Where did all the GD comments go? This is where our post-weigh in predictions were but now there’s only a handful of posts. So now in addition to copying our comments before posting (to prevent deletion) now we must post predictions in several threads (to prevent deletion)?

correction * left* if you are *left* handed

Joker

Ok sorry garbage was a bit much, i apologize. What i meant to say that for alot of fighters (just a novice myself but i have also noticed this) is that its very hard, i would go so far as to call it unnatural to circle right if you are right handed and left if you are right handed. It can be used to break up the pace, as a change up, but to do it all night you are going to be hamstringing yourself IMO

BTW, joker, I agree with you on the other thread about FOTY. Mathyesse/Molina has to be up on top thus far.

Garbage? Well let’s put it this way, if he doesn’t try and exit exchanges to his left he’ll get caught with left hooks. But obvious he’ll need to move to his right to get momentum on his straight lefts. Anyway we’ll soon see what transpires.

Posted July 12, 2014 6:15 pm

joker

Eish tomato you know how hard it is to move to your left al night as a southpaw? Something tels me u never tried doing it in the ring if u did then u woulfnt come up with this garbage

Angulo didn’t stop Lara. But if Lara gets lazy while leaving exchanges Canelo will have an easy time catching him with his left hook. But if Lara fights smart circles to his left throughout the fight, he’ll take the lefthook away. But he better watch out for Canelo’s straight right as well.

Re: tomato can. People are saying a stoppage is likely because of the angulo vs lara fight!

In boxing a fighter can peak at any age. All it takes is one war to rip a fighters peak away for good.

A lot of fans are saying that Canelo or Lara will be winning by knockout. On paper this one should go the distance. Canelo will probably win the majority of the early rounds but by the mid rounds things should start evening up. The problem is Lara might have to dig him self out of, too big, of hole to get the victory. I think Canelo will win a close fight by way of SD or MD.

Canelo looks like he’s about to cry in those stare downs.. LOL It’s the look he had after Mayweather Biatch Slapped him from post to post in humiliating fashion..

DaTruth Hurtz

Lara is going to humiliate and KO Canelo you’ll see…

Tj ill have to have a look at him and I just hope canelo can improve as i think he can rip through 54 and 160. He just looks like he still wants to get better and learn from what i see of him. Hopefully he has a good win tomorrow and then gets a shot at cottos title, I think he takes that. He openly says he wants the hardest fights so let’s good that’s true then who knows what he could do :)

SALVADOR SANCHEZ (IMHO one of the finest fighters I’ve ever seen) was long time Featherweight champion, having turned back the likes of Azumah Nelson, Wilfredo Gomez, Juan LaPorte, Ruben Castillo and Danny Lopez, to name a few.
Sadly, he was taken from us at age 23 but he had already achieved so much more than many boxers who will fight for twice his career length.
You may have a point though, because prior to his death he had targeted a move up and fresh challenges… If you get a chance take a look at how fluent he was and could fight just as hard in the 15th round as he did in the 1st (actually he got stronger the longer the fight progressed)!

It was agreed that the fight be at 155 so canelo couldn’t take Lara title even if he wins

Posted July 12, 2014 5:40 am

WHAT!?!

So what’s the go with this fight? They are both overweight. Is this a new weight class? Heavier then light but not as heavy as Middleweight division.

Posted July 12, 2014 5:17 am

Auzbox

That might be true but at 23 your still growing in strength so in his case def not at his peak.

TARK

Boxers peak at different ages. There’s no set rule.

Canelo turned pro at 15 so he’s been at it for over 8 years already.. Marciano’s whole pro career lasted 8 years.. That’s a damned short career and he had only 4 more fights than Canelo has already.

Smokin’ Joe Frazier and Sugar Ray Leonard had 30-something wins.. They were done pretty young.

Wilfred Benitez was world champ by 17 and washed up at 25.. He couldn’t take a punch anymore.. Terry Norris made Ray Leonard look like a slowpoke — but his chin did him in early.

A lot of guys who start as small children never develop chin problems and go until they’re 40.. Shane Mosley and Roy Jones just want to keep fighting. But they sound like they have head colds.. Even if your neurological tests are negative for any problems, if your voice is a little off I think you should retire.

Lennox Lewis and the Klitschko Bros sound good. Floyd sounds good. Marquez sounds really good. Age is not the determinant. It’s how you look, sound, feel, and perform.

Auzbox

Well that’s fact he isn’t at his best yet that’s for sure. You don’t just think because mayweather took his 0 that he was at his best? I would hope not anyone with a brain would know your not at your peak in boxing at 23 :)

Posted July 12, 2014 3:57 am

Crystal Ball

I think AUZBOX hits his peak everyday, usually twice on every Pacquiao article.

Posted July 12, 2014 3:34 am

Auzbox

If Lara beats canelo he has beat the best canelo yet. He is improving every fight and is not near his prime yet. 24 next week and they say you don’t hit your peak till 28-30 in boxing.
