Esparza won that fight! Her opponent did not land a SINGLE punch in the last round, but the judges scored it 2-2. Olympic judging is even worse than professional, and that’s saying something. Good luck to Shields, she looks ready to face some professional male boxers!

Lola Jones is more accomplished as a two time world champion. Yet she was vilified by the NY Times for getting so much publicity via an aggressive marketing program in these Olympics. An Olympic bronze medal for someone who’s got huge ad campaigns isn’t much.

Marlen Esparza is endorsed by McDonalds, Coca Cola and Covergirl. She’s making buku bucks in endorsements alone. Whomever her agent is needs a raise because I don’t recall any athlete landing so many advertising deals with so little accomplishments to back it.
