already witnessed. A fifth fight between them would be unfair, though, with the other prospects at 140-147 lbs. There is so many people Manny and JMM could be fighting against. There was not even a title in dispute this last time they fought each other! And yes, JMM is 40 and on the verge of retirement, he is not even a real welterweight (he still holds the 140 lbs title), and for all the pactard amnesic fans, a rematch is pending against BRADLEY, who did NOT beat Pacquiao convincingly, and actually loss in the eyes of millions of boxing fans out there. So, from every point of view the intelligent thing to do for Manny is to beat Bradley first and afterwards challenge Marquez for the world welterweight title, IF Marquez is still around. If not, there is plenty of talent out there willing to masure forces against Packy.

Posted December 30, 2012 12:25 am

You sound like an ignorant bitter pactard. You don’t even remember Pacquiao was Knocked down TWICE in that fight. Were those TWO “desperation” punches? LOL!!!

Posted December 30, 2012 12:17 am

Manny was brutally KOed by marquez, the only decisive, undisputable result in all their 4 encounters. On the other hand, Pacquiao was robbed against Bradley. What is the natural rematch Pacquiao should be fighting first? BRADLEY!!! Marquez is too old, he ain’t got more than a couple of fights left. Pacquiao at this moment, if he has no permanent damage, can still dominate at 140-147 and forget about Marquez. Yes, it must be hard for him to acknowledge that grandpa Marquez is better than him and yes, millions of people will watch Marquez-Pacquiao V if it happens. But while it is a sure money-maker for everyone, it does not make sense strategically for Pacquiao’s career. Also, Marquez is the superior guy at this moment, and he will sure ask for the biggest share, and other contract conditions like date, venue, ring size, gloves, etc. Manny is so used to having control of everything during negotiations that I don’t believe he will agree to Marquez demands. So, why bother when Marquez will most likely retire very soon and there are so many good opponents at 140-147 lbs?

Posted December 30, 2012 12:16 am

Putang ina mo

You’re just a Pactard sour idiot.

Posted December 30, 2012 12:07 am

Te tumbo, it’s obvious that your not confident Marquez would win a fifth fight and you would rather him retire. However, u would rather hide behind a weak argument that it’s “over” when it’s not. Fact is, because of the outcome of the 4th fight public interest in another matchup is at an all time high. The only people not interested in a fifth fight are, for the most part, Marquez fans. I respect Marquez and IF he takes a fifth and wins then I will gladly eat my words.

Posted December 30, 2012 12:04 am

Te tumbo, u must be a dancer cause u just danced around my question. Again, in a fifth fight how confident are u that Marquez will win? Please stop dancing and answer the question. Thank u.

Posted December 29, 2012 11:48 pm

Manny should take a couple of tune up fights first, JMM has his timming down and can easily counter Manny who always comes in with his hands down, Styles are hard to change I think Manny ego is in the way of his better judgement and I think the results will be the same as last time maybe worse his health is more important period…

lucky punch

the legacy of pacman will never fade even if he got hit by a lucky punch of JMM ..Looking at the face of JMM i think if it goes at least round 9 TKO victory for the pacman….rematch is a must ….

Posted December 29, 2012 11:12 pm

So basically after 3 close fights that 2 Pac won and 1 draw, JMM got a decisive win so he is allowed to take the ball and go home without letting Pac redeem himself. JMM sat on the sidelines and fought no one of significance above 135 just waiting on a Pac shot and now wants to call ass since he got his decisive victory. BS. If Pac asks for a another match JMM should be obligated to give him one.

“St762410″(?), you are obviously still having trouble wrapping your mind around the finality of Marquez’s recent destruction of Pacquiao*. allow me to spell it out for You: It’s OVER. that phase of Marquez’s career is Done with. Fini. Kaput. OVER. particularly if you believe that the scorecards erred in favor of Pacquiao* in every one of their previous three bouts and each time more egregiously than the previous time. if this rivalry was redundant as most Pacquiao* fans and “experts” were saying before their 3rd matchup, it can only jump the shark following the explosive climax and decisive ending of their 4th. it’s OVER. that is why a 5th matchup would be redundant overkill. conversely, a victory over Bradley would seal Marquez’s ring-legacy for all time, i.e., in the future and forevermore it will be impossible to praise Pacquiao* without acknowledging that Marquez is Greater. I Repeat: the rivalry is OVER. Mabuhay ang Marquez!

Posted December 29, 2012 9:25 pm

Te tumbo, you obviously dont want Marquez to fight Pac again as u stated he has nothing to prove. You also stated that if pac takes a fifth fight he may risk permanent damage. So let me ask u this, how confident are you that Marquez will win a fifth fight? And if you are so confident of such a promising ending for Marquez, why wouldn’t u hope for a fifth fight? You contradict yourself. You make it sound as if Marquez would win a fifth fight yet you wouldn’t want Marquez to fight pac a fifth time. I want a fifth fight and I believe pac will win. My position is clear, yours isn’t.

Posted December 29, 2012 8:12 pm

That’s BS. If Pac wants to redeem himself. He should have the opportunity to do so.

Posted December 29, 2012 7:53 pm

hecdog’s a moron. jmm ends punkquiao’s life if a 5th fight is made. punkquiao is done.

Posted December 29, 2012 5:29 pm

The 4th fight was the “clear” result that every one wanted before the fight but because it went to Marquez greedy Bob wants to milk even more cash.Don’t understand all the hating,Marquez hit him with the perfect counter punch end of..why no rematch with Bradley if it was such a con, never gets a mention and we know why greedy Bob wants it all…..

HAPPYBOY, interesting comparison. Hearns had actually outBoxed and punished leonard for most of that bout but it’s never smart to underestimate a great champion, which leonard was at welter. this goes quadruple for a thoroughly proven and tested ring-warrior like Marquez but Team Pacquiao* consistently underestimated and disrespected Marquez with their lopsided conditions and predictions/threats of punishing KO wins for Manny*. IMO, this and other historical factors make Marquez’s victory the greatest KO in Boxing History. i can’t think of another that was more convincing or decisive in an almost 10-year rivalry or more legacy-defining in terms of each fighter’s respective careers. Mayweather may have been Pacquiao’s* #1 P4P rival on paper but Pacquiao’s* four actual bouts v. Marquez distinguish Juan with the status of being Manny’s most prominent rival. thanks to Marquez’s devastating KO win, the rivalry is now OVER and Marquez will always be remembered as greater.

Team Punkuiao* always avoided rematching Marquez. that is, until Nine (9) F’n DISrespectful Years Later and they became very confident of an overwhelming Pacquiao* KO win over a presumably older, smaller, ringworn, and compromised Marquez. they publicly declared and threatened as much themselves. every fight-fan should revel in the Boxing justice that Marquez forged for himself and every other Fighter with a lesser Name and promotional clout but superior fighting ability. Viva Marquez!

“He won’t wasting his time thinking he’s still got it because he’s picking up easy wins against some of Arum’s Top Rank fighters” why not? that’s the very foundation of Pacquiao’s* “greatness” above 130lbs. HIDALGO, you might as well quit repeating the broken nose lie. Marquez confirmed otherwise, on camera, in his dressing room immediately following the fight. not to mention during the post-fight interview during which Marquez’s face displayed standard sweeling and a small cut on the bridge of his nose. meanwhile, Marquez had won 2/3 rounds going into the 6th and if he had only scored a KD in that round, the fight would’ve been dead-even going into the 7th with momentum shifting in Marquez’s favor. besides, only a delusional and desperate fanboy counts Marquez out of a 12-round fight over a bloody nose(?!). anyway, the entire topic is MOOT thanks to Marquez planting Manny* face-first and butts-up into the ring canvas. Marquez either targets Bradley or retires. he’s got NOTHING more to prove or improve v. Pacquiao*. in fact, considering how Marquez’s performance improves with each fight, Pacquiao* is risking permanent damage (or worse) in a 5th encounter v. Marquez. the rivalry is OVER. Viva Marquez!

What a joke this will do nothing for Pacman fighting Marquez at 40 why not show your skills fight a top fighter in their prime Bradley would be good prove you got robbed and a way better fighter then Bradley but Arum is protecting Bradley his maybe future money make what a joke, will they go after a rematch with Ricky Hatton next Pacman get rid of Arum you dont need him,

I want to see you kiss the canvass and never get up

Posted December 29, 2012 1:31 pm

“With the exception of the KD and KO, MP was getting the better of JMM. ” Exiled Yank, Pac had busted Marquez’s nose and he was landing consistent hard shots to his head. Unfortunately for Pacquiao he got over-confident and careless while Marquez stayed composed under fire and then executed magnificently at the right moment. Probably one of the best-timed KO punches I have ever seen and likely in the history of boxing. But no doubt Marquez was hurt and in trouble. But you know, you never mess with a wounded animal. it might bite you!

Posted December 29, 2012 12:50 pm

Pac will do much better in their 5th fight. He was coming on strong when he got careless, then KOd. But now that he knows Juan can knock him out with one punch, he will fight much more cautiously. BTW, both of them should under go OSTD for their 5th fight. Let’s remove all doubt once and for all. Well, some of it. Seeing as how most PEDs can be masked nowadays, or administered/used in a manner that makes them undetectable….Anyways, I’m glad there’s a fifth fight. Talk about a gatebreaker, my prediction is that if this fight happens it will be the biggest, all-time grossing fight in boxing history. Marquez and Pacquiao will make mega-millions. Oh yeah, so will Snake Arum…er…Bob

Posted December 29, 2012 12:46 pm

If you believe Marquez, he’s only going to fight again if his wife allows him to. Manny’s wife wants him to retire as well but he apparently isn’t paying much attention to her since he’s already saying he’ll be back. I bet Marquez/Pacquaio V only happens if Marquez is offered the bigger share of the purse. After what he did in the last fight he deserves the bigger payday.

Posted December 29, 2012 11:57 am

Hoping to see Pac hopeless, down on the canvas once again.

Posted December 29, 2012 11:23 am

Typo: in the first three, JMM was more accurate while MP landed the harder shots.

Posted December 29, 2012 10:08 am

Exiled Yank

With the exception of the KD and KO, MP was getting the better of JMM. I would have never guessed that the tables would have turned so drastically. In the first three, it was JMM landing the the more accurate punches and JMM landing the harder shots. This time MP was landing more often and JMM was landing the power shots. What a strange turn of events. I’m all for another clash. The first four have been epic, why shouldn’t this one too?

people should cool all this talk about warm up fights. Why would Pacman risk a stupid warm up fight when he can get straight back in there. The first fight was very competative so there is no point,

Posted December 29, 2012 8:05 am

Desperation or not, he was getting beat bad before that punch. And hey, great job by Marquez on landing it.

Posted December 29, 2012 6:35 am

Desperation punch LOL you must have missed Marquez throwing that exact same punch in their previous fights or in his sparring sessions leading up to the fight.

Posted December 29, 2012 6:06 am

That fight was pacs best performance against marquez, minus the ko. Marquez was getting beat bad before his desperation punch landed. If Marquez didn’t land that shot pac would’ve gotten him out of there. In a fifth fight PAC wins by ko or tko
