Gonzo the Dragonborn – Part Man, Part Vulture, Part Baboon, Part Machine

OMG! I just watched the post-fight presser. What a rancid STD infested gaping vulture’s cnut of a ‘human being’ Floyd is. That grotesquely ugly pig-brained bastard literally has no redeeming features at all. He’s easily one of most utterly pathetic, stupid creatures I’ve ever suffered the gross misfortune to lay eyes upon. The endless stream of inane sewage that comes out of his mouth could fill the length and breath of ever ocean in the world ten times over. And as for all those sycophants and yes-men and yes-whores he surrounds himself with, I’d delight in slicing the throats of each and everyone one of those repulsive reptiles.

I actually find it scary how oblivious not only he and his sycophants are to how utterly repulsive and grotesque they all are, but also how his legions of ridiculous fans are to it too. The whole thing is a sick joke minus a punchline. It’s a carnival freak show. These kind of ‘people’ need to be taken out of the gene pool immediately, preferably via slow blood curdling rape and anal torture.

Like many of the dark boxers Floyd lacks respect and has little honour. It is not the way of the bushi the warrior to speak with forked tongue mockingan opponent one moment and making praise mountains the next to paint a picture that a fight has good ki. It is due to this childish impulses that the dark ones will never be true samurai but always peasant no matter how many gaudy accoutrements they acquire.

Haimat

Canelo had a terrible strategy in his fight against Floyd. Canelo would have easily defeated Floyd had he fought, not respected the pop shotting. Trying to outbox a quicker fighter with a 20 years advantage in experience is about as dumb a game plan as they get. Maidana pointed this out after the fight.

Floyd looked ordinary against Maidana. He barely beat him and showed nothing special. In reality he’s not the p4p king no more but we’ll have to ride along and watch him cherry pick his last 3 opponents which won’t be easy whoever he chooses, even Khan will be a handful.

Floyd got expose he can’t fight inside, now all his fighter will not have any respect for Floyd and know it pressure and more pressure, even rio is faster than maidana same style but better. And prov, or porter, or thurman,or lara, or khan, or Garcia , all wants a chance beat or knock Floyd head off.

All faster that maidana a c-rated fighter that lost to many already. But was a war for Floyd , and he lost 6 round but was given the fight.

They can’t work under manny any more. Or they will rip him off to get even. PAC know this he not dumb.

@carter
What? That does not even make sense. Ali in the ring was incredibly gifted but was always open to a crafty left hook with a bite.
He is a top 3 heavyweight and could have beaten or been beaten by the other 2 pending on how they felt that night.
But outside of the ring Alis life and character are NOT what we are made to believe. So when Ali says something and it is called Devine thought and rule than that is a joke.

Fact is Arum doesn’t want this fight and the way Pac is trying to resign with Arum is saying he probably does not want this fight either. He knows if he is with Arum the fight won’t be made. Pac could make more money being his own promoter and do what Floyd has done with Golden Boy. No way Arum wouldn’t work with Pac. From what I have read though is that Pac may have borrowed money from Arum and he is gonna have to stay with him. Don’t know if it is true or not just what I have read. But I definitely believe Arum does not want to put Pac in with Floyd. Just like he didn’t want to put Cotto in with Floyd.

Floyd will double what he is making now if he fights Pacman! I understand what is greedy and scared and Floyd is both!

Posted May 6, 2014 10:59 pm

At the same time, Floyd was guaranteed 32 million, and he thinks after its all said and done, he could more than double that based on how his business side is set up. So, business wise, Floyd is a lot smarter. And, it will only make it harder for Pac/May to come off unless Arum is out of the picture and Pac accepts a deal below what he thinks he will get with the 55/45 or whatever it is at this point.
When you can make 32 guarantee, 70+ million when its all said and done counted overall, you are in great position to Rockefeller anyone in the sport.

But he is a great fighter. A fight between him and Floyd could go either wAy and I’m no fan of Floyd but every fighter can have a off night but it’s easier to point out the bests bad night. I thinking was a wake up call for him that he has his hands in to many things while trying to be the best boxer in the world. But the fight reminded me of Ray Leonard vs Roberto Duran 1 but this time Ray squeeked out the win.

Manny Pacquiao showcased his brilliant boxing skills in both the Brandon Rios and Timothy Bradley fights. His graceful movement and technical sharp shooting punches left fans speechless. Manny Pacquiao had rewarded boxing fans for 10 plus years using a ferocious, aggressive, hurricane type fighting style that had never been seen before. His fights were exciting and dynamic. Fans got more than their money’s worth watching the greatest pure fighter of all time dissect , dismantle and destroy every opponent he faced. Manny Pacquiao then tricked us all by coming out and overwhelming Bradley and Rios with a boxing style that reminded us fans of the great Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson and Sugar Ray Leonard. Manny Pacquiao’s boxing was pure beauty. He was a Leonardo Da vinci painting the Mona Lisa. His transformation shocked us all, which led many to believe that Manny Pacquiao was not only the greatest pure fighter of all time but also the best boxer. Saturday night’s fight spoke volumes about the limitations of Floyd Mayweather and why he could never have beaten Manny Pacquiao. You must understand that Floyd actually tried fighting, something Manny has been doing for years. Marcos Maidana had Floyd hugging and holding on for life, which basically showed fans his fear and insecurity of fighting in a mano y mano type of fight. Floyd Mayweather tried to be macho, and show fight fans that he was tough. What he did was show us that he lacks the confidence and courage to win on another man’s turf. He cannot make the adjustment as his little brother Adrien Broner also failed at. Maidana on the other handed wanted Floyd to stand and fight and prove his worth as a true fighting warrior. Floyd Mayweather failed. And Manny Pacquiao, the greatest warrior to ever step into the ring made the adjustment from fighter to boxer with ease. He boxed with inspirational boxing techniques that had millions of fight fans tearing up. Manny proved he could change his style, Floyd showed us that he couldn’t. Holding on for dear life told true fight fans that he wanted no part of a real fight. He basically surrendered and threw in the towel. Boxing is about true warrior that don’t give up. They fight to the end. They have no quit in them. They would rather go down on their shield. Floyd Mayweather will never reach the heights of Manny Pacquiao. Manny is a true fighter. He is a monument to be saluted every time you see him. Stand up and salute the little big man. Boxing Historians can place a picture of Manny Pacquiao right next to the word Greatness. Trust me on this, no one beats Manny Pacquiao on a one fight basis. His domination of a sport will never be equaled. Manny is the best!

Mr. Flintstone

Caveman Flintstone Maidana gave us a glimse into the past prehistoric world of the cavemen of long ago! His kicks, knees, downward punching, grappling & the like were used to smash hard shelled prey of the Jurrassic kind of long ago. His cave dwellings are filled with fresh meat that is caught during the day, because lions, deer, nor water buffalos stand a chance of escaping his wild MMA bedrock tactics! A true caveman in the making indeed! He has certainly gotten better at being more determined & skilled at becoming wilder as he fought his last human. Yabba Dabba do is the call of the Caveman that needs no handheld weapons, his body has turned into the wildest weapons of choice!!! Long live the New Wild Caveman that has garnered the likes of the prehistoric NEW generation of MMA grappling & Rhino headbutting!!!

Floyd outperformed Manny vs Marquez .

Floyds last opponent Maidana has NEVER beaten a world class fighter ( Broner is the new Berto , beat him and you fight Floyd ) . Devon Alexander , Khan and Kotelnik defeated him .

Do you believe FMJ is the best fighter in history Redmond ?

Do you believe he is in the top 5 welterweights of all time , Redmond . If so , why ?

Do you disagree with my view that Floyd lacks physical size and strength at 147 ?

Do you disagree with the notion that Floyd went into that phony “retirement “so he could duck Margarito , Pacquiao , a younger , less damaged Cotto and Clottey ? Nobody could argue that Guerrero , Ortiz and Canelo are as good as those fighters were.

Thomas Hearns was a GREAT fighter, that said Tommy did not have Floyds IQ in the ring thats why he fought Hagler like a Macho fool, Gave up a lead and let Leonard knock him out in the 14th and somehow got stopped by Iran Barkley… Mayweather is a different beast even the GREAT SRL was a doormat at 37 whereas Money May is STILL the #1 fighter P4P in the world and a serious threat to retire undefeated and never hitting the deck… Maidanas power was nullifed thats why he is yanking his bone to bogus Compubox stats and he lost the contest…

Manny Pacquiao has been knocked out 3x and to guys that Floyd Mayweather would wipe the floor with OOOPS he did wipe the floor with Marquez who is a Great boxer in his own right but not really a threat to FMJ on his best day… Floyd and Manny are simply not equals Mayweather always finds a way to win, whereas Manny is intermittently beatable despite a serious HOF career he has crafted..By the time Manny had 46 bouts he had been stopped 2x, whereas Mayweather has never legit hit the deck and has only lost ONE card in his entire career and over 21 Championship fights… Dominance personified

After all, only a scared, cherry-picking paper champion, selling the notion that he is somehow The Best Ever (TBE), would let his potential opponent’s fans eat away at his honor, and legacy, and start to question his heart as a deserving champion, the way FLOYD has for five years now… If I was Floyd and I TRULY thought Pacman wasn’t on my level, then I would have simply outclassed the guy and shut his fans up by 2010! PED notion or NOT!!!

Because after all, Manny can’t hurt what he can’t hit, right?! NOPE… HE CAN NOT!!

Old Coot

Carter… Cotto called Floyd out, before Floyd left.

Clottey… No one was saying who cares about Clottey back then.

Margarito… Same as Clottey back then too. People thought Margo’s tough beard, relentless forward press, punch output and power would overtake Floyd back then… Which we see in hindsight may not have been the case… But to repeat, that was not the viewpoint at the time.

Tszu… Floyd flat-out ducked the guy, before Hatton made him quit. Period.

Floyd faux retired to avoid rematches with De La-Hoya and Hatton (who was beaten more by referee Joe Cortez’ constant interference, than he was by Mayweather’s fists).
Then Floyd comes back from vacation in 2009 by chosing the slow-footed and then newly muscle-bloated Marquez, who had just fought two classes lower as a Lightweight less than 5 months earlier, but whom Floyd still felt the fear-instilled need to come in overweight against anywya. Instead of waiting just two days to sign with Pacman as expected.
Posted May 6, 2014 5:39 pm

Tszyu disagrees with you. He himself on his website (when active) said he could have gotten the fight with Floyd. That he was just a call away.
A lot had to do with business first. Tszyu, Showtime, Floyd, HBO. Not enough money to get these two together.

Margarito is SLOOOOOOOOW. Back then, Floyd was a mover nonstop. It wouldn’t have been much of a match.

Clottey wasn’t that good.

I swear, if Floyd fights fighter A, he is ducking Fighter B. He fights fighter B and he is ducking Fighter C.

Oscar wouldn’t give Floyd the money he wanted that Floyd felted entitled to after he beat Oscar. Shane took the same ground as Floyd did prior.

JMM at 147 Knocked out Pac. When asked if he wanted a rematch with Floyd he said “NO.” Styles make fights. JMM didn’t think he could beat Floyd in a rematch. Your point is mute. two pounds is that big of a deal? He was still under 147. And given Floyd’s inability to blow up in weight by fight-time, his weight of 148 last time out, if any indication, shows that he is not a true WW by today’s standards. Actually, go look at Manny and JMM fight-time weights for their fights in the lower weight divisions. JMM weighed in at 150 pounds in Pac/JMM III.

Floyd ducked Paul Williams. But so did others including Pac.

Posted May 6, 2014 6:28 pm

Both prime Margarito and prime Clottey at 147 are mules , there was a reason Floyd ducked them .

Posted May 6, 2014 6:05 pm

SANITY

The most overrated thing about Mayweather is his actual lack of physical presence , size and strength.

Especially at 140 and over. Great fighters at any weight are usually what us in the biz call “Mules or Roosters”. In other words they are exceptionally strong or large at the weight. Floyd is a smallish modern welterweight, in fact he is more similar in size to an old school welter from the same day weigh in era.

Some examples of mules – Carlos Zarate at 118 , Duran at 135 , Leonard and Hearns at 147 , Bob Foster and Michael Spinks at 175. Carlos Monzon at 160. Andre Ward at 168 is a modern example as is Sakio Bika at 168.

Maidana at 140 was a real mule, at 147 he is still a beast but not as strong in comparison as he is at 140.

There is a reason Floyd has faced mainly guys who started at 135-140 in his welter fights.

Can you really imagine Mayweather facing Hearns ( who would not be weight drained at 147 with the modern weigh in rule and who would have come in the ring looking like he did against Hagler and Schuler ) .

Floyd is possibly a great lightweight ( although he didnt beat much at that weight ) but in no way is he a great welterweight.

He wasn’t going to face GGG and Martinez: To big, to skilled for that weight class.

And he wouldn’t have faced the ATG at WW either like SRR, Tommy Hearns, SRL, etc. and maybe even Duran. After all, we should remember that our health comes first.

Seriously, that line pisses me off. You are a FIGHTER. Get with the program. I’m all for fair play. Additional testing, checking wraps and gloves, you can move around when fighting and so on…but don’t act like a prima-donna pre-fight because its absurd.
For someone that fights back when hurt, what is he even thinking before someone hits him in the head and knocks some sense back into him?

Floyd ducked… Mosely for 7 years until he was old!!! Then Floyd ducked prime, undefeated versions of- Clottey, Cotto, Margarito (pre-cheat), Paul Williams, Tszu, and ANY version of Pacquiao.
Posted May 6, 2014 4:54 pm

He only ducked Williams.

Cotto was not allowed to face Floyd because Arum saw him beat up another Puerto-Rican tained by Uncle Cotto, and Floyd left Top Rank.

Clottey, who cares.

Margarito, Top Rank. Floyd would have won a boring pot shot fest because back then, he was younger and moved a lot instead of sitting up against the ropes like Ali did later in his career. Shane beat him with speed. So did Manny.

Tszyu, showtime fighter. blew it by losing to Hatton just like he blew his future fight with Oscar by losing to Phillips. I love how Oscar and Floyd somehow avoided Tszyu. It’s laugable. Especially Oscar who fought greater opponents than Tszyu. Tszyu avoided the entire Welterweight division when it was loaded with Talent.
He even admitted Floyd wanted him and could get the fight.

He clearly ducked Paul Williams.

Pac turned down additional drug testing, later turned down 40 million. Even dana white said he should have taken it.

10 times Maidana??? LOL, how does that work?

Mosley won every round from MargaCheato and knocked him TFO!!! Then Floyd beat the fuk out of Shane in Mosley’s next fight.. Little Manny Pacquiao won every round and punched Cheato’s defenseless face in.. Then Cotto boxed Cheato’s ass off, slamming his eye shut—and retired the cheating MFer. Cheato Rito couldn’t beat anyone good without his plaster casts you idiot. Look at what he’s done since he’s been exposed by Nazim … NOTHING!!!

Floyd Mayweather showed ANOTHER dimension to his abilities as if that was possible…He does NOT fold under pressure he rises to the occasion! When Cotto and Maidana made it hard Floyd stayed composed and found a way to get clean head strikes on both men while evading damage.. Maidana is a brawler and against Broner he was able to land hurtful punches that put his man down, against Floyd he was unable to land “money shots” settling for glancing blows and rough house tactics which were his best chance so I cannot fault him… But the bottomline is that Mayweather imposed his accuracy and clean punching to proper effect over the second half of the bout… Maidana lost and there might be a rematch which creates some intrigue due to the difficulty Floyd had to go thru to get the win.

LMAO
Amir Khan has just accused Luis Collazo of being a dirty fighter on Box Nation interview.
Amir Khan used an MMA kimura arm hold to prize Collazo’s arm and wedge it behind his back so he could expose his midsection and cracked him with a hook that dropped him in the 10th round.
Khan is possibly the dirtiest fighter in the game.
He head butted Barrera opening up a huge gash. Actually as a Lightweight he had a hit and rush style that used his momentum to bull them into the ropes as his fists flailed but as a Light Welter he learned to push, lean on, elbow, use his head, hug, clinch, grapple and hold. He has now had a year to learn MMA Class 101 with Andre Ward and Virgil Hunter and he had class in session Saturday night against a dummy who left his defence and his arms at home. Cheating Khant.

Carter. Srr robinson fought at ww all the way up to lhw and didnt duck everyone like floyd does. Srr is miles better than floyd. You think floyd would have fought lamotta 4 times? Hell no!
Posted May 6, 2014 12:53 pm

not my point. My point was simple, what were these ATG like at 37? What is any PRO athlete (and I’m not counting Golf or those type of “activities/games), like at 37?

By the way, SRR ducked Charley Burley. And according to Emanuel Steward, he knew people that said SRR had trouble with Taller/Rangy fighters so he wasn’t exactly going to go after those fighters. This was discussed when Emanuel wondered how Hearns would do against SRR. That’s when he was told Robinson had trouble with those type of guys. It was found out in sparring.

SRR is still better. A true WW also. Floyd and Pac and the rest today don’t compare to the ATG at WW like SRR, and the whole SRL era of WW.

Floyd, like Pac, are better below 147.

Jake was physically thick, strong, but wasn’t a puncher. He also wasn’t that skilled. And he wasn’t tall. He still outweighed SRR but SRR had many things favoring him.

Floyd didn’t know what to do with Maidana. I give credit to Maidana that when Floyd cover his head he goes to the body and then when Floyd lowered his hands Maidana go swing up high and lands on top of Floyd’s head. If Maidana have use the second choice of gloves that the commission aproved, Floyd would have gone down and lose. I give credit to Floyd also for doing what he do best demand to take away the power of Maidana by choosing a bigger gloves and nuetralize the power of Maidana. Floyd still got it! His talent comes from knowing! Demands everything in his favor. No wonder he is scared to fight Pacman he knows no matter what demand he ask if Pacman he will lose.

Posted May 6, 2014 12:45 pm

Now that we are seeing Floyd more vulnerable at 37, people are trying to rewrite history as if this is what Floyd is. That this version of Floyd should be matched up with fighters of the past. Not the 27 year old Floyd but the 37 year old Floyd. Unbelievable. Should we do the same for SRR who lost a lot more when he was at that age? How about Ali? And the rest.

Floyd would have beaten Margarito. That’s the big thing now. Margito vs. Floyd as if a 37 year old was the same as the younger one. Seriously, back then Floyd would have won a boring fight. He got the “runner” stamp back then. All he did was run around, pot shot, move, etc. He just can’t do that anymore. To old. So, different versions. Margarito couldn’t even handle a past prime shane’s speed.

I saw something similar when Pac was knocked out cold. All of a sudden his chin was weak and he got exposed. People were listing off the names of counter punchers that would destroy him.

Or Tyson always gets dominated by Lewis like that. Sure, maybe he still loses but Lewis isn’t dominating him. He couldn’t even dominate Ray Mercer who was over-weight.

FLOYD DID DUCK WILLIAMS THOUGH.

E in Denver

‘Floyd dominated the fight’, ‘maidana hitting behind the head’, Firstly Jr didn’t dominate the fight. It was a close fight. Jr was on his heels the majority of the fight & was forced to fight Maidana’s fight. We have seen Jr dominate almost all his fights & they don’t look like this. Jr doesn’t willingly take shots, if he is taking shots it is because he doesn’t have a choice. As to the shots to the back of the head. Yes, there was a lot & some other foul shots. Jr rolls that shoulder & quickly turns his back to his opponent to avoid the right. That exposes the back of the head. That falls under ‘Protect yourself at all times’. If we are going to be fair then we should also point out that elbows, forearms & pushing (all fouls) were allowed from Jr as well. Jr was forced to fight Maidana’s fight & still kept it close. He deserves credit for that.

Some of the myth of Floyd putting in the work is just that maybe. Jeff did say that Floyd jr trains himself. His dad and uncle are there but it really is Jr doing what he wants to do.
Jr even admitted his dad was giving him all the right instructions but he was doing his own thing. Next time, you can count on Jr. listening to Sr.

I remember hearing the same thing about Jones Jr.
He used to do everything in training but as he got older, he start to skip what he needed to do. It caught up to him too.

Ok

What surprised me is that Floyd Sr. just recently said that Floyd jr needs to put more work in the gym. He isn’t putting his punches together and the only way to get that back is to be in the gym and doing it. Last time we saw Floyd throw “punches in bunches” was at 140. That’s a long time ago.

And it’s not like his advantage is all there anymore either. He has looked slower when throwing combinations for a while now.

Ok

I don’t think Floyds head was in the fight Saturday and Marcos couldn’t seal the deal. This was a rare moment he will bounce back that’s what champions do. He didnt loose but this wasnt his best performance I think he has alot of things going on outside the ring messing with his head. Love is a motherf**ker Manny is not on top and all these pactards do is cry. Floyd is brash and arrogant so people hate but he is human nd he does things to sell fights, Doesn’t made him a bad person, he should give Marcos a rematch immediately he already stated he would no biggie he had close fights before like Oscar, and Castillo he always finds ways to win. Not a lost but not the best fight either it was ugly and close Marcos didnt win though by no means….

Sorry, but again, Pro Boxers and Trainers and many writers (who I actually don’t count any higher than a fans opinion)…had it for Floyd in a close win. It was about effective punching.

For me, I too had it very close but favored Floyd slightly. Maybe 2 rounds.

What we all did love is that Maidana stayed on Floyd just whaling away. Missing or not, he kept coming.

AH HA

Its over fellas Floyd just lost to a gatekeeper or at best fought his way back to a draw. Miadana controlled the ring completely winning the ring generalship battle and did way more damage over the course of the fight. Floyds little arm punches had no effect on Miadana so it did little to swing the fight in his favor. Floyd simply left the ring the more beaten and bruised fighter. Floyd gave away the 1st 5 rounds hoping Chino would gas but he didn’t. Pretty clear now why Floyd ducked Pac he would’ve been beaten to a pulp. Floyds finished his 0 means nothing with 2 gift decisions in his career.

Maidana did win first 5 out of 6 rds. Floyd won 3, 4 rds even or Maidana took back. Maidana controlled the fight , no where in the fight did Floyd take complete control of fight. Ive re watched fight in slow motion, and floyd did miss a lot of punches and Maidana used his jab a lot. Im a Floyd fan but he lost ,or at least a draw if Maidana needed a ko to prove something. Floyd also used his elbows and fore arms ,at times first. Ive watched all of Maidanas fights since 2009,except 1 that wasnt on tv, also a fan. If your a true boxjng fan with knowledge of the sport you can see a win or a lost when it happens. Floyds hands all shaking at the end of fight tells you Maidana roughed him up ,not Floyd giving the fans a fight.

Marcos Maidana won the fight 116-114 without question. I watched it a few times without bias in any way and without the volume. Fans around the world are correct in saying Floyd Mayweather got away with robbery against Maidana as he has in the past against Oscar De La Hoya and Jose Luis Castillo. Floyd Mayweather is not looked upon as an undefeated fighter because he’s really not. He was hit, roughed up and his constant holding because he couldn’t deal with a tough fighter made him panic and hold on for life. Holding, hugging or tying up as many put it is illegal. The referee should have taken points away. Holding is like putting your hands up and telling your opponent that he’s too much to handle. Marcos Maidana won 5 of the first 6 rounds. Look at the replay and see for yourself. He was landing the jab on Floyd when he wanted to. Floyd was missing by miles, and many of his punches were off the mark. He did have a few clean ones, but the crowd screamed even though the punch was a glancing blow or didn’t land. Maidana was the better man, and Floyd and his fans know this. Some people need to learn how to score a professional boxing match not an amateur boxing match. Maidana was effective throughout the fight. The 114-114 scorecard was more like it, but the truth is that one blind judge that should be banned for life had Mayweather winning 117-111?? What a pathetic joke. Regardless, Mayweather has been exposed, and the boxing world knows full well why Mayweather never wanted to fight the legendary, 8 division boxing champion and Fighter of the Decade. I knew all along Floyd Mayweather could not deal with Manny’s fighting style. Manny would have simply knocked Floyd Mayweather out cold. Too fast, strong, and brutalizing power in this southpaw fighting machine. The debate is over. The great Manny Pacquiao is the unanimous best fighter of his era as the Fighter of The Decade voted on by the best sports writers in the country voted Manny Pacquiao as being the best. What we all saw on Saturday night finally answered the question. Who was better, Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. The winner, Manny Pacquiao. His legacy will live forever. His fights are memorable and exciting. The boxing world loves this man. Manny Pacquiao is a living legend, and he obviously doesn’t need Floyd Mayweather for anything. Floyd Mayweather is done.

Dan Adams

IMO, Floyd won, but it was closer than two of the judges had it. Probably a two-point advantage. In the anticipated rematch, Mayweather should stay mid-ring and Floyd should move around Maidana after firing off quick combinations, instead of backing up in a straight line to the ropes, where Maidana’s weight advantage (almost 20 pounds by fight time) and power is most-effective.

Posted May 6, 2014 8:49 am

Floyd made the fight as it was; he wasn’t in his typical offensive mode. Not much difference between Maidana and Castillo however, Floyd will school Maidana in the rematch. Had the fight gone as most were predicting it would, it would have summed up what most fans thought. However, a different take took place so that a better PPV audience appears for the rematch.

Lots of back and forth on who won this fight. Mayweather got the decision. Fight fans either for or against Mayweather have gotten use to Floyd out classing and out boxing his opponents, it didn’t happen this time. Maidana employed Hopkins tactics and is called a dirty fighter. When Hopkins does the same thing it’s called crafty or old school. C’mon man! I saw it a draw or a narrow win by Mayweather, Maidana showed up to fight. Mayweather was given the benefit of the doubt like Ali, Leanard, De La Hoya. Those fighters have some wins on their resume that are questionable. I think age is catching up with Mayweather and he wasn’t able to keep Maidana off like he could have or would have in the past. Maidana coulld get a rematch but not sure if he will get one. After that fight I’m not sure any top level fighters will get a shot at Mayweather. Going to be some creative promoting for his next three fights.

That Manny would beat Mayweather etc. At least Manny wont bull in, he would come to fight. And on pure boxing level, likeky wont win. See i am not Mayweather or Pacquio i said likely, unlike these phantom keyboard tough guys who already know the result even before the contest occur. As you know they arre ex boxers, trainers, cuts men etc. Yeah right!!!!!

1-2 1-2

Maidana and his trainer with the choreographed victory celebration before the results were announced in the ring are so full of if. Just got to see the fight just now after reading so many one-sided comments here that mayweather lost. Hmmm pull the other one jokers. Not only did Maidana lose the fight, he never came to fight but get physical. That wasn’t a boxing match. This is boxing not a strong man contest. (Headbutts, wrestling to the ground, at one stage he even raised his knee to try to kick Mayweather.

Hey guys floyd mayweather just announced who hes fighting next.. Now i believe floyd isnt a cherry picker.. Hes fighting the most dangerous man on the planet…… Charlie zelenoff!!! Charlie has a good chance with his 5000 psi left hook.

KOrnerman

I’d never seen Floyd miss as many punches too, Chino’s compact size helped him out there, kept low with some good upper body movement, he got hit a lot less than expected, he’s an all round improved fighter under Garcia.

the fact Chino was made wear foam pillow gloves didn’t help.

Floyd wants to retire undefeated.. Period. And he will pick and choose whoever suits his style best.. Honestly i dont even know what hes afraid of, because i think he would beat pacman by decision.. He should just whip his ass and get it over with..

@Hecdog: This fool is a Mayweather haters and a Manny lover. Nothing wrong with that, I have stop reading his long nonsense junk against Floyd and praises for Manny.

Why wont he fight manny? Thats the question.. The answer to that question is the same reason why he didnt fight amir khan.. If floyd doesnt have an advantage then he aint fighting you..period.. He aint no all time great.. Hes a fraud..a rich fraud..

Posted May 6, 2014 3:41 am

@Fallen: and this man still makes lots of money without your purchase! Continue, don’t buy his fights and let’s see if that will make a difference.

Posted May 6, 2014 3:36 am

Fallen

Arum or no arum, floyd will always dig up an excuse not to fight manny..you guys didnt see tim bradley crying about his health and drug testing..he manned up and fought.. Difference is floyd isnt that type of man.. I didnt purchase this fight, and i wont purchase any other mayweather fight unless manny is on the opposite side of that ring..

Posted May 6, 2014 3:34 am

Ok

Yeah he could have stayed on the outside and outboxes Maidana easy. Marco fough a smart fight and came up shot but a great fight all the same Floyd finds a way to win. I think he wanted to mix it up for the fans he fought Cotto the same way, but with Canelo he used boxing and foot work…

Shots many not have landed but a lot of those shots did land. Toughest fight for Floyd as it was said and Floyd’s reaction and face bear the stigma of it.

Posted May 6, 2014 2:51 am

Opinion

Maidana threw lots of punches, only few landing. Only landed shots count.

Posted May 6, 2014 2:46 am

Floyd was throwing a lot of shot that didn’t land also and he was hugging and grappling a lot too.

From rounds 1 to 6, Maidana won rounds 1,3,4,5,6, and from rounds 7 to 12 Maidana won 11, 12 for a total of 7 rounds won by Maidana and more if you add the rounds that could have gone either way.
Posted May 6, 2014 2:25 am

Clean shot is misleading, especially when it was far in between and not enough of it (from Floyd). Surely, Maidana landed more shots than Floyd and many of that shots are also clean shots to the body and to the head of Floyd. Maidana won this fight.

Posted May 6, 2014 2:34 am

PEEJ

Your correct I am not sure but my opinion is he out points him next time and it will be much clearer with a wider margin. I was just making a point about the ringside media who basically all had Floyd winning 115 to 113. And that is my point. And no Maidana didn’t get robbed. Throwing punches and not landing does not mean you win the fight. Throwing more punches than your opponents does not win the fights, you have to also land more. And Maidana didn’t

What? The walking punching bag Maidana beat Floyd? Looks like it. Floyd is obviously overrated thanks to the hype machine, markeeting hype, and cherrypicking ways, Floyd has made him to be the TBE (a fraudulant claim).

I’m not exactly sure where Bradley/Pac comes into this or what significance any of that has to me? I was talking about Maidana/ Mayweather. How are you sure an aging Mayweather does anything other than get flattened next time? Clearly, your bias. And again I.don’t care how many.mindless media ppl had Floyd winning and yes, Maidana did get robbed with a loss AND totally opposite scorecards of reality.

Posted May 6, 2014 2:11 am

PEEJ

Hecdog you are completely bias against Floyd so stop with this without bias stuff. If you were with out bias you would see Pac clearly lost the 3rd Marquez fight but you can’t and wont

Posted May 6, 2014 2:03 am

PEEJ

Floyd won, you don’t have to drink the koolaide. Most media people had Floyd winning. Funny how when Pac lost to Bradley everybody said every media person had Pac winning and that is how they started every argument. But when it applies to Floyd it is koolaide. It was a close fight. Floyd landed more punches, the fan friendly punches, did not have a lot of wasted punches which is not effective aggression. If you had Maidana winning that is fine. But it was a fight that could of gone either way which is no robbery. If you think that Maidana won and that is it then you can’t score a fight plain and simple. Maidana fought a good fight and will get his rematch along with a fatter paycheck and he will lose a decision with Floyd fighting a fight to were he is moving around and not just standing right in front of Maidana.

Posted May 6, 2014 2:02 am

Hecdog

Peej, enough. You have an agenda. Floyd lost. I’m not drinking the “popular media choice” kool-aide. If you watched that fight and didn’t see Floyd get beat, I mean, render yourself mindless. Don’t accuse people of hate for trusting their own eyes instead of being mindless. What you are doing is called “gas lighting”.

Posted May 6, 2014 1:45 am

Conservatively, I give 7 to Maidana. Judges scoring for FMJ 116 and 117 show that there is no honor in boxing. Someone here said “hate” (for Floyd) is killing the sport. I agree that hate is killing the sport, Hate for injustice and unfair scores. Watch how quick the sport degrades with results like this and vera/Chavez I. Most people can be honest enough with themselves even with boxer bias to know that a boxer won or lost.

Manny actually lost to Hussein, Sanchez, and 4 times to Juan Manuel Marquez. When someone gives Floyd a fight, it makes it seem like he “won” because everyone is so surprised.

Not sure who Floyd lost this fight but won on the score cards. Floyd was landing the cleaner punches and was landing more often than what Maidana was doing. Maidana was just throwing punches from everywhere. It was a good plan and that is what he does but he was missing a lot of punches. Hitting Floyd behind the head and even tried to knee Floyd. He had no respect for Floyd and that is why this fight turned out the way it did. I think Floyd makes the adjustments for the rematch and wins by a wider margin. I picked Floyd by stoppage but he isn’t gonna KO Maidana

His fight with floyd was a draw. Floyd fought gatti after oscar destroyed him. Cotto had been brutally ko by marg and pac. Plus the beating clottey gave him. Hatton pac knocked out hatton in two rounds. Canelo best win is trout.

I had Floyd winning the fight by a point or two. Maidana with Angel Heredia would have beaten Floyd into a pulp.

Posted May 5, 2014 4:28 pm

Haimat

Maidana hit Floyd quite easily. He landed more power punches than Floyd and in all honesty beat him up for the first half of the fight.
I cannot see Floyd beating the elite fighters right now with a punch output of 30-40 punches a round. Pac would outland him, overwhelm Floyd with clean landed punches from all angles. Much like Maidana only better precision. GGG would dominate and knock Floyd out, easily I might add. Martinez is too old and would probably break from old injuries. The young guys, Thurman, Porter might be too inexperienced.

Posted May 5, 2014 4:26 pm

Jake Lead Rights

No way a draw nor a one point win….Floyd masterfully won the fight…8 to 4 is the way i had it…MM did well to have a high output but not everything was landing…Floyds punches were spot on….neither one of them landed a hurt punch neither was marked on the face. Both weren’t over exhuasted. Maidana decietful busy self didnt hurt floyd at all. The cut was from a headbutt…Watch it again and again and you’ll see what every Floyd hater saw….Floyd making MM miss and get hit
