This would have been the most interesting fight that you could have hoped for 5 yrs. ago, MP was one of the few fighters that was on par with FM in the stamina department. I would have gladly paid 150 dollar PPV fee to see how the fight played out. I know a lot of people would still like to see this fight get made, and for you I hope it does. So far the best thing that has come from talking about this fight IMO is the enjoyment that the fans get from debating the outcome.Posted May 26, 2014 6:46 pm
. . . but IF Pacquiao* does face Mayweather in 2014, (or even Marquez) on Floyd’s terms, i will be convinced that Manny* doesn’t fear losing to Mayweather. after all, a confident Pacquiao* agrees to Floyd’s terms while looking forward to recovering any losses in the mandatory rematch. Btw, those “losses” are only dwindling while he thinks long and wrong about it. what about This scenario does a confident Pacquiao* or Pacquiao* fan object too? it’s the “lose”=win-big equation that arch-rival Marquez agreed too several times to confirm their matchups. Pacquiao* needs to Step-Up and simply sign on the dotted-line. don’t bother reading it. the one item he can be certain is included is a mandatory rematch in the event of a Mayweather loss. isn’t that all he needs to know?Posted May 26, 2014 5:59 pm
“. . . you obviously have no idea about psychology .. And the difference it can make, or do you think fighter play mind games because they are bored before fights” OMF’nG(?!). it is the very depth of fanboy delusional stupidity to dare cite “mind games” as a legitmate reason for your favorite fighter to avoid a challenge from his primary P4P rival. did an “older”, “slower”, and “smaller” Marquez ever balk listening to Team Pacquiao’s* guarantees of KO victory? NO. did he panic and bolt when Team Pacquiao* dared mutter about his muscular physique? Hell-NO. he went on public record by responding with “any test, any time. I’ve got nothing to hide”. something that Pacquiao* has NEVER had the guts or integrity to say. moreover, haggling over cut-off dates in an anti-doping process that is already established is absurd and suspect. THERE IS NOTHING TO NEGOTIATE. it is, what it is. designed to catch drug-cheaters. why compromise the process with petty demands that can only compromise the results? it’s like challenging a champion for his welter-title but only if that champion agrees to weigh-in less than the welter limit . . . wait-a-minute(?!). Punkuiao* is guilty of that shady tactic as well(?!). Pacquiao* is a blight on the sport’s integrity and the most corrupting influence in Boxing over the past 10 years. there is some degree of justice and comfort knowing that he will always be the primary feature of arch-rival Marquez’s career highlight-reel.Posted May 26, 2014 2:18 pm
Te tumbo, Jason has a point. I’m way past this fight happening and i’m not on either side. But I am on the side of the facts. Pac agreed to drug testing, 60/40 split for Money and even more, hell he agreed to just about all of Money’s demands. But Money would not get in the ring. Now I don’t think that Money is scared of getting his but kicked but I do think he was and still is concerned about marketing his name. The possibility of losing complicates his marketing ability. In the end, Money is a fighter and fighters fighter. Look Ali, Tyson and a number of HOFers has come forward and suggested that Money get in the ring and do his job. The tumblo .. I am not a fan of either fighter , I’m talking objectively .. You are not … Enough said , you can’t see past your dislike for PAC .. When it’s clear all the blocks have Come from one side , and you obviously have no idea about psychology .. And the difference it can make , or do you think fighter play mind games because they are bored before fights ? Lol!! … At the end PAC wanted a fair slice of the pie too , they were both superstars , is that wrong in your eyes ?? The blood testing thing he agreed to a 5 day window did he not , alongside blood testing after , that is more than good enough , why do think mayweather had to settle , as there were no grounds for doubt … Lastly ,, DO YOU BELIEVE MAYWEATHER , THE TYPE OF MAN HE IS, REQUESTED THE BLOOD TESTING OUT OF CONCERN FOR THE SPORT …. Nooo he did because he wasn’t sure , like he wasn’t sure about medinas gloves … You are stupid, naive and blinded by hate to a guy who simply tries to entertain the fans of boxing … I hope fans like you and hhlondon leave the sport when mayweather goesPosted May 26, 2014 6:40 am

SREDMOND Arum hold a lot of clout at HBO they only deal with him show time is shut out. If arum say he can fight GBP fighters logic say its too dangerous to say you can if you have not check if you can. Or you end up looking like a fool. I belive arum and oscar more that Richard who was lieing all this time and Floyd another guys who tell lies all the time. Watch want to bet something comes up?

SREDMOND, did you hear what I said its official arum he said he wanting for the list of fighter Oscar can provide to fight penny in sept. remember it’s was Oscar idea to open up fighter, and he the boss.
He already put Richard in his place on twitter after they both stop talking for a few week that mean they were in a argument over this decussion, and Oscar said in short work that he still the boss and he going to take more responsibility on his company, and it’s was he and I that stop talk with arum.
So Richard when ask about it, said well I guess I was the guilty guy.
So in others words Oscar need to put out the list or he all mouth. Logic say he put out a list. bet ya.

Pac Man is NOT facing Porter or Thurman unless this Cold War between GBP and Top Rank ends, then there are the Network issues have to be ironed out (HBO and Showtime) Manny is gonna face Provo or Marquez next, after that its gonna get laughable…. Arum had been discussing Garcia (Mikey) coming up inPosted May 25, 2014 2:36 pm
Top Rank’s CEO, Bob Arum, says there are several options for Manny Pacquiao’s first defense of the reclaimed WBO welterweight title on November 8th in Macau. The number one option is a fifth fight with former four division champion Juan Manuel Marquez.
A good backup option is WBO junior welterweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov, who uses Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach. Since Arum is now on good terms with Golden Boy Promotions President, Oscar De La Hoya, a longshot possibility is British star Amir Khan, who used to be Pacquiao’s stablemate under Roach.
“Juan Manuel has not committed yet to the fight. I’ll have the opportunity to speak with him maybe as soon as next week because I invited Juan Manuel and his wife to come to Macau so we have plenty of time to discuss it,” Arum told ABS CBN News. “Ruslan is fighting on June 14 on HBO. It will be shown in the Philippines and so he is also a potential opponent.”
“We will see which of these welterweights have been fighting for Golden Boy or on the contract to Golden Boy that Oscar can produce. Once we learn that, we can review those fighters. It could be Amir Khan. Canelo [Alvarez] is fighting too late. He’s fighting in July. So for November, Canelo wouldn’t be right. But maybe sometime next year.”

“pac* had a problem with it before the morales fight…” yeh(?). Pacquiao* was so “weak” that he only(?) had enough left to engage in a 12th-round slugfest following 11 rounds of non-stop punching action? also, Morales underwent the same testing. why isn’t Morales crying and complaining about “weakness”? oh, that’s right. he beat the piss and crap out of Pacquiao* after Manny* avoided the red-hot and eagerly-anticipated rematch v. Marquez who ultimately FLATTENED Napman* like roadkill. either Manny* is afraid to lose or afraid to test dirty. those are the only two reasons he could possibly reject a $25-$50 million payday v. his primary P4P rival. Manny’s* not stupid but his fanboys certainly are.Posted May 25, 2014 1:15 pm
“the blood testing BS, if mayweather was so confident why even ask” has NOTHING to do with it. your primary focus should be on why a MUTUALLY-Applied anti-doping condition would be a deal-breaker for Pacquiao* and HOW could Mayweather possibly know that it would be? until you are able to answer this question you remain “Jason: King of the Stupids”.Posted May 25, 2014 1:08 pm

Btw, it’s fundamentally good business to request MUTUALLY-Applied conditions that only bolster the safety, health, and integrity of the sport. otherwise, what stupid “business principles” are You referring too? anti-doping testing is routine. stricter is better. Wtf is Pacquiao* (and his fanboys) so afraid of?Posted May 25, 2014 10:04 am
This fight not having occurred is a black eye to a sport whose fan base has been shrinking
I’m reading this comments about PAC mayweather … There are some really stupid people on this site lol… I’m a fan of neither really . But there is only one person who has asked for never been done before extra testing, there is only one who has resorted to slander and there is only one who made an offer which knew would be refused on purely business principles … They are the only facts … All the rest is just conjecture…. It’s so obvious , this mayweather guy keeps changing his excuse… First of all blood testing ( and PAC is on record blaming defeat on feeling week after testing before the morales fight, a test he passed ) … Then he make the offer . Which at the time simply wasn’t fair… But now he will never work with arum and that’s the reason , even though he had made previously that offer…. And after watching his actions at the madina fight, there can be no doubt who is the one blocking this, he was acting like a flat out diva.. Mayweather is bad for boxing, he is turning it into a circus .. I for one can’t wait for the guy to retire … The guy has amazing talent, but never really fights, as soon as there is an exchange on the ropes he goes into his defensive shell and uses his elbows a lot. Much better fighters to watch than this guy .. He can stick his 0 where the sun don’t shine.Posted May 25, 2014 6:53 am
I couldn’t give a flying you know what about this fight anymore. And I think Bob Arum might be the only one left who still believes it’ll actually happen. Manny made his name at 140/147 facing a number of guys FMJ beat first, Hatton, ODH, Mosley reality isn’t hey have several common opponents and (Cotto, Marquez) and Mayweather has not lost to ANY of them, Floyd has shown he can rumble against guys who can punch at higher weights (Canelo and even a bulked up Maidana at 147) PAC Man fought talented but light hitter Bradley who he already beat according to most and Rios coming off a loss.. Floyd is NOT scared of Manny because PAC is no one to fear, the guys not even a big puncher at 147 and frankly he is smallPosted May 25, 2014 6:36 am

The intrigue of a May vs PAC bout has been really diminished, both guys are in the stretch run and Manny got knocked out a couple fights ago..While Manny was on the rehab trail, Canelo was seen as a bigger threat as evidenced by the record setting PPV that he and Floyd collaborated on..It’s no longer 2010 or 2011 the moment has passed even though this contest will be VERY lucrative it’s past it’s sell date and people need to move on..Posted May 24, 2014 10:16 pm

Mayweather always refused to fight Pacquiao.
Porter and Thurman aren’t too green to fight anyone you raging idiot.. Porter is an undefeated Welterweight champion and Floyd fought inept boxers like Ortiz, Hatton, Guerrero, and Maidana.
About time Floyd fought somebody who can box for once in his life.Posted May 24, 2014 4:58 pm
I highly doubt this fight will ever happen. It’s 6-8 years too late. The names stand out because of their accomplishments, but this Mega Fight of all Mega Fights missed it’s destiny. Manny Pacquiao the Saint vs Floyd Mayweather the Devil. Good vs Bad. A humble, loving, caring, respectful Manny Pacquiao vs a bragging, disrespectful, money and material hungry Floyd Mayweather. The table was set. The world was talking about this fight when both were in their primes. Manny Pacquiao was on a reign of terror destroying and beating everyone in sight. Floyd Mayweather was winning albeit a few controversial decisions (Castillo, De LA Hoya), but he remained undefeated. The proposed fight then took a turn for the worst as Floyd Mayweather began his list of demands. The excuses started flying all over the place. Floyd gets sued for attacking Manny Pacquiao’s character and then gets sued. Floyd Mayweather wanted things his way. He wanted the bigger piece of the pie as his gigantic ludicrous ego wanted to offer Manny Pacquiao a minuscule $40 million without receiving any share of any other revenue. Ridiculous! Manny Pacquiao was on top of the world, and Floyd Mayweather knew it. He wanted to have an advantage over Manny Pacquiao in every way possible. Every tv and radio station wanted a piece of Manny Pacquiao. His endorsements were impossible to count. Manny Pacquiao was on fire. The world was talking about the fight. Everyone wanted to see it. Unfortunately, the fight never happened and never will. Who’s to blame? Floyd Mayweather is the man to blame. The truth is that Floyd knew full well that Manny Pacquiao could and would beat him. He didn’t want to risk a loss. Floyd Mayweather’s life is wrapped around his tarnished unbeaten record, and he would not give in. Many apeople say it’s Bob Arum’s fault, but that’s not true. If both fighters really wanted the fight, there was plenty of money to go around. More than plenty. Floyd didn’t want to take the risk and has used excuse after excuse always finding a way out, and Arum was the scapegoat and still is. Trust me when I say this. There is no fighter present or passed that would have passed up this opportunity. No one. Both floyd and Manny have enough money to last them for 10 life times, so money is not the real issue. The real issue is Floyd Mayweather’s fear of losing to Manny Pacquiao. Manny’s supreme fighting style cannot be beaten by any fighter on a one fight basis. No one beats Manny Pacquiao on a one fight basis, no one. I stake my house and retirement on that. The fight will be remembered sadly as the greatest fight that never happened. The fighter that will have to live with that failure is Floyd Mayweather. His record means nothing. His inability and fear of fighting the greatest pure boxer of all time has given Floyd Mayweather a loss in the publics eye, and that’s what really counts. Manny Pacquiao on the other hand will be fondly remembered as the fighter that avoided no one, fought the best, and fought for the fans. Manny Pacquiao is the PEOPLES CHAMPION. No one can ever take that away from him. He fought athletes, boxers, brawlers, Cheaters in 8 different weight divisions and beat them all. And yes Antonio Margarito counts. It’s in the history books. Manny Pacquiao wanted to fight Floyd Mayweather. His last offer to Floyd on ESPN”S First take was i will fight you with all your terms. You can’t be any more clear than that. Floyd’s response was as usual, more excuses that make no sense. Floyd’s excuses have worn thin on the public. As you saw his last PPV numbers, everyone has grown weary of him. He’s on the way out. The Mega Fight that never happened. Manny goes out smelling like roses, and Floyd Mayweather goes out with nothing but excuses. Trust me, Manny Pacquiao proved he’s the best ever. Manny is the best.Posted May 24, 2014 4:22 pm

I’d love to see Pac fight those guys… He won’t…
Floyd won’t either… You think he’s stupid???
Floyd is not going to fight anyone who he thinks as a fair chance to kick his ass… Pacquiao is willing to fight them… At the same time I believe Pac doesn’t get that much involved with who he fights because he’s doing 50,000 different thing a day … and protective people are mulling over those decisions so he doesn’t have to do the research on his opponents.
That probably means no Porter… no Brook… no Thurman… And by all means lets box, box, box, box, box of we fight Provodnikov.Posted May 24, 2014 2:26 pm
“If Pacquiao fights the best guys out there: Porter… Brook… Thurman… or even Provodnikov . . . If Pac fights guys like those 4 guys”. why equivocate with a timid “If”? why not deMand that Pacquiao* fight those four guys and prove his welter greatness? make himself unavoidable for Floyd? otherwise, Manny’s* matchmaking profile is full of gaping holes. after all, welter IS the deepest division in boxing, right now. even without counting the likes of Floyd, Bradley, or Marquez, there are At-Least four more guys for Pacquiao* to face. not counting Garcia, Maidana, Mathysse, Herrera, etc., because there are still more(?!). only then will Pacquiao* return to the days of imposing unfavorable conditions with impunity for the maxium return.Posted May 24, 2014 2:14 pm

Arum is living in Zu Zu Land… Pacquiao has a good chance to be beaten in up coming fights.
I say that because Floyd is not going to fight the best guys out there… So who’s going to fight them??? They want big fights!!!
If Pacquiao fights the best guys out there: Porter… Brook… Thurman… or even Provodnikov, a guy who can’t box, and I think Pac can beat him easily—but the man hits like a MFer.. It takes one shot.. If Pac fights guys like those 4 guys, then Pack is going to get beaten in the next 2 years … NO Floyd fight EVER!!!Posted May 24, 2014 2:06 pm
Arum always brings up Mayweathers name to promote Pac, he knows he has no say so on Mayweathers decision making ,no leverage either. Arum knows by resigning Plank the fight will not happen, so he has to say something to keep all Pac nuthuggers believeing. With Arum saying that then all Pac nuthuggers now saying Mayweather is the one ducking Plank. Thanks SQUARED CIRCLE and still not takers(?). it’s difficult if not impossible. I know because I tried and could not find seven rounds to score for Floyd. it was perhaps the only instance where an opponent was able to seriously disrupt if not dictate the pace of the bout to Mayweather. in fact, i was literally amazed at how the first 5-6 rounds of that fight unfolded. Maidana was simply marching through Mayweather who –in true ATG fashion– never ran out of another position to fall back on to continue the battle. Mayweather never wilted; never panicked; never stopped thinking, recalculating, and competing for the lead. there isn’t a more fiercely-competitive fighter in the sport than Floyd Mayweather . . . but Maidana won on the scorecards.Posted May 24, 2014 10:10 am

So, out of one side of Bob Arum’s mouth he lies about trying to make a fight with Mayweather and out the other side of his mouth he will pay Provodnikov a bonus fee to get in the ring with Pac and make him look good, without really trying to hurt him as per the small print of all Top Rank fighter contracts clearly states:

What leverage does Manny have in negotiations with Floyd? If Floyd has all the cards and can demand what he wants based upon what he has done in the ring as late. this fight will never happen and the reason is Arum poor pactards a man doesnt offer a fighter 40 million dollars if he is scared Manny was sent the contract and because of Arum he walked away. Like 40 million is not enough when Manny has never made 40 million for one fight in his life. Arum instead of looking out for the fighter wants a lions share he is pimping Manny. Once again Arum is trying to use the Media to pressure Floyd but Floyd made 70 million fighting Macro he dont need Manny nor Arum how can he bargain with a man that already has everything. Blaze – philosophically you are spot on. Losses can make you better if you want them to. Losses make the man. No losses only means one thing to me – you were never fully tested.Posted May 23, 2014 10:17 pm
My belief in this fight of the ages happening died many years ago. And each and every subsequent speculation that it could happen has been met with at best tempered optimism to now, cynical laughter and anger that we have been denied and they now just take the piss out if boxing fans. My boxing dream matches no longer involve May or PAC. There are plenty of other excellent mouth watering match ups to contemplate that might actually happen. And are happening, can’t wait for Froch groves 2.Posted May 23, 2014 10:11 pm

Floyd WON at least 8 rounds. In FACT it never even should have gone that far. Maidana should have been DQ’d for shots upon shots to the back of the head. The Punch Zone manikins needed to DO a 180 to show all those rabbit shots. Learn how to hit to the front of the FACE rabbit MAN.Posted May 23, 2014 9:32 pm
could somebody please share the seven rounds they scored for Floyd in his bout v. Maidana? otherwise, even Chavez Jr. redeems his controversial “wins”. Hell(?!), even Pacquiao* was shamed into confirming the one and only rematch of his rivalry v. Marquez. if he hadn’t we would’ve never witnessed the #1 KO in Boxing History.Posted May 23, 2014 8:26 pm
Who cares about Maidana “calling out Floyd” fact is he’s another guy who had a chance to beat the P4P King
Anyone still talking about May vs PAC in 2016 needs to slit their wrists.. Next Feb Floyd is 38 years old it’s over guys…Let it GO!! Move on with boxing and lifePosted May 23, 2014 8:06 pm
I love Maidana as he’s a modern day, old skool fighter but he got beat by Floyd and Arum should go protect Pacquiao and his pactard fans by fighting heavy bags for in-house popcorn purses.
Leave Floyd and his fans out of the Toprank nonsense.Posted May 23, 2014 6:02 pm
Floyd has a date will maidana, and he called out Floyd today saying Floyd afraid of the rematch and will not give it to me. So where Floyd comeback? Is it true what he says?Posted May 23, 2014 5:20 pm
Do not take any notice people, whether it’s from Top Rank, GoldenBoy or Mayweather promotions. ALL are to blame, no single individual. Us the masses, have been taken for a ride.. they don’t give two sh1ts about the boxing fans..Posted May 23, 2014 4:20 pm
Please don’t listen to Bob Arum people. He’s old senile, and delusional. Floyd won’t fight Manny if you put a gun to his head.Posted May 23, 2014 4:16 pm

Arum is full of it; first off; he knows damn well he doesn’t want a fight with Floyd; secondly he just said not too long ago they are entertaining the thought of moving Pacman back down to 140, then they are talking about a fifth fight with Marquez, then they are talking about the winner of Cotto-Martinez….This bastard has RAN OUT OF OPTIONS FOR HIS CASH COW……Posted May 23, 2014 4:11 pm
Arum once again is talking out his ass, he has no intention of facing Floyd with Manny like in 09 nothing has changed he is trying to work leverage not happening. Mannys only option for a big payday is Floyd and no one else…Posted May 23, 2014 4:02 pm
I say this today to you, and I really believe it, and it’s true… that since Ali, there hasn’t been a better fight, a better boxer, than this kid, Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather. This young man has the technique and the ability which puts him, in my book, ahead of such greats as Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler and all the other great fighters I’ve seen in my career, but there is nobody that combines all the skills of Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather.
Don’t believe me? Go to youtube and search for…
Rapid Fire – Losing doesn’t mean you aren’t the best. What NBA champs have ever been undefeated? None, so does that mean they weren’t the best? If last years superbowl team loses to the Cleveland Browns during the season, does that mean they aren’t the best? Of course not. Casual fans put too much emphasis on losses, which is why fighters duck other fighters today more than any other time in boxing history. Did you forget that JMM didn’t win their first 3 encounters? Pac lost his first fight to Morales, and then came back and KO’d him twice, Ali lost to Frazier and came back and beat him in two rematches, and the list goes on. So when you see fighters duck other fighters causing us not to see the best match-ups in the sport, take a look at the way you view losses. Because the fact is that fighters aren’t afraid of losing a fight, they are scared of losing their fan base.Posted May 23, 2014 3:41 pm
Blah blah blah Manny’s not the best.History will remember Floyds career as a True Master of the sweet science.Manny had a few good years and that’s how he’ll be remembered…..Mediocre at best.Posted May 23, 2014 3:40 pm
Hecdog-Manny is definetly not the best at this point. He’s already been KO 3 times lol. On top of that he has imo 4 maybe 5 losses..yea not quite very far from itPosted May 23, 2014 2:50 pm
“I’d like to see both of them KTFO in their next fights as punishment for denying boxing fans all these years”. Day-um(?!) FA. Manny* was literally transformed into roadkill by Marquez. another KO loss and Napman’s* FINISHED if he even survives.Posted May 23, 2014 2:29 pm
Only way fight happens is if both lose and their paydays against other opponents decline enough that they’d want to cash out with a big payday against each other. Even when their skills erode it’s something that would sell a lot of PPVs. They can both GTFO. I’d like to see both of them KTFO in their next fights as punishment for denying boxing fans all these years.Posted May 23, 2014 2:17 pm
Manny is the best.Posted May 23, 2014 1:54 pm
Floyd won’t ever fight Pacquiao, everyone knows that. Stop throwing this carrot out there.Posted May 23, 2014 1:38 pm
If may vs pac doesn’t take place in 2014 or early very early 2015, that fight falls into typical Mayweather format, wait the fighter out.
I’ll give may credit if he beats pacquiao now even thou pacquiao isnt the beast he once was, however, mid to late 2015 I’ll be the first to bash Mayweather for fighting a wornout, way past his prime manny.Posted May 23, 2014 1:36 pm
Fight will happen at the end of Floyd’s career…or if he lose to someone else. It’s sad to know that Floyd is ducking Pacman. It would have been a great fight. I understand that fighting PacmAn now is a risky business because of Floyd’s status as the highest paid boxer.Posted May 23, 2014 1:06 pm
Both sides need this fight to happen. Both sides are seeing ppv numbers dropping and both sides are running out of viable opponents to face. With Pac’s side willing to agree to testing and a 60/40 cut going to Mayweather, the only thing that should have to happen is to put pen to paper. Unfortunately, one side has expressed in no uncertain terms that they are unwilling to do business with the other side. Unless this changes, I don’t care what Arum says, the fight won’t happen, period.Posted May 23, 2014 12:33 pm
Why does arum do this knowing full well he has no intentions of matching Pac outside the stable? Pacs matchups are already set for the next two years. This year will be provo…in april bradley 3, november…alvarado…2016….bradley 4…and mickey garcia to finish up his contract. And then Pac will resign and repeat the above process.Posted May 23, 2014 12:25 pm
I hope it happens, both make 100 million, and it ends on a clash of heads in the 1st round. That would really put and the importance of one fight and greed in boxing into perspective. Nobody involved in this fight, including those who have been obsessing over it, deserve to win.Posted May 23, 2014 12:04 pm

Use Floyd Mayweather’s name to build some excitement for JMM vs Quackman V; ya know, the usual.Posted May 23, 2014 11:39 am
Btw, the third cornerstone of Team Punkuiao’s* careful matchmaking strategy is Pacquiao* not experiencing another loss before an overdue “showdown” v. Mayweather in 2016. however, another Pacquiao* loss (or at-least another controversial “win”) is imminent. following III, Pacquiao* had painted himself into a corner that only his DEVASTATING KO loss v. Marquez got him out of. he now finds himself in boxing’s deepest division with no faded Names, soft-touches, or low-hanging fruit to choose from and how long can he avoid the likes of Thurman, Porter, Khan, Garcia, Maidana, Mathysse, or even Herrera without continuing to severely compromise his marketability? at which point, facing Pacquiao* will make no sense to “Money” in 2016.Posted May 23, 2014 11:33 am
“especially with a ton of other options to make colossal paydays out there”. there are ZERO colossal paydays out there for Pacquiao*. particularly with his dwindling PPV appeal, which has drifted in the opposite direction as Mayweather’s. “Why don’t I do those three fights (Showtime) for the easy money and then in 2016, with my 50th fight, I could beat the (49-0) record of Marciano by fighting Pacquiao’,”. (lol) precisely what i’ve been posting all-along. Team Pacquiao* has been waiting until the last possible moment for maximum ringwear and decline before daring to face Mayweather. the less prime the better. the same strategy they employed v. Marquez and are STILL hoping will finally materialize into the desired scenario v. a 40-something Marquez. meanwhile, avoiding a prime Mayweather has always been the other cornerstone of Team Punkuiao’s* matchmaking strategy. what sane person or true fight-fan can still delude themselves into believing otherwise?Posted May 23, 2014 11:26 am
