PS, Chávez, Jr v Froch in LV is a bigger fight money wise that Froch v Ward, Chavez, Jr has a bigger fan base and probable would not price himself out of the market like Ward.Posted May 8, 2014 5:38 am
TARK – sorry bro… but that’s not the way i have seen it. Ward needs to lower his expectation and what he thinks he’s worth. What else has ward done since the super six… the dawson fight!! He thinks hes worth more but the reality is, He can hardly fill a small venue and his marketability and popularity is questionable. Froch has stated he would like to fight in LV. but he still aint going to do it on the cheep and let Ward Cream off the lions share… fact of the matter is Ward cannot and should not over price himself out of good match-ups due to his deluded level of self worth. So what has Ward done since the super six, apart from Dawson fight… and out pricing himself out a rematch with Froch, what else has Ward done?? FA is the answer to that.Posted May 8, 2014 5:23 am
OneInchPunch…, That’s a crock… Froch wouldn’t even talk seriously about fighting Ward in England… He didn’t even want to sit down and talk about it…
Carl also said, “I always said I would never fight Ward again, and that Ward would never be beaten. I don’t see how that result would change right now, but I believe I’ve lifted my game since we fought. That could be a possible future fight.” Since then he’s talked about a dream fight in Las Vegas to end his career. Sounds like a cash out proposition to me.
But Carl doesn’t sound positive about Ward.. I’m sure Ward would love Groves to win by KO.. He’s a confident kid. Andre would definitely would love to fight Groves in Wembley Stadium in England. Obviously the Brits would pack the joint to 100,000. Standing room GONE!!!Posted May 2, 2014 7:05 pm
Ward EQUALS BORING LIKE HOPKINS AND ISHE SMITH. Please die.Posted May 2, 2014 4:00 pm
Terrible decision making on wards part, his dumb ass manager should stick to rapping or whatever he does bc he obviously knows nothing bout boxing. I did really like ward n thought he was a standup guy, but this is rediculous. Thanks to goossen ward is undefeated and although he is not a huge draw has never had to play the role of b-side on a card. Andre needs to smarten up and quit listening to dummiesPosted May 2, 2014 1:48 pm
ward boring, unpleasant fighter, null personalityPosted May 2, 2014 9:12 am
@ Boxer – As i have been following boxing for over 36 years i do not count myself to be a child. Never-the-less age should not distract from a persons opinion… and unfortunately mine is that ward is a boring boxer to watch. i will not descend into childish name calling or immature insults as you have done to progress a view or an opinion.Posted May 2, 2014 5:05 am
TARK – it was not so much as Froch was not interested… but more like Ward has an over inflated value of his worth. Matchroom where not going to pay over the odds for ward….. He might be the best SMW but his marketability and popularity is questionable.Posted May 2, 2014 4:59 am
Nobody has given Ward attractive offers to fight abroad. No offers to date… He said a year ago he’d be willing to go to England to fight Froch. Froch wasn’t interested in a 2nd beating.Posted May 2, 2014 3:37 am
There are some big paydays available for Ward if he will decide to fight away from home.Posted May 1, 2014 10:50 pm
Ward is good, but his resume doesn’t compare to Floyd’s.
Ward’s top wins were Froch and Kessler. Floyd’s top wins were: Corrales… De La Hoya… Mosley… Judah… Marquez… Cotto… and Alvarez.
Floyd beat five 3-Division World Champions… Ward hasn’t done anything comparable. Ward hasn’t beaten a good boxer in his entire career… You have to say Marquez, De La Hoya, Cotto, and Alvarez were at least good boxers.Posted May 1, 2014 10:34 pm
Ward should be ranked number 1 p4p compare his resume to anyone’s including Floyd mayweathers, to the children that call Him boring find a new sport to watch this ain’t for youPosted May 1, 2014 8:30 pm
Boring fights are a drag. You might have thought Paulie vs Porter was going to be almost as boring to tears as Judah vs Paulie. But it was surprisingly interesting. Not from anything Paulie was doing but from the way Porter was smashing Paulie’s face in.
This is what I was hoping Broner would do to Paulie but he just didn’t have the firepower. There’s nothing like seeing a motor mouth getting his flapping yap shut tight as a drum with hard punches to the face. FABULOUS! So when are we going to see Porter fight Floyd?Posted May 1, 2014 4:28 pm
only the ones rooting for his opponents.Posted May 1, 2014 4:14 pm
ward fights bore the fans to tearsPosted May 1, 2014 4:05 pm
I like Ward because of his ring smarts including adaptability.Posted May 1, 2014 3:45 pm
agree with FA. ward made some serious $ in his last match, which was hard to watch.Posted May 1, 2014 2:29 pm
James Price probably deserves most of the blame in this situation. Mayweather didn’t do well when he was with Price as well, his father spoke out about it many times. I can’t remember any boxer who has thrived under Prince.Posted May 1, 2014 2:05 pm
I don’t think Ward is boring but I also know his style is not for everybody. I like Froch too but Ward is the champ and if you want to be the champ you got to beat the champ. All roads lead to Ward if you want to be champ. I also believe though if he had a different promoter and was not injury prone he would be more sell-able.Posted May 1, 2014 1:00 pm
Has Dan Goosen every made a fighter into a super star? who are the biggest fighters he ever promotedPosted May 1, 2014 12:40 pm
@peej thats bs hbo would pay ward and any one of his opponents real good money to showcase there fight. The uk would pay good money to have ward vs degale ,groves or even froch. The money and market is there for ward but he just doesnt want to do business with gossen anymore.Posted May 1, 2014 12:09 pm
PEEJ – spot on… you can be the best SMW out there but when you are boring as hell, do not want to travel and have Zero charisma you get what you deserve…. peanuts for pay. just compare Froch with ward… two 18’000 sell out crowds and 60’000+ in his next fight. and this is someone who lost to ward. i think it says it all about the way Ward has approached his career.Posted May 1, 2014 11:38 am
Keep your head UP Dre. YOU are the PRINCE of Boxing. The heir to the THRONE. You will soon be blessed beyond your wildest dreams. Obstacles cannot deter GREATNESS.Posted May 1, 2014 11:13 am
Now that that’s settled lets watch some real power come in and pay “The Goose” his “Golden Egg” to save Andre and get him back in the ring on the regular. I can see Don King’s finances moving in on this situation.Posted May 1, 2014 11:05 am
There would be no issue with Ward and Goosen if Goosen could get the fights we all want to see and get Ward the payday he wants. Unfortunately Ward can only sell in California and that isn’t all that great. So it is hard to get him the money he is looking for. Very unfortunate.Posted May 1, 2014 11:04 am
If Ward ability to fight is on hold, then the promotors ability to promote any fight should be placed on hold as well, for any fighter! This would make mr goosen come to table and do whats right. Look at goosen track record how many of his fighters have sued him or went to contract litigation with him in the past decade……7 out of 11 of his fighters have! But the CSAC who is in bed with goosen wont follow their own rules……this is why boxing continues to be the most crooked unregulated sport in the united states!Posted May 1, 2014 10:27 am
Fulfill your contract ward you weasel. Goosen supported your boring ass and got you into the super 6.Posted May 1, 2014 8:45 am
It’s criminal when a boxer’s career is put on hold due to legal issues. The best years of a boxer’s life waste away as his skills deteriorate with Ali being a prime example. Hopefully Ward will be back in ring before too long.Posted May 1, 2014 8:21 am
Bolo you totally missed the point it has nothig to do with PAY it has everything to do with your career. What is the point of fighting Ward. Do you have one good reason ???Posted May 1, 2014 7:53 am
Mick the Marmalizer
No ESB I’m not posting too quickly “sort your site out”!Posted May 1, 2014 5:36 am
I’ll be front and center when Ward returns to the ring. It good to be able to watch one of the best fighters today do his thing.Posted May 1, 2014 4:25 am
Hell just froze over as Ward gets his first loss in California vs Goosen. Now he wants a rematch. Get a passport and give Froch a rematch in Nottingham without all the hometown support, bias and corruption.
do you actually watch boxing, did you not see Froch turn down the fight with Ward live on HBO after he beat Bute. Froch wants no part of Ward anywhere in the world, Froch has made that clear. That is why he is fighting Groves again, because it was Groves or Ward. Those were his options, Froch took Groves.Posted May 1, 2014 4:23 am
Maybe the greatest boxer on the planet at the minute. But no one really cares.Posted May 1, 2014 4:00 am
Looking forward to seeing Ward back in the ring, as always! I just hope it’s soonPosted May 1, 2014 2:49 am
Well im pretty sure his lawyer knows what he is doing. Hopefully he gets a fight soon.Posted May 1, 2014 1:59 am
Seriously that the dummest s**t i ever heard lets not get paid to fight the best in the world. Im pretty sure all those guys you named got paid good money froch and abe made more money than him. A plague stfu! so they should run like f*gs?!? Rodriguez got paid 900,000!Posted May 1, 2014 1:50 am

So this Prince character and Andre are going to continue the pissing contest in court, leaving him on the shelf during the prime of his career. WTF is he suing anyhow? His fights have been on HBO since early in his career, he’s won multiple titles and got all the marquee fights. What’s the problem?Posted May 1, 2014 1:27 am
SOG or SOB?Posted May 1, 2014 1:21 am
Goosens allowed Ward to get his way in his personal tournament, Ward had his own personal referee, his judges, his home town, boxing commission, etc., I Ward’s tournament, he was the only boxer who never had to travel, headbutts were legal for him and him only, elbows, holding, cuffing, etc., Ward has had everything his way. Ward will only fight in his home town, Goosen’s made is easy for Ward, made him rich, so for all that Ward sues them?Posted May 1, 2014 12:44 am
The Fight Dr.
Ward’s biggest mistake was signing with Dan Goossen, he is notorious for this type of scenario. He did it with Michael Nunn in the 1980’s he doing it still today. Someone just took the money and signed bad decision biting you in the ass today Andre….Also having James Prince as an advisor? That’s like leaping out of the crocodile pool in to a lake of gators..Posted May 1, 2014 12:44 am
Sardis wasting his best years! Shame – shamePosted May 1, 2014 12:39 am
What did a Ward fight do for them??? It got them a whole pot load of money and a damned good beating.
I would like to see Andre challenge Sergei Kovalev, since the top light heavyweights are too chicken to face him.Posted May 1, 2014 12:32 am
Why would Dan offer fights for Ward when he is being sued? Ward should know better that he can’t get out of a contract that he signed to. It would be like Kobe Bryant has the right right to opt out of his two year-extension with the Lakers.Posted May 1, 2014 12:28 am
Who wants to fight Andre were you will beat in a boring fight. What did it do for Froch ? Abraham ? Dawson ? Fighters should avoid Andre like a plaque. Andre does nothing for your career.Posted April 30, 2014 11:22 pm
