Gonzo – It’s all good I’m just having some fun at the expense of our Board Resident Puerto Rican Hater Tumbo.. I have plenty of Mexican Friends.. a few weeks back Tumbo was as Happy as a Chihuahua in Heat when a few young Ricans lost… It’s all good until Dumbo takes it to the ugly levels then I have to Spank the little fat fker… My Man Mex, a Mexican Boricqua is cool.. Dempsey…. It reminded me of that hook because Quarry loaded up with a big hook and was cranking full strength, smack into Foster’s murderous blow.. Short and SWEET.. That’s the best punch I’ve ever seen in my entire life so nothing compares to it really …. Morales missed his jab and started a quick left hook right behind it – but he didn’t load it a ton like Quarry, otherwise they would have carried him out on a stretcher 15 minutes later… You’ll have to admit, it was a spectacular kill shot from Garcia. Everyone pretty much knew the fight was over when it landed … Even though Erik wasn’t out cold he was as done as Roy Jones when Tarver hit him. In his next fight Roy went out cold for 15 because he was probably still feeling the effects of Tarver’s shot.Posted October 22, 2012 6:37 pm

Lol Morales has been shot to smithereens for decades. Just because he lost a controversial decision to an erratic Maidana doesn’t change that. Did you see the crappy performance Maidana put up against Delvin Alexander? lol. He was utterly abysmal. The fact that Morales took Garcia down to the wire in their first fight says more about how poor Garcia is than it does about Morales. Lucas Matthysse is going to tap his ass big time when Garcia finds his balls. Viva Argentina!Posted October 22, 2012 6:34 pm
Tark – He said this was his last fight in the USA and he will have a good bye fight in Tijuana.. He was retired by Danny Garcia…Posted October 22, 2012 5:29 pm
To TARK ,,,i give full credit to Danny Garcia for stopping Morales,,but to say it reminded you of Bob Fosters knock out of Mike Quarry is totally wrong !!! yes Danny use a good left hook like Foster did ,but Mike Quarry looked like he was dead ,,in fact Foster was worry ,,he had thought that he had kill him,, so did every one else in the arena,,Mike Quarry lay motionless for about 15 minutes,,,,that was scary ….Posted October 22, 2012 4:28 pm
Morales refused to say this was the end of the line… He wants a proper sendoff in Mexico. He probably dreams of whipping Juan Manual Marquez who would be 40 years old when they meet. Why not have 2 retirements for the price of one??? I’d love to see it but JMM stops him as well. El Terrible’s body hasn’t had the same upkeep as JMM’s. Marquez never stopped training hard and never stopped fighting elite fighters. Morales is not going to get into that kind of shape even with PED’s, but please do the fight anyway. It’s outrageous you two never fought, kind of like Holmes and Foreman never fighting.Posted October 22, 2012 3:16 pm

This was a definitive win over a faded great. Garcia is on an excellent run but this was his “gimme” fight. The young guy did what he was supposed to do. Close the show. You could see the reflexes struggling to respond for the soft looking Morales while Garcia’s reflexes were sharp. Morales needed a loss like this to finally do what is best & retire. A lot of interesting match ups in this division.Posted October 22, 2012 10:38 am

Herron says…. “Garcia caught Morales with the “Coup de Grace” during an exchange in the fourth and final stanza.” …. Actually it wasn’t an exchange. It was a brilliant counterpunch.. Garcia pawed slowly with 3 jabs to draw a jab from Morales.. Erik bit and threw the jab, which Danny swiftly slipped to his left, dipped his shoulder in textbook fashion and unloaded the killer hook almost in one motion. It was stunning. Morales was following up his missed jab with a left hook when he got caught — so the effect was almost like Mike Quarry getting creamed by Bob Foster … It was a thing of beauty.Posted October 21, 2012 10:37 pm
Morales stipulated the re-match clause. Garcia can’t please everybody and was going to get flack no matter what, however, it’s better he gets the flack for winning. The same people who said Morales was going to KO Garcia only have one choice. That’s to belittle Garcia’s win so that they can feel better about being Garcia haters.Posted October 21, 2012 10:14 pm
yeah i agree if he lands clean he will hurt you garcia got good timing on his shots he good at timing people if you make a mistake against him he make you pay cause of his counter punching and timing once he work on his defense and move his head more he be even more hard to beat he got to work on shorten his punches to somtimes his punches can be looping but he still youngPosted October 21, 2012 9:10 pm

Funny how GBP was willing to throw Matthysse into the mix against Brandon Rios but they keep Danny Garcia clear of him being in the same stable and all..goes to show the Argentinian fighter doesn’t make them any money so Oscar is willing to co-promote with Top Stank to try and derail Arums future cash cow..in Danny Garcia’s defense he’s still a work in process and the Rican fans are in desprate need of a fighter they can indentify with to root for..Garcia spoile GBP plans with A mere Con so now they figure might as well take young Swift under their wing with great back to back ko’s of Con and Morales..expect Zab Judah to be next to further build the growth of Danny Garcia..Posted October 21, 2012 7:39 pm

@big head. I completely agree with you. Garcia is there to be hit all day. If Amir Khan was a smarter fighter he could have boxed circles around Danny. I do believe he’s one of the hardest hitters out there still. It’s not because he ko’d Khan(no-chin) or Morales(shot). You can just see his power when he throws and lands. They’re monstrous shots and I think if he lands cleanly he’ll ko anyone.Posted October 21, 2012 7:16 pm

Te tumba, For once I agree with you. Does beating an aged great fighter make Garcia an elite fighter. What is there to be proud of here. Golden boy from the last fight saw that Morales was done. Why do it again. This fight should have never been made.Posted October 21, 2012 5:59 pm
first of all, Garcia is “NOT Mexican” and barely Puerto Rican’t so why give him any credit? second, Team Garcia ought to be ashamed of themselves for matching-up v. an old featherweight at least seven (7) Years beyond his prime. are they proud of themselves? what did they prove? if a prime Josesito stumbling into Alvarez’s turf with a win was bad, this was a travesty. Btw, if Cano had been Puerto Rican, they would’ve given him the nod at Barclay’s Center last night in Brooklyn, NY . . . :twisted:Posted October 21, 2012 5:50 pm
i dnt know about hardest puncher in boxing today but garcia is a good puncher tho especially with that left hook but garcia really havent been in there with a big puncher khan and morales aint big punchers now he was in there with kendall holt i give him that he do got a solid chin but he do needs to move his head more and work on his defense a lil bit but he young he only going to get better he had a good yearPosted October 21, 2012 4:13 pm
Too bad Morales didn’t win; the ESB comment board would have lit up like a X-mas tree ridiculing Garcia’s boxing skills. Garcia won and did an exellent job while he was at it; however, he will always get very little credit because he is NOT Mexican. Same thing happened to Martinez’s excellent work when he won. Still cool anyway because ESB articles help to sell fights so whatever it takes to get the fans putting out their dollars is okay with me any day of the week.Posted October 21, 2012 3:58 pm
Here’s why I believe Danny Garcia can beat anyone at or around his weight class. He might just be the hardest puncher in boxing today and he has a granite chin and decent speed. He’s old school Philly. He’s built to take a licking and keep on ticking. I don’t see anyone knocking him out. Anyone that gets close enough to hit him risks getting ko’d. Badly.Posted October 21, 2012 3:40 pm
Good fight for Danny Garcia last night ,,but then Erik Morales had no business fighting any more ,,So this fight was not a good test for Danny ,,Now a Garcia vs Mathysse fight would definitely test both of them …Now remember every body this kid Mathysse can really punch ,,but he does not depend on one single punch to win he throws power punches thru out the whole fight ,,but Danny is also a young ,,strong kid….Posted October 21, 2012 3:39 pm

Easy money for Garcia last night, the kid did what he was suppose to do against a stubborn old vet who needed to be reminded that his time is over the hard way..Swift is obviously still a work in process but he packs a mean punch and seems willing to mix it up wich will make it fun to watch how far he can go against the top guys at 140lbs..Matthysse, Rios, Bradley, Khan, Peterson, Alvarado, Garcia are all good fight versus each other at jr welter.Posted October 21, 2012 2:58 pm
It’s hard not to like Danny Garcia. Even after starching both Morales and Khan, critics still don’t want to give this kid credit even though he just wins all the time.
Danny is a mentally and physically tough fighter. He and his dad are great for the sport of boxing and I would like to see them continue in their winning ways.
Danny always comes to fight and will never back down from a challenge.
But, you have to stick him in the ring with an offensive minded fighter like Matthysse or Rios because Danny is a counterpuncher by trade.
Please do not pair him up with Zab Judah…that has snoozer written all over it.Posted October 21, 2012 2:45 pm
I saw them exactly the same way, DT.
The first meeting between the two Mexican legends was absolutely brutal. It was awesome.
The second was a little more of a let down because everyone built it up to be a violent masterpiece. It was more of a tactical fight with Morales getting the better of the exchanges due to his long, rangy jab. I thought it was somewhat of a make up call because most felt Barrera won the first bout.
The third was breathtaking with Barrera winning by a slim margin.
All time great fight trilogy!!Posted October 21, 2012 2:40 pm
Danny Garcia will continue to grow as a fighter and he’ll be around a while.
Nice to see an article and Garcia and his team getting some headlines.Posted October 21, 2012 2:34 pm

***sucker punched***Posted October 21, 2012 2:19 pm
Winetaster, a lot of the bad blood between Erik and MAB had a lot to do with Barrera. If you remember during the prefight presser leading into that fight, Barrera sicker punched Morales right on the kisser.
That’s why he was a little less than gracious after Morales won the third meeting.
When Morales was told that Barrera was rooting for him over Pacquiao during the build up to Morales/Pac I, Morales said that he didn’t believe him.
Erik stated that he found it difficult to believe that MAB would ever root for him over anyone.Posted October 21, 2012 2:19 pm
Erik Morales was a great fighter but always had a bad attitude. I remembered when marco Antonio Barrrera wnet over to shake his hand after their fight and the angry Morales threw water at Barrera who sort of laughed it off. I thought at the time it was just because of their bitter rivalry but Morales is a head case in spite of his boxing glory. I don’t know if Morales ever congratulated Manny Pacquiao’s stoppage of him when he sat there and took the ten count like a whisp.Posted October 21, 2012 2:03 pm
Garcia can’t be faulted, he blew out a young Amir Khan and now an OLD Erik Morales… To his credit he did it in style and in short order… Hopefully the kid can make some money because he is entertaining to say the least..Posted October 21, 2012 2:01 pm

It`s awful quiet up in here.Where`s all the Mexicans at who was talking smack before the fight ? I know where they are , somewhere loading up their gloves and passing the blunt to Chavez Jr. Yet, another Puerto Rican boxer commits a homicide on a Mexican cheater. That`s because the best boxers in Mexico today are not the men but the women: Jackie Nava,Mariana Juarez and Ana Marie Torres.Posted October 21, 2012 11:28 am

Erik Morales the typical South of the Border Sore loser never once mentioned Danny in his Retirement speech.. never gave the kid any credit and didn’t wish him success in his career.. even after Danny walked over to him like he did in the first fight where Morales snubbed him, and told Morales he was a great fighter and congratulated him on the great fight… These fkers just have no class and will never lose like men of honor…Posted October 21, 2012 10:02 am
He’s 35 years old and hardly an old man like 42 year old tiny Mosely that gave Canelo a Boxing lesson… but as we all knew the Mexicans would be out in full force now making excuses and being the Sore losers the Boxing world knows they are… typical.. and the reason the world loves kickin Mexican Culitos…Posted October 21, 2012 9:52 am
OK, I am convinced (after all these years) that there are boxers who will not quit until they are hurt or beaten so badly that they have to retire. It is my hope that after this one sided beatdown, Morales will finally retire and this time, stay retired. He was so, so great in his time, but now it is time to hang up the gloves. Please, while you still have your faculties, please retire (and take Roy Jones and Evander Holyfield with you). ThanksPosted October 21, 2012 9:51 am

Predictable outcome. This was a mismatch the moment it was announced. Morales hadn’t done anything to deserve a rematch. Golden Boy Promotions and The Garcia’s just wanted a money match vs. a very beatable opponent. And that’s exactly what they got. Hopefully his next match will be against Khan or Mattheyse.Posted October 21, 2012 9:34 am

So it’s ok for Canelo to fight washed up hasbeens and smaller fossils like 42 year old man Mosely and that’s all that’s needed to elevate Canelo to SuperStar Status by Mexicans but you morons won’t give him credit for his wins over 35 year old Morales or Prime Top Champion Amir Khan??? what sore losing hypocrates… :lol:Posted October 21, 2012 8:14 am
Garcia/Morales fight is not hard to predict who will win. Garcia need to fight his own match not an old one like Morales.Posted October 21, 2012 7:58 am
Good fight Danny Garcia is a killer with good counter punch and that killer left hook. Danny will destroy Mahtysse but to fight in December is not enough time for Danny to prepare. Maybe December of 2013 but not this year. By the way another Mexican getting beat my a puerto rican. Bring Rios or Mathysse it don’t matter Danny will destroy them both. Mexican boxer you can’t trust them they the cheaters in boxing just like the Dominicans in baseball.Posted October 21, 2012 7:36 am
Like I mentioned here a few weeks ago, Morales needs to retire. I also mentioned he didn’t have a chance of beating Garcia and that he would get hurt…that was obvious.
By the way, I’m sure Te Tumbo is mourning the lost and perhaps discourage because, as he put it, he loves to see the faces of Puerto Ricans fans after a Mexican beats a PR fighter…well, what goes around comes around.Posted October 21, 2012 7:14 am
