@Tark you said he’s grown into his role as champion. That doesn’t make any sense. You can’t grow into your role as something without practicing at it or doing anything. I like Stiverne but that guys is prime to have his career stifled by Don King and inactivity.

And as for the power punchers you mentioned like Shavers, Cooney, Foreman Tyson. Getting knocked out or down yourself doesn’t detract from your own punching power. And most of them were past it or out of shape when those defeats happened. You’re saying Wilder would never lose to a calibre of fighter such as ‘Holyfield’ are you suggesting he’s a better fighter than Mike Tyson?

I honestly think Tark, your entire Wilder agenda is just part of your wider Klitschko agenda. I think you actually worry Wilder could knockout Klitschko one day and therefore must by default hype him up too much.

We still wait on your boxrec and ABA web links?

Tark

Did you recall how after the first Ruddock fight, Tyson admitted that Razor hit harder than he did?

Tyson never claimed to be the hardest puncher.

Tyson said he had the best chin in boxing not the best punch.

Wladimir loves the ‘Undefeated’ challenger to his Title. Wladimir knocks them out. Simple as that, Knocks them out !! Wilder is just another one. He will be an easy fight for Wlad.

It is the heavyweight division. We would like to be believers. Wilder is not a defensive god. Someone is going to touch that chin. Some us may become believers. Wilder’s chin looks cherry.

Bill Patrice Jones.., “Tark how on earth has Stiverne grown into his role as champ? He best Arreola in Spring 2013. A guy who had been beaten convincingly already by Vitali and Adamek. He then did NOTHING for a WHOLE YEAR until being matched with Arreola AGAIN. A guy he had beaten convincingly already and he beat him again so he’s WBC champion.” … That one’s easy.

Who else ever stopped Chris Arreola early??? A much better prepared Arreola. His counter shots showed another dimension you haven’t seen before.

It’s all about his mental preparation… He was zoned in and Chris was scared.

TARK

Fake Wilder says.., “We’re talking Foreman, Shavers Lyle Cooney Tyson type power. He could knockout a grizzly bear.”

Hmm… Those boys had power????

Is that why feather fisted Jimmy Young knocked Foreman on his ass and beat him???

Is that why Ron Stander and Jerry Quarry smashed Shavers OUT???

Is that why Lyle couldn’t stop punching bag Bugner???

Is that why light heavyweight Michael Spinks knocked Cooney out early???

And why Douglas.. Holyfield.. Lewis.. Williams.. and McBride all stopped Tyson???

Deontay Wilder will never lose to that caliber of fighter. He would smash those weak opponents so far out they’d be unconscious for a week and then moved to Intensive Care.

Or we could do some HOT Jambalaya!!! Get it all ready for the Alabama power machine that is Wilder. That’s some southern power right there. Take about 15 white cops down in Alabama to subdue Wilder. He’d be cracking skulls before you stopped him.

HOT JAMBALAYA!
WILDER GONNA FRI YA!

COS IF YOU HATE ON WILDER!

Wilder

Take it from me. Wilder will NEVER fight Klitschko. There’s no way Wladimir will ever fight someone as big as him with that kind of reach who can punch like he can. Wilder walks in the ring with Gavern, walks across the ring one two and Gavern’s down if he gets back up one combination and he’s out cold. Round one knockout again. No opponent yet to make it past 4. Wilder’s breaking records no one ever thought would be. Respect to Gavern because aint nobody out there calling out Wilder. Only guy ever did was Tyson Fury and he backed out. Wilder was gonna fight Chisora but couldn’t leave the U.S because of legal problems. Chisora aint mentioned his name again. Wilder will prove ya’ll wrong when he gets that oppurtunity at last against Stiverne. He’s gonna whup him in 4 or less and the fight with Wladimir will be hyped for years but never made. This guy’s power. I mean. He is hands down pound for pound the strongest natural puncher for a decade. His one shot power is better than Wladimir’s, and his technique isn’t anywhere near perfected. We’re talking Foreman, Shavers Lyle Cooney Tyson type power. He could knockout a grizzly bear. So ya’ll gonna hate because you don’t want a black charismatic U.S champion. But the future’s set. Wilder’s your sure bet. Big up Alabama all my boys down there. Time for some hot chilli spiced up Chicken and rice

@ Wilder is a fraud I agree with you there. Tark how on earth has Stiverne grown into his role as champ? He best Arreola in Spring 2013. A guy who had been beaten convincingly already by Vitali and Adamek. He then did NOTHING for a WHOLE YEAR until being matched with Arreola AGAIN. A guy he had beaten convincingly already and he beat him again so he’s WBC champion. You talk like since he won that title he’s made defenses against; Samuel Peter and Eddie Chambers and made a lot of noise about unification with Wladimir, looking better every performance. He hasn’t done ANYTHING I mean ANYTHING at all yet. It’s like me being promoted then taking 4 months off and growing into that role. Stiverne is no one important until he gets Wilder and Jennings out the way and proves his worth for fighting Wladimir.

“Stiverene has grown into his role as champ

He’s a belt holder and nothing more. Stiverne is not a real HW champion.

“Wilder gets credit no matter what.”

Why should he? What has he done to deserve credit? He’s ranked in the top 10 and he hasn’t beaten anyone in the top 50. He gets more credit than he deserves.

This is a very HIGH RISK fight for Deon. Gavern could KO Deon in this extremely high profile risky fight. This could be the fight of the year since everything is on the line for Deon, who is inline for a HW Title almost assuredly. Props go out to Gavern and Wilder for making this highly explosive HW Fight happen. If there is an upset, Gavern could become the next HW Champ of the world. We just may have Stiverne/Gavern or Gavern/Stiverne. Very RISKY for Wilder. Very Very Risky.

Posted August 15, 2014 11:09 am

And as for the Malik Scott dive. If Scott froze in fear and self doubt after being hit and then decided he didn’t want anymore of this then that’s not a dive, that’s just flat out quitting. Taking a dive means a pre fight arrangement to go down at a scheduled time.

Well i ran a half marathon on a weeks worth of training/notice and lets just say I paid for it dearly. A week notice, lol, or even two weeks, you can’t do any serious training or preperation in two weeks. Like tark said running is stupid, so gavern should just get on this guy keep his hands up and stay on him, look for opening and hopefully gavern can take wilder into the later runs see if he falls apart. It’s an opportunity for gavern, biggest fight of his life, maybe he has a rabbit in his had we don’t know about?

typo ‘gets no credit no matter what’

Posted August 15, 2014 10:43 am

Bill Patrice Jones

Wilder gets credit no matter what. When Stiverne knocked out the tough Kerton Manswell in round 2 on a big show on the undercard it was given good exposure and praise. Wilder demolishes Manswell in one round and the tough guy becomes a cab driver. In 2012 Lyakhovic has a tough entertaining brawl with Helenius (who was hyped like mad) losing in the 9th he’s considered a good test a former champion. Wilder demolishes Lyakhovic with one punch sending him into a coma the next year and Lyakhovic is relegated from stern former champion to cab driver. Malik Scott gets ripped off against Chisora with a fluky KO loss Derek as always (because he took a one armed K bro the distance) gets more credit than he deserves. Scott is KOed in the first by Wilder and is relegated to cab driver status. Firtha? He’s a good learning curve fight for Fury then he’s a cab driver for Wilder. I think they matched Wilder waaay too easy for a long time as well. I had my suspicions he was clearly protecting what he knew was a weak chin. Yet he seems 100 percent up for fighting Stiverne that’s the pepsi challenge for Wilder. If he blasts Stiverne away NO WAY can people keep legitimately calling him a bum

Wilder gave Gavern 6 or 7 days notice, so Gavern could train a couple days before the fight. Gavern is paid to lose the fight. What will Wilder’s instructions be? “Take a dive in the 1st round, or go a few rounds, then take a dive?

Jim Rich says.., “If I were gavern I would hide run duck, dodge, whatever, just try to take wilder the distance and embarass him. Wilder just has the right hand mostly. Move and block that right hand and wilder probably isn’t going to knock you out. Wilder is a one trick pony, jab right hand. Any good fighter will put wilder away.”

That’s a VERY STUPID strategy…and wouldn’t work.

Deontay would catch you with the jab, the straight right hand, and then the left hook… Malik Scott tried to run, so he could “take Deontay into the late rounds and baptise him.” … Malik lasted as long as Michael Spinks vs Mike Tyson. You just make it easier for Wilder to reach you when you run, because he’s so tall and his reach is phenominal.

Gaven has got to get on Deontay and stay on him. But He hasn’t shown the ability to do that… Bermane Stiverne showed he could stay on Arreola for 12 rounds… complete with a devastating left hook to the liver that put Chris down but not out. Maybe the fat helped.

Bermane broke Arreola’s nose and battered him for 12… That fight softened Chris up REAL good.. I see Stiverne going maybe 6 or 7 rounds with Deontay before getting knocked out.. But if he puts Deontay down – he’ll keep him down.

Stiverne is a cold-blooded killer at heart. A week out he starts seething. Once the bell rings he’s 100% on your case… Now that he has a World Title he’s more serious than ever.

Gavern needs to eat so I ain’t going blame him for taking what may be the biggest payday he can get right now. If I was gavern I would hide run duck, dodge, whatever, just try to take wilder the distance and embarass him. Wilder just has the right hand mostly. Move and block that right hand and wilder probably isn’t going to knock you out. Wilder is a one trick pony, jab right hand. Any good fighter will put wilder away. Stiverne is fat and out of shape mostly so I’m not sure he has the stamina to beat wilder unless he does some kind of superb roadwork. I think gavern making it to the final bell just make sure to keep the hands high will make this fight interesting, prove wilder is more bark than bite.

“I always want to fight the biggest and best fight.”
Jason Gavern (25-16-4, 11 KOs) vs Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KOs). Looks like someone is padding their record. I think they tryed to find someone who lost more fights but they were to busted up or recovering in the hospital to be his next opponent.
