Sremond mumbles.., “Lara who is gonna have to fight in order to get the win against Alvarez..”
Lara doesn’t have to fight, he has to box.. That how you beat Canelo … not by fighting him. He has to do a rerun of his Trout fight — make it a boxing match.Posted June 30, 2014 7:35 pm
DaTruth Since there are no Mexicans that can fairly beat Paquiao??? What do you call Marquez he KTFO of Manny put him to sleep he is a Mexican. Manny been dropped 5 times, Floyd zero no comparisons. Marquez has Manny number. And Floyd walked all over Marquez…lolPosted June 30, 2014 7:22 pm
Tumbo only roots for Floyd over Paquiao because Paquiao has single handedly ended Mexican Boxing in the lighter weights.. Since there are no Mexicans that can fairly beat Paquiao he has to suckle Floyds nutsack.. he did the same thing sucklin Hopkins nutzz because Tito Trinidad destroyed all Mexicans at the Welter weights.Posted June 30, 2014 7:09 pm

Canelo is fighting at a catch weight of 155lbs not 154lbs, second fight where he couldn’t make the 154lb weight limit.Posted June 30, 2014 2:39 pm
What up guys……
This should be a good fight, two good boxer against each others, canelo mention that the way to. Eat Lara was through Constance pressure, but he not a slugger, funny be that just the way to beat canelo himself a boxer .LOL most boxer fight there best when they have time to plan a entrance attack, and complete mission and start over again. There fight.
Lara I feel would be a slugger in this case, as he a strong counter puncher, and it’s a deadly left hand, his strong spot. Both has a good offence combo, about even their.
Lara is NOT Floyd Mayweather and he never will be, the man is a very good, very talented fighter but by the age of 30 Mayweather was a multi-weight Champ and considered the BEST boxer in the sport… A lot of the accolades Lara is receives are because his smooth style evokes comparisons to Mayweather, but again he is NOT Floyd Mayweather… Canelo has an EXCELLENT chance to defeat Lara who is gonna have to fight in order to get the win against Alvarez..Posted June 30, 2014 9:58 am

Floyd simply schooled Canelo because he tried to outbox floyd counter him which is close to impossible to do. He didnt use his size and strength to bully Floyd into the ropes. Canelo was big and slow and Floyd is too fast he can beat Canelo and Cotto at any weight. Weight wasnt a factor for Alverez Floyd is simply too skilled.Posted June 28, 2014 8:04 pm

“@Tark-Big bad Chisora lost to Tyson Fury, so are you saying Tyson Fury could’ve beat Ali?? Now that’s comical…HaHaHaHa!”
How hard did you laugh when somebody told you Ken Norton would beat Ali??? Or that Leon Stinks was going to beat Ali???
Probably as hard as you laughed when somebody told you Buster Douglas was going to dominate and KO Mike Tyson
Upsets happen because the public is misinformed… so are most of the bettors among that pubic… That’s what makes for those wildly lopsided odds in the 1st place.
Very few bettors figure it out with rigorous and expert analysis.
Taking into consideration how Ali performed against 219lb, weak, soft, and pasty as Hell Chuck Wepner — I see Tyson Fury, who never saw a rule he didn’t want to break, being a nightmare for Ali… Like 210lb Sam Cunningham, Ali didn’t have the punching power to gain any respect from a giant like Fury. Fury would have nothing but utter contempt for Ali, who was easy to hit, and would be licking his chops.
I’m not claiming Fury would beat Ali.. That matchup is something I won’t waste time thinking about.. But on the surface it’s the type of fight that leads to a massive upset.Posted June 28, 2014 6:12 pm
Yeah.., That was sort of my point Hidalgo.. Haye crushed Chisora… Nobody else came within a mile of stopping Dereck.
Ali couldn’t hurt Norton or drop him… But bigger punchers blew Norton away.Posted June 28, 2014 5:54 pm

RE-hydration varies from one fight/fighter to another, as all trainers know. It all depends on how the body is reacting and the process being used. It’s NOT always the same. I’ve had fighters struggle for one fight and not so the next. But it does come to a point to where it’s no longer healthy for a fighter to remain at a particular weight. I remember how Cotto depleted himself making weight for the Ricardo Torres fight and told his uncle and Arum that would be his last fight at jr welter because he could no longer make the weight and be at his best. They continued to match Cotto at 140Lbs against his wishes. He made the weight vs Gianluca Branco and although he scored a stoppage he told personally me that he felt flat, weak and wasn’t pleased with his performance. Cotto struggled and went to extremes for the Malignaggi fight, actually miscalculating in the times in the sauna the night before the official weigh-in and came in at 138.5 Lbs. He said that if it wasn’t for the weight issue he would’ve stopped Paulie without a doubt but he just plain felt weak down the stretch. He once again told Arum and his uncle his intentions to give up the title. Arum tried to convince Miguel to remain at 140 for one more fight but Miguel got really annoyed and refused to talk to both Bob and his uncle on the idea.Posted June 28, 2014 12:01 pm
JOE 712 @ FRONTERA…
SO YOU SAID THAT CANELO LOOKED PHENOMENAL AT 155 LBS AGAINST ANGULO? THAT NITE PERRO HAD NOTTING HE LOOKED LIKE A PUNCHING BAG. AND ANYONE LOOKS GOOD AGAINST A PUNCHING BAG. NOW CANELO & LARA FOUGHT TOO DIFFERENT ANGULO’S. CANELO FOUGHT WHAT LOOKED LIKE A OVER TRAINED ANGULO. LARA FOUGHT THE TUFF RUGGED NON STOP PUNCHING PERRO. SO STOP IT WITH THE PHENOMENAL BS…….LARA GOT THIS. CANELO IS GOING BACK TO SCHOOL.Posted June 28, 2014 11:01 am
Lara will easily outbox Alvarez, however I would not be surprised if the decision went against him. Don’t disbelieve what your eyes saw regardless of the judges.Posted June 28, 2014 10:50 am
Canelo didn’t rehydrate to a higher weight cause he thought he could out box Floyd and be just as fast. After the fight he realized that was a mistake. Canelo has made no excuses and says the weight was not an issue. Stop making excuses for the fighter. You can’t pick and choose when to use a fighters quotes to make your ridiculous points.Posted June 28, 2014 10:18 am
I don’t think Lara has the best set of whiskers , and Canelo will exploit that.Posted June 28, 2014 9:08 am
That’s a lie… Canelo was 153.5 for Trout … not 153
And he was in a sauna to make the weight… He was able to rehydrate to 172
For Floyd he killed himself to make 152. He was only able to rehydrate to 165… meaning he hurt himself
For his next fight, Angulo he couldn’t get under 155 and paid a stiff fine
For Lara he asked for a catch weight above 154Posted June 28, 2014 8:21 am
two hype jobs move on.Posted June 28, 2014 7:32 am
Canelo was 152 against Floyd instead of 153 (what he weighed his previous weigh in before Floyd). He had stamina issues before the bout and the extra pound was thought to be beneficial in making Canelo quicker and in improving his stamina because he would have done more cardio. Ask Oscar De La Hoya… ask Canelo. They thought it was gonna be better for Canelo to be a smidgen less heavy. He wasn’t weight drained, he just got a humiliating boxing lesson. No shame there, he was fighting a boxing legend and tried to outbox him. He could be Lara though, who knows.Posted June 28, 2014 5:15 am
.. “Lara is no Mayweather”
He’s taller… just about as slick… hits harder… and is a southpaw.
Canelo will be better because he was weight drained for Floyd… Ask Andre Ward.Posted June 28, 2014 5:10 am
Happyboy…, Anybody who thinks Ali could defend himself as well, or punch as hard as David Haye, is an idiot who just is not worth listening to.
Ali got caught with blooping punches Haye would deftly duck or slip with little effort.
For another thing Haye has a body attack — and can fight inside, outside, upside, and downside.
Do you think Ali could dispatch somebody like 247lb Dereck Chisora, who nobody else has been able to KO??? Ali was never in that kind of physical condition in his life.
Ali couldn’t even hurt Rudi Lubbers or Alfredo Evangelista.Posted June 28, 2014 5:05 am

I’ll take Lara in this one by decision. Well if the judges are fair. Didn’t like how Canelo looked against Trout. I thought didn’t pull the trigger at times especially when Canelo gassed out. If Laura boxes like Mayweather and pull the trigger when the opportunity presents itself. He can cruise to a win I believe.Posted June 28, 2014 2:41 am
Close fight, I believe Lara edges Canelo in the ring but loses on the scorecard. Canelo by controversial decision. Had his fight with Floyd been close like the Maidana fight, Canelo would be undefeated.Posted June 28, 2014 2:20 am

Lara will slice and dice Canelo up and turrn him into a Cinnamon Chicken Enchilada. He will beat him 8 rounds to 4. That wont be enough because watch, these judges will make it a split decision win for Canelo.Posted June 28, 2014 1:46 am

sorry tark but you lost all your street cred when you rated David haye ahead of Muhammed Ali in “BOXING”Posted June 27, 2014 11:06 pm
Canelo will fight Lara less than one week before his 24th birthday… He’s moving into his mid 20’s now and he’s no kid anymore… He’s getting to be a physically mature fighter.. if his technical skills are still lacking.
He was only 22 when he signed to fight Floyd. Just a kid.
Plus… he can’t make 154 anymore and paid a hefty fine for being overweight for his Angulo fight… He learned his lesson about coming in parched and dead as scorched dirt.
That’s okay.. Lara stopped Angulo faster than Canelo did anyway.. but I don’t think you tell your opponent any of your strategy before the fight, they would know what to expect, which wouldn’t be good.
You try to mislead them if anything…
If you’re planning on boxing the whole way, say you’ll score a KO in 5 rounds or quit… If you’re planning on a fast KO, say you’re going to take them into deep water, are planning on really boxing their ass off, and breaking them down in the championship rounds.Posted June 27, 2014 9:39 pm
I have to give Canelo props because he’s showing he wants the big challenges. He was willing to fight Williams, Mandingo, Floyd, Trout (when he could have easily fought Cotto coming off the loss for more money), and now Lara. But. I think this guy is all wrong for him. Lara can be pressured, as he was by Molina and Angulo, but Canelo couldn’t really do it against Floyd and Trout, so it would seem unlikely he can turn that switch on against Lara, who’s a bigger puncher than either of them. Lara will be very careful in this fight, he’ll try to frustrate Canelo early and, if he succeeds, will start tagging him late.Posted June 27, 2014 8:40 pm
Good luck with that DelboyPosted June 27, 2014 8:31 pm
Canelo behind after the first 6 rounds but pulls off a late stoppage and you can take that to the bankPosted June 27, 2014 8:28 pm
Carefully and strategically matched to make you believe….
Not this guy. I don’t buy into that crap. They wanted people to think, “well, if Angulo can drop Lara and Canelo beat Angulo, then Canelo MUST be better”….BS. We all know that in boxing there is NO formula, it’s fight the fight and we’ll see.Posted June 27, 2014 7:28 pm
Canelo fought a guy coming off of a TKO loss, regardless of how he (Angulo) was doing, in the end, Lara’s power was essentially too much for him.
That’s just like when Pacquiao fought Mosley after Mosley’s disappointing performance against Mora, the fight was made to make Pacquiao look good vs an aging (old) fighter. Canelo was matched with Angulo for the same reason, to make him look good, whether you’re a fan of Canelo or not, that’s a fact. I didn’t buy (believe) the Pacquiao vs Mosley just like I didn’t / don’t buy (believe) the Canelo vs Angulo.Posted June 27, 2014 7:27 pm
. . . and THAT’s what actually happened independent of what anybody insists they saw while helpless to explain why, e.g, Papo.Posted June 27, 2014 7:22 pm
Frontera – 1lb?? You’re acting as though Canelo looks terrible if he’s ‘forced’ to make the actual Jr. Middlweight limit, which is only ONE pound less than 155. If ONE pound can break him, then damn, he sucks.Posted June 27, 2014 7:21 pm
bottomline, a truly elite fighter dominates the current version of Angulo. Lara couldN’T. Canelo DiD. NEXT?Posted June 27, 2014 7:21 pm
Pretty much how I see it.Posted June 27, 2014 7:18 pm
Te Tumbo, referring to Angulo-Lara’s fight; “should not have been that difficult IF Lara was on the same level as Canelo”.
And what level is that? Who has Canelo fought to make him better than Lara? Take a look at his last six fights: Angulo, whom even you agreed had nothing left; Floyd, who gave Canelo a boxing lesson; Trout, which could have been a draw; a lightweight in Josesito Lopez; an old Shane Mosely; a has been Kermit Cintron; and a punching bag Alfonso Gomez.Posted June 27, 2014 7:16 pm
I will not buy this fight – I don’t find either fighter particularly exciting to watch, and even though it might be a decent fight, I don’t care who wins. Just not worth the PPV. If they had an intermediate PPV fee (maybe 30 bucks) I might buy it.Posted June 27, 2014 7:11 pm
People. Don’t forget that this match is taking place at 155. Canelo looked phenomenal at 155 versus Angulo…To the point that many people feel that Angulo threw the fight. No folks. Canelo is that good at 155. He’ll prove it on July 12th!Posted June 27, 2014 6:25 pm

Alvarez might have been a bit in awe of the moment with FMJ against Lara I see him trying to establish himself as the CLEAR 2nd best to Floyd at the weight… An impressive win restores the Canelo luster.. BIG TIME..Posted June 27, 2014 4:27 pm
Floyd simply out boxed the bigger slower Canelo with ease. I doubt if Lara will be able to do what Floyd did. Canelo fought a dub fight agaisnt MW he should have used his size and strengh to get Floyd on the ropes and bang his body. But he didnt and Floyd picked him apart…Posted June 27, 2014 4:25 pm

“You could tell Angulo didn’t go into the fight to win” that’s what i thought while watching Angulo’s performance v. Lara and he STILL dropped him twice and was poised to finish him before the ref stopped the bout. this isn’t the same Angulo who KO’d Rosado. he’s depleted at 154lbs and it showed for the first time v. Lara who still had to go life-and-death to finally prevail in that bout. should not have been that difficult IF Lara was on the same level as Canelo.Posted June 27, 2014 4:12 pm
You could tell Angulo didn’t go into the fight to win he wasn’t even throwing shots.. like Collazo vs Amir Khan, the fix was in and neither guy, Collazo or Angulo were there to win vs the House Primadonnas…Posted June 27, 2014 3:45 pm
