It’s Me, Ernie

I was stating the official ruling, not your ill contrived fantasy.

Posted December 26, 2012 4:20 pm

Lewis didn’t stop Vitali… Vitali won on points because the those many deep jagged cuts were ripped open by illegal blows and the fight should have gone to the scorecards… I don’t go by official results but by who proved to be the better boxer…

Boxing is a corrupt sport with a lot of unjust official results.

It’s Me, Ernie

Yeah sorta like when Vitali was way way way ahead on all the scorecards right before Lennox stopped him.

Khan wasn’t beating Garcia at all… He was steadily giving Garcia all the insights and knowledge he needed to smash him with picture perfect counter shots.. Before the first round was ended Danny knew he had Khan.

Posted December 25, 2012 3:07 am

He was beating garcia for a couple of rds but someone must have forgotten to tell khan championship fights are 12 rds

Posted December 25, 2012 1:33 am

hey spedmond did roy Jones beat taver and joe calzaghi after the first tarver fight

Posted December 25, 2012 1:31 am

…someone will do a “Pacquiao” on him and shut his mouth for good!!

Posted December 24, 2012 2:26 am

No major controversy???? Sredmond, you’re an idiot as usual.. DOZENS of writers blasted the decision in Jones-Tarver I — because the fight was won by Tarver. Before their second fight Jones even admitted he LOST the first fight.. Who would know better than Jones??? Jones was all beaten up after the 1st fight and Tarver didn’t have a mark on him…

The fight was in Roy’s HOME TOWN and the crowd booed ROY and cheered AT.. Roy tried to put his arms up in victory after the decision was announced—but quickly retracted them because of the torrent of booing by his hometown fans—who cheered Tarver.

It reminded me of the LA crowd booing Lewis and cheering Vitali… The crowd knows.

Roy Jones TOTALLY won the first fight with Tarver, he was the Champion and in the latter rounds of what proved to be one of his most gutty performances he poured it on and got that nod… As per usual Tark is on the board rewriting history to suit his particular view of things…. There was NEVER a major controversy about the first fight which was competitive but belonged in Roys hands…

Garica was countering Khan very well for a young dude – he had a plan and it worked the result was inevitable – Khan will get ko’d again if he can accept he was just beaten by the better man

Posted December 23, 2012 5:03 am

When you get dropped 3 times and can’t make it through the 4th round — you pretty much are NOT winning easily… You’re getting thumped out early—by a kid who had 24 fights and will not reach his peak for another 5 years.

Paddy O’Trenchant

Blows to the head reduce lucidity.

…for a man with such a fragile jaw,he sure can run his mouth pretty damn good!!

Posted December 22, 2012 4:11 pm

Khan sounds no worse than all the vitali fans you get on this site whining about the Lewis fight.

Posted December 22, 2012 3:27 pm

The Best!

Thats like saying I almost won the Lotto but I didnt. Who gives a crap if you were doing better against Garcia you still got your ass handed to you.

Posted December 22, 2012 3:17 pm

Amir is and has always been delusional, but it’s hard when you realize that the dreams that you had will not come true. Amir has made a lot of money, but guess what, people now know, hit Amir and you win. Hey Amir, Molina was not that great, Amir must feel Like Rocky when Mickey told him a lot of his fights were fixed.

So Khan has now confirmed it; he’s not only arrogant, but he’s also stupid.

Posted December 22, 2012 12:14 pm

speed is the king over timing if you have the brain to use it otherwise timing wins every time.

Ha Ha yeh it looks like it in the photo

What’s this crap about Hatton working Floyd? Hatton said himself that everything he tried was completely ineffective. He believes Floyd beat him more convincingly than Pac. Floyd was just off-balance on the one shot that everyone rants about. Watch the fight again with HBO commentary, not the British broadcast that made out the check-hook was an anomaly.

HH makes a good point… Timing beats speed every day … i.e. timing and patience beats speed and Garcia has both. Khan is one of the greatest offensive fighters in the world. When he’s fighting a basic fighter like Kotelnik or Judah there’s nothing the guy can do. Because AK’s speed and accuracy overwhelm the average world champ. Khan was hitting Garcia too, but he wasn’t hurting him at all. Garcia was so cool and alert he was progressively seeing Khan’s punches better and better—and tagging Khan better with each passing minute. Khan actually had to run like he stole Danny’s wallet. Ridiculous! Danny’s dad and his corner were going nuts at first, but Garcia was smiling wryly like, “Not to worry people. I got this.” It reminded me of Floyd’s smile when his uncle was going nuts after the 2nd round with Mosley. Floyd grinned calmly as if saying, “You don’t know WTF you’re talking about so STFU” when Roger was telling him to box.

@ Big MIke… Roy Jones even admitted himself that Tarver beat him in the first fight… After the 3rd fight Roy admitted he would never have beaten Tarver, even at his best. Fighters make these candid and truthful statements at times—even if they change their story later. Like Jim Jeffries telling reporters after his lone defeat, “I never would have beaten Jack Johnson at my best. I would never have reached him in a 100 years.” Roy may have changed his story later, like Jeffries did, but he did admit Tarver beat him shortly before their 2nd fight … Tarver is older than Roy, beat him 3 times, and was never stopped in his life.

PED, Garcia called the shot before the fight. Hatton was working Floyd before the knockdown, Pacquiao timed Hatton, JMM timed Pacquiao.
Danny Garcia Pre-Presser: “Timing beats speed”. Credit to the kid for biding his time, under pressure. Garcia didn’t fold but kept his head and I’m damned to understand why this kid still doesn’t get any credit for his win. He will in the rematch.

Posted December 21, 2012 10:21 pm

Molina caught Khan flush with the shots but didn’t have any pop which was why he was in there.

Khan steps up again, he gets ironed out and it’s that simple.

Posted December 21, 2012 10:17 pm

Only Danny was smarter than you both.

Garcia will end your career in a rematch and I pray to god he gives you the rematch.

Posted December 21, 2012 10:15 pm

third world

but you got knocked out.this guy is really something.he beats an b-fighter, and he’s back to his delusions.unbelievable.

Real talk

I don’t get this loser! It will be the same out come! Pacman has a point!

Khan vs Manny — knocked out losers fight

Posted December 21, 2012 6:29 pm

te tumbo

“The fact that Khan is attributing his loss to Garcia as getting hit by a punch he shouldn’t have is a sign that Khan doesn’t seem to recognize that his defense isn’t that good”(?). perhaps it’s my reading comprehension that is faulty(?) but that statement is actually a concession that a defensive lapse allowed an otherwise defensible punch get through. anyway, it’s offensive lapses that keep getting Khan in trouble, i.e., too little balance between the two. Khan’s own hype and gym conquests apparently delude him into thinking he can simply blow-away any and every opponent with pure offensive fury. this is bound to result in openings that any busy puncher will inevitably exploit, e.g., punching is Maidana’s stock-and-trade; Garcia refused to retreat into a defensive shell and instead continued to throw punches to get Khan off of him. in both cases Khan disregarded sound defense and overestimated his own chin and offensive power. that’s a recipe for disaster.

Posted December 21, 2012 3:31 pm

PEDcquiao is Clean

I would have to agree with Khan. Yeah he got KTFO, but in reality that was a one sided fight until that shot. That was the only chance Garcia had. It happens, Khan wins in the rematch maybe puts Garcia him into Pacquiao sleep.

Posted December 21, 2012 3:18 pm

Boxers will always put down the problems… Khan isn’t the first to make excuses…

Roy Jones Jr… “I was dog tired in my 1st fight with Tarver, that’s why he beat me. In the rematch you’re going to see Tarver’s back against the ropes–not mine.” After the rematch. “Tarver caught me with a lucky punch.” After the 3rd fight. “Tarver would have beaten me at my best. His style is impossible for me.” … Muhammad Ali.., “Norton is slow and has no chin. He broke my jaw with a lucky shot in the first fight. In the 2nd fight I trained down too fine and had no energy. This time I’m punching a lot harder and I’m going to knock Norton out with 4 or 5 George Foreman left hooks. He’s wide open, has a glass chin, and I’m going to destroy him” …. You’re never going to convince certain people they ever really lost … Vince Lombardi.., “We had them beat. We ran out of time.”

Posted December 21, 2012 2:40 pm

Someone please shut this guy up! He’s delirious, too many punches to the head.

Posted December 21, 2012 2:24 pm

Ya, He would have whipped that bum if he could have gotten off the canvas! No, seriously Khan has a glass jaw and Garcia will beat him easily if there ever is a rematch!
