Gotta love all these Mexicans like (te Tumbo) now making the Case for why The Great Boriqua Tito Trinidad beat Delahoya like Canelo beat Lara who ran all night long like Delahoya.. Lara did not hurt or back up Canelo like DelaRunner vs Tito, Lara backpeddled all night long like Delahoya who Back peddled for 6 rounds and then Flat out Ran for the next 6 Rounds.. Yeap, Delahoya Clearly lost to Trinidad.. just like Lara Lost to Canelo.. Glad to see all these Mexicans especially Dumbo now see the light… Well, Lara’s Jabs did fk up Canelos Face pretty Baddly all night long while DelaRunner didn’t even give Tito a scratch.. Seeing that I am CORRECT yet again Herron has DUCKED from the comment boards. Catching ME right after another WIN is like catching a CHAIN SAW. I’ll cut through YOU just like BUTTER. I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born! !!!!!!!Posted July 13, 2014 3:48 pm
Well which one is it, you flip-flopping big mouth?!! LOL”-OH don’t tell ME that MY Jester fooled YOU TOO. Lara is the Better Boxer but will LOSE by TWO blind MICE decision. Lara is one of the most difficult Boxers in the Sport to hit. Canelo is the FLASHIER puncher and sometimes FLASH defeats substance when it comes to people’s OPINIONS. People who put $2000 rims on a $1000 Car agree with ME on that.

NOPE. You predicted:
Hmmmm, or did Boxtra$$wipe say:
My, my, my! Nearly three months ago the real Boxtra$$wipe made the above predictions. And there was no other “Boxtradamus” making any other predictions on either of those two discussion threads.

Sorry MY personal Jesters but Canelo WON by TWO blind MICE decision just as I predicted! !!!!!! I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born! !!!!!Posted July 13, 2014 3:00 am
Too much movement by Lara and not enough punches= defeat for Lara…Carnello should fight Andrade next because he will definitely come to fight unlike Lara…Posted July 13, 2014 1:19 am

Vivek I wrongly said “Vivek, since when is Canelo as pressure fighter” ooops, my bad, I meant to say “since when is LARA a pressure fighter?” Maybe you noticed my typo error. Peace!Posted July 12, 2014 10:37 pm
If anything…Angulo showed Canelo the blueprint on how to beat Lara. Simple. Apply pressure and he will kneel. Lara has been knocked down before, you do realize that, dont you? Did Mayweather knock down Canelo? Better rethink your decision. At a young age Canelo went up against a P4P fighter. Lara went up against Trout(Canelo’s leftover) then struggled with Angulo. Even worse, Angulo was already battleworn (Kirkland beatdown). STILL, Lara got knocked down by Angulo. Canelo, however, made easy work of Angulo, people were saying it was Canelo’s FIRST real test with Angulo. How did that turn out? Then same thing was said about Trout (who was undefeated) who had just beaten Cotto. Now it the same thing. Lara will be his FIRST real test….lol. History repeats itself.Posted July 12, 2014 10:04 pm
Z, Wallace doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I mean could he have been any more general about his “Keys to Victory?”Posted July 12, 2014 9:44 pm
Typical Wallace prediction. SD with high potential for upsetPosted July 12, 2014 9:42 pm
Hope after Lara loses he doesnt bite the hand that fed him.Posted July 12, 2014 8:15 pm
Yea im sure Canelo already knows that Lara will fight on the outside. Lara thinks Canelo is Angulo and believes he can fight as good as Mayweather. That should already tell you Lara is underestimating Canelo. Bad for Lara and good for Canelo.Posted July 12, 2014 8:14 pm
Lara will walk Canelo down the second half of the fight and knock him out.Posted July 12, 2014 7:53 pm
Lara won’t be KO’d, if anything that slow footed over hyped Ginger kid will get stopped.
Canelo – average Mexican fighter massively over hyped.
Salvador Sanchez – the real deal and the best Mexican fighter of all time.Posted July 12, 2014 7:45 pm
Its gonna be funny as hell if Lara gets KOed. Then what you all gonna say? …lol “He wasnt ready!”Posted July 12, 2014 7:33 pm
Lara has only one way to win and that’s by stoppage. If Lara doesn’t KO Canelo, he will lose, even if he wins every single round, Lara will still lose, the same as what happened when Richard Abril totally out boxed Brandon Rios for a total shut out, and still lost.Posted July 12, 2014 7:24 pm
Poor lara is going to kick canelos ass and still come out with an L. Unless he wins by koPosted July 12, 2014 7:01 pm
ODH by unanimous decision. Oops I meant canelo lmaoPosted July 12, 2014 7:00 pm
LolPosted July 12, 2014 6:38 pm
I mean Lara get’s ko’dPosted July 12, 2014 6:35 pm
LARA BY KO!!Posted July 12, 2014 6:23 pm
Lara can win if the fights not close. Still that’ll be tuff cause everything points to this fight being close. Alvarez by SD/MD unless Lara fights the perfect fight.Posted July 12, 2014 6:20 pm
ODH production Lara has to win by KO judges will give it to Canelo remember Mayweather vs Canelo one judge had Canelo winning.Posted July 12, 2014 5:55 pm
So, according to this article, Lara has to score a knockdown to have any chance to win this fight; however, if Canelo scores a knockdown he is guaranteed to win. That says it all and further shows how these undeserving fighters keep winning. You guys are funny! Angulo lost because of a damaged eye? It was Lara’s fist that did that damage. Angulo is one tuff SOB who got his ” will” broken. There’s no pretending that Angulo took a beating in that fight, starting with round one. The most important factor in this fight is Canelo’s ability to take a punch because he going to get punched a lot. Can he take the punishment that Angulo did before he subcomed and quit. When was the last time we witnessed that? The Angulo that Canelo faced was a broken fighter via Lara’s fist. Vis Lara’s fist, Trout is now a broken fighter too. Keep it real!Posted July 12, 2014 5:45 pm
Lara isn’t getting past canelo and Floyd will ko Lara.Posted July 12, 2014 5:15 pm
Lara easily outboxes Carnello but very skeptical about the judges in this fight giving it to Carnello, seeing he is such a cash cow for Dela Hoya…Carnello”s only chance is to knock Lara out…other then that he gets another boxing lesson from a smooth soutpaw.Posted July 12, 2014 5:13 pm
oh and Lara thinks that he is gonna fight like Mayweather?…haha good luck. Dude gets hit often. Alvarez has a good chin and Lara gets dropped easily. Canelo by UD.Posted July 12, 2014 4:42 pm
I have to agree that Canelo does need to change up his trainers but no fk way is Lara gonna beat him.Posted July 12, 2014 4:39 pm
Canelo was exposed by Mayweather. He lacks a good corner. Chapo and his son are not real trainers. They are Canelo’s motivational speakers. Canelo once again is going to be in trouble and Chapo is just going to tell him to keep doing same old $hit no adjustments and Lara is going to KO Canelo in the 10th round.Posted July 12, 2014 4:36 pm
I don’t think we’ll see either fighter come out fast.Posted July 12, 2014 4:28 pm
Lara will land more, Canelo will land more eye-catching punches.
Canelo’s combinations look brutal when he gets them going, and people can forget that for the other 2:45 of the round the other guy was the only one fulfilling scoring criteria.
The southpaw-orthodox thing is also going to make his look awkward, and we might see a dodgy knockdown from Canelo stepping on Lara’s foot.
I`m calling a UD to Canelo by the judges, but which I personally would have scored to Lara.
I DO NOT TRUST US judges one tiny little bit.Posted July 12, 2014 4:22 pm

. . . but I’ve gotta say, this is perhaps Vivek’s best-written blog on ESB. none of the “decimate” for “devastate” catachresis-prone bungles typical of his previous work. he must be reading more than writing. nice piece of work.Posted July 12, 2014 2:50 pm
F’K(?!). i’ve gotta hope that my prediction of Canelo by KO/TKO within 10 is strong enough to neutralize the “Vito” jinx. otherwise, an equivocating “razor-thin SD” for Canelo from “Vito” reads like a Lara by UD to me.Posted July 12, 2014 2:44 pm
dont you get a big green new plastic belt today if you win a fight at catchweight.Posted July 12, 2014 2:38 pm
Lara should win it by unanimous decision. Canelo will not outbox him. If Canelo wins it wilk be a KO or the judges will steal it for him, but I am picking lara.Posted July 12, 2014 2:35 pm
I agree Lara was robbed in the Williams fight but Williams wasn’t missing his right neither. Also Momina should of got the W against Lara. Lara was lucky to get a draw. And against Vanes he was lucky in a draw there. Neither fighter looked like they wanted to winPosted July 12, 2014 2:34 pm
this is a middleweight fight anything 155 to 160 is middleweight if alvarez wants to fight at middleweight let him take on Triple GGG not some weak delusional x commie defector turncoat who has no power or staminaPosted July 12, 2014 2:23 pm
I’m rooting for Canello because I don’t like the cockiness Lara showed with his cocked head in the face off at the weigh in.Posted July 12, 2014 2:20 pm
if lara promises to repatriate to cuba if he loses by KO ill watch otherwise im boycotting this farcePosted July 12, 2014 2:17 pm
EZ E `I’m going with Canelo by decision, with NO “But IFs” “What IF Lara does this” or “Canelo that” FLIP FLOPPING excuses.`Posted July 12, 2014 2:14 pm
i haven’t read the article yet but please, oh PLEASE don’t let “Vito” pick Canelo . . .Posted July 12, 2014 2:12 pm
Lara was robbed in the P. Williams fight. His straight left down the middle could not miss in that fight.Posted July 12, 2014 2:11 pm
Fight is at a Catchweight so there is no title on the line. Canelo didn’t want to fight for Lara’s title which saves them a sanctioning feePosted July 12, 2014 2:02 pm
@VIVEK ahhh.. You said SAUL ‘CANELO’ ALVAREZ via RAZOR THIN SPLIT DECISION
Since when is Canelo a PRESSURE fighter, especially vs a fighter like Canelo?? Did you see a him PRESSING Freddy Hernandez, Angulo, Molina or.. Vanes? Lara is the better technician, Canelo a bit more heavier handed, Lara more mobile but has his defensive issues as well.
Anyway, I’m going with Canelo by decision, with NO “But IFs” “What IF Lara does this” or “Canelo that” FLIP FLOPPING excuses. Only a judges ‘robbery’ argument will be considered. And… I’m Puerto Rican but I believe that both Juanma and Oquendo were added to the card to lose and… both will, but I will be rooting for then regardless. Peace!Posted July 12, 2014 1:44 pm
I am not sure about this article. I would say the keys to victory are simpler and more obvious. Some of these things have already been negotiated:
– Size of the ring … big ring favors Lara, small ring favors Alvarez
– Movement … Lara does not have to walk through fire like the author says. Lara has to go to the body and then move with his hands up. Lara has to hit Alvarez to the body hard and then make Alvarez chase him. If Lara can do this for 7-8 rounds he has a chance to knockout a gassed Alvarez. If Lara stays in front and exchanges with Alvarez, Lara gets knocked out.
– Knockout … Lara has to get a knockout. We would all hope that judges are fair and honest. But given the money potential of Alvarez and Alvarez vs. Cotto and Alvarez vs. Golovkin and other match-ups — I don’t see any way that Lara wins a decision.
Ring size, movement, and get the knockout. If the ring is big and if Lara goes to the body and moves — he can win by knockout in 9-10th round. If Lara doesn’t do these things then Alvarez will win by either knockout or decision fairly easily.Posted July 12, 2014 1:24 pm
The oracle of Delphi
Lara by stoppage.Posted July 12, 2014 1:21 pm
Getting called out by a anonymous? piss off slime.
The only reason fools are even considering for a second that May vs Maidana might have been FOTY is because Mayweather was involved. Objectively the fight wasnt even that good. Lots of clinching, not a lot of shots landed, lots of referree seperations – no one even got rocked. To call this FOTY is to insult each and every fighter who was involved in a much better fight.
Molina vs Mathysse, Crawford vs Gamboa are on a whole different level of fight but no just because someone pushed mayweather it has to be FOTY …absolutely pathetic.Posted July 12, 2014 1:16 pm
lara for the win. unless carot top lands the big shot. lolPosted July 12, 2014 1:13 pm
Wow great article Vivek! however, respectfully I am going against your prediction Lara will KO Canelo on Round 10..Posted July 12, 2014 1:03 pm
Oh yeah, almost forgot, Mayweather Maidana fight of the year? Come off it!Posted July 12, 2014 12:53 pm
Lara by ud but corruption gives Canelo a sd.Posted July 12, 2014 12:51 pm
Lara on points, he is the more polished fighter.Posted July 12, 2014 12:45 pm
i usually go w/ skills over everything else. i do think lara is a more skilled boxer, just i think canelo is going to catch him. lara doesn’t seem to have a great chin and he is hittable. canelo is much more powerful than angulo, much faster too. canelo via ko.Posted July 12, 2014 12:40 pm
Canelo Alvarez will take over the spot light tonight and STOP Lara. He now has the experience, and will wear out Lara as the fight progresses. Lara’s chicken legs will not hold up and his delicate chin will be exposed. Look for the right uppercut, right hooks and the body punches to wear Lara out. He will end up like Gamboa. Canelo will have an enormous following in the arena, and the Mexican pride will carry him to a stunning and vicious stoppage. Lara spoke a bit too much, which has Canelo very, very motivated. Canelo stops him.Posted July 12, 2014 12:38 pm
I like lara but that freaking mexican its so strong…..GOD gave mexicans a gift that was denied to any other population of the planet earth and that is resilience. ..and the ability to take and absorb punishment. …those aztecs descendant. ..are so fuuucking toughPosted July 12, 2014 12:27 pm
Is there any drug testing for this fight because it’s strange how Canelo drops weight so fast then balloons up 20 to 30lbsPosted July 12, 2014 12:21 pm
joker. You panned Vivek for calling Mayweather v Maidana as fight of the year. where are your balls you twerp. What is your fight of the year then?Posted July 12, 2014 12:21 pm

WONKPosted July 12, 2014 11:18 am
Why was this fight at a catch-weight? If 154 is the light middleweight limit, then why 155? A pound doesn’t really matter. Does either man have a title to lose at 154? If so, then I understand why the fight is 155. But if there’s no title at stake, then why a catch-weight? Who began this catch-weight crap anyway?Posted July 12, 2014 11:11 am
Canelo by late stoppage around 9th or 10th round or decisionPosted July 12, 2014 11:04 am
Weight limit should have been 154 – No need for catch weights – Lara by UD or late stoppagePosted July 12, 2014 10:56 am
I’m back and forth on this fight. Both have problems to overcome to win: Canelo his plodding footwork which can make him look pedestrian; Lara his discomfort inside. I hope without confidence the judges don’t “influence” the result.Posted July 12, 2014 10:54 am
The objectivity of the judging is the unknown which I fear. If they are objective, then I believe that Lara should win. If not, then only C.J. Ross knows.Posted July 12, 2014 10:31 am
