At the time, Kessler said that Bute was not good enough, like he mentioned that Miranda was not good enough, for him to meet earlier. It was true, in both cases. A lot of people said that Green was a threat to Kessler, in the super 6, when they were to meet, in a drained state, now Kessler and Green met, at Greens weight, you know what happened. Eventhough Kessler is underrated, I admit that Calzaghe had his number.

So why didn’t it happen then? Just put Kessler v Bute in Google, loads of talks were happening yet the fight never got made.

Carl`s the best

Say what?
You are saing that Kessler did not had the balls fighting Bute?
Kessler would at anytime finish Bute before 5th.
Take a nap.

‘unless Froch wants to fight another Yusaf Mack caliber fighter and take heat from the boxing media’ ?? if there is one fighter who doesn’t deserve that type of criticism it’s froch. His wilingness to fight the best and to give up home advantage in order to do so is unmatched in recent years.

Ward fans are just so afraid to see Ward travelling to Europe, Froch would chase Ward like he ran after Dirrell. You can’t win by running like a rabbit. Had the first Ward vs Froch fight lasted one two rounds longer, Ward had been Koed. Even the Ward camp can see that their man has nowhere to go, he is a paper champion. It is rabbit like, for Ward to chose to meet Pavlik, at this point.

Ps…………… I dont wana see Froch vs Ward !!!!! Only credible fights like the one hes taking against Pavlik.

Agree its Plain and simple….

People are crazy, I watched Froch get totally and completely dominated and schooled by Ward, It was embarrissing to watch. But here we are a while later talking like it never happened, how sad some of you blind stupid fools are…….

Froch lost against dirrell and was lucky to win against Taylor he ain’t elite his a good fighter

Posted November 24, 2012 8:59 am

Watch the fight. Ward beats him cleanly and doent hold. You are silly. Ward owned froch and will do it again no matter where the fight is

Posted November 24, 2012 8:37 am

History shows that boxers, who have no punch, are stalked by Froch, especially in Nottingham until they give up, Ward has no punch at all, and will be stalked, until he is Koed. When Ward is not allowed to jab, hold and move, his game is mediocre. In Europe the boxers are not allowed to hold that much, so Froch should rather easily beat Ward in Nottingham. Yes Ward has a great ring iq, but Dirrell, who at the time probably was better than Ward, ran for dear life in Nottingham.

Hey, that’s my Bike!!!

Boxtra – my point, to debate your argument, was that you expect Froch to travel, again, to fight Ward because he is the champ. Yet Ward has never travelled to prove himself out of his comfort zone. Also the experts at Ring magazine dont pay his bills and he would get more respect from supporters, who pay their hard earned money to watch fights if he took on a challenge overseas. This is what debating the points you make are, and not making up one sided arguments to bluff your point of view by trying to belittle another viewpoint which has no relevance to the original comment. Much like your predictions which you always lie about. Ward would make more money taking on the challenge of Froch in the UK and win or lose would make more money back home with his next fight due to gained respect for travelling.

Ray Ray

Ward beats Froch In any ring anywhere. Frochs power will have no effect on Wards defence….

Pavlik? Who?

Posted November 23, 2012 11:56 pm

Big Al

Ward thought fighting Froch in Atlantic City was an “away” fight. He thought fighting Abraham in Carson City was an “away” fight, and now he’s fighting in LA to satisfy the critics who say he won’t fight out of Oakland. What makes anyone think he’ll travel overseas. He wouldn’t even go to Canada for Bute.

I`d rather see Froch-Kessler next that is a more winnable fight and will give a better indication of whether Froch has improved. People crap on about Bute being exposed and a bum, but the truth is we don`t really know how good Bute is because he spent so long fighting B-/C level fighters, and so the relevances of Frochs win is unknown at this point. What isn`t unknown though is Froch’s attitude, he came off a loss in the final of the S6 and then went straight into the biggest fight he could find, and finally got to fight at home again. With Ward – I agree there is no compulsion for him to fight away from the US if he doesn`t want to, it is up to a challenger to become mandatory and win a purse bid if they want that (though this is impossible when you hold one of the other titles), but Ward I think is THAT good even if I don`t like his style, and he could do himself, and the perception of the US as insular the world of good by taking some fights away from home -it isn`t as though the US military has a problem with it :P .

After reading this crap (1 minute of my life I’ll never get back) I would just love to see the “slow” Pavlik wake up from his several year funk and one punch S.O.B. into oblivion. No really.

Ummmmmm you might want to check Ring Magazine. Ward is GETTING the respect he deserves that’s why he’s ranked #3 P4P….. When you make more punches travel and land on the opponent than yourself then you get respect from the EXPERTS. Physical location is no factor in that. AMATEURS and LOSERS will look for a reason to not give respect. That’s why they remain AMATEURS and LOSERS.

that’s: kessler or froch

Posted November 23, 2012 8:33 pm

oh, and for those of you who don’t think ward can “travel” (which seems to be sooooo important to some of you), he has fought on european soil in a tournament known as the olympics (in athens, greece) and beat all comers as he beat kessler and froch and won the LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT gold medal for his troubles, thank you very much. so that makes two global tournaments andre ward has fought AND NOT LOST A SINGLE FIGHT IN. pretty good record, no? we have yet to see kessler or ward do anything near this caliber of international competition. in any case: yes, ward has traveled.

Posted November 23, 2012 8:32 pm

“Boxtra can you tell me where Ward travelled as the challenger to win his first title? “-Nope. But I can tell you that 100 more punches travelled to Kessler’s FACE and BODY than Ward’s.

Posted November 23, 2012 8:13 pm

the only chance some of you silly little boys on this board give froch is if his management team could somehow lure ward over to dirty little nottingham to rob him of a decision the way andre dirrell got robbed. not in a million years will that happen. if and when they do fight, froch will take his rematch spanking on american soil like a good little boy.

Posted November 23, 2012 8:05 pm

carl froch is absolutey zero threat to andre ward, who ward proved to be a one-dimensional fighter. i mean, it’s shocking froch has NO INSIDE GAME to speak of. he’s great at distance, but so is ward. and if they fight again, ward will do the exact same thing he did to froch last time out: shove him into a phone booth and force him to deal with sharp physical infighting. the entire fight against ward, froch was lost at sea. he must’ve looked to his corner a good dozens times for assistance against ward. he didn’t know how to handle him. made zero adjustments from round to round. was completely overmatched. since their fight, ward’s only gotten better.

Posted November 23, 2012 8:04 pm

All so easy to say Bute was an hype job. Yet whilst all other 168lb’ers found away to avoid him, Carl Froch as per usual puts it all on the line and took the undefeated fighter on. Ward, Pavlik and Kessler all rumoured to be in talks with Bute yet none of them had the balls to step up.

Posted November 23, 2012 6:49 pm

One thing is for sure. Carl Froch is the biggest threat to Ward at 168lbs so that’s the fight that should happen. Ward knows this too.

Posted November 23, 2012 6:45 pm

Hey, that’s my Bike!!!

Boxtra can you tell me where Ward travelled as the challenger to win his first title? When Ward gets a passport and beats contenders away from home he will get all the respect he deserves.

Posted November 23, 2012 6:42 pm

The Prince

That’s funny – After his fight with Mack, he said he wanted to fight Kessler again. He claimed that Kessler was a true warrior, not a slick type like Ward. Now he’s calling out Ward. Don’t get too big headed Froch. Bute was a hype job and mack was a ready made win. Fighting Ward again will just make you realize, nothing has changed and you didn’t improve at all.

Posted November 23, 2012 6:41 pm

And OH YEAH Froch awaits another LOSS if he’s waiting on Ward.

Posted November 23, 2012 5:17 pm

I picked Hopkins to SPANK Pavlik and I picked Martinez to SPANK him TOO. YES Pavlik was the favorite in those Fights but favorite and WINNER are two different things. Pavlik can’t WIN vs. Ward whether they make him the favorite or not. SKILLS WINS Fights not ODDS.

Posted November 23, 2012 5:13 pm

Ward is a a dirty fighter. Dont care how many wins he has. The dude fights dirty

Posted November 23, 2012 5:12 pm

Fight Aficionado

“There‚Äôs little doubt that Ward will take care of the slow moving, slow punching Pavlik without any problems…” – Yes Ward should win and he’s probably a 3/1 favorite to do so. But you should not write off Pavlik. We don’t know which version of Pavlik is going into that ring. If it’s a prime Pavlik then he’s going to be very dangerous.

Posted November 23, 2012 5:02 pm

Boxing fans are so funny to me. Pacman was a huge underdog vs MAB the first time-Hopkins was a huge underdog vs Pav now here we are with Pac finally being a underdog again in a fight. This is the 1st time Pav was an underdog since the 1st Taylor fight. Fans wanna 4get that Taylor was fighting and beating some pretty good fighters but he was you what have u done for me lately fans. Pav is training his butt off I hope-I really hope and pray that Garcia is sparking a really hot fire under his ass. The writer tried to say Martinez handled Pav but he really didn’t-that was a tough fight for Sergio and Pav’s bad cut really helped him along with Pav being under trained and cutting REHAB short-with all that Pav did great vs Martinez IMO. I’m a true boxing fan and I say there’s no way Ward just runs thru a physically fit ready to fight Kelly Pavlik-no way-but we’ll see. I was on here 1 of a very few sayn Hopkins would beat Pav and now I’m sayn he’s going to give Ward hell win or lose

Posted November 23, 2012 4:18 pm

KING Ward will not travel to the CHALLENGERS hometown GOOD way to WISH though. IF you want the Crown then come to Oracle Arena like Dawson DID. And IF Ward has feather fists then EVERYONE should get them some Feather Fists. Chad Dawson agrees with ME on that.

Posted November 23, 2012 3:21 pm

Feather fist ward will not travel to Europe so let him beat up on alcoholics and druggies and weight drained fighters.

Posted November 23, 2012 3:05 pm

Pavlik has been mismanaged since the moment he took the title. Uncle Bob screw him again with this Ward fight.
