Tark, to better understand it they are

F

Reglar slugger, slugger/ boxer or hybrid , Counter puncher boxer, reglar boxer, and slick boxer

Reglar slugger shine inside exchange and want to ko you inside ( flat foot) example.

The slugger/boxer can do both, box from the outside( that good foot work) and slugg inside. Get ko inside and outside

The counter punches does best Counter punching outside as he a boxer and not flat foot for movements, he could get ko but useally win on points from the outside.

A slick boxer is a counter puncher and boxer with extra good movement he can also exchange but preferred to not get hit. I would say Floyd was a slugger/ boxer in his early early year of ko records but change to a slick boxer as he got older. That not exchanging anymore, but win on points.

All in all its just a general, as everybody see it differently.

Tark, IAm only count 147,

TARK

@ Mike Tyson, you’re writing a bunch of foolishness… Makes no sense. Boxing is not losing out to brawlers.

Wladimir Klitschko is the best boxing heavyweight and isn’t going anywhere. “He the champ now”a slugger/ boxer he can do both ,what ever needed to win that a slugger/ boxer.

Thabiso Mchunu is a cruiserweight who can outbox anybody. “Don’t know him”

Kovalev is a light heavyweight who can box and punch. He’s a damned good boxer.” if he can box he a slugger/ boxer

Ward rules 168… Damned good boxer. “A Slugger/ boxer ”

Martinez and Golovkin both have surpassing boxing skills at 160. “Both are slugger / boxer”

Lara and Canelo are both boxers… They’re tops at 154. “Lara is a slugger boxer. canelo can’t fight on the inside. He dont impress inside so he a boxer that punch hard ( he ko they from the outside then move in) he need room to set his punches up.”

Floyd rules 147… But Porter and Thurman live and breathe BOXING!!! “Floyd a boxer a slick boxer
porter and Thurman are slugger/ boxer they can do both”
Garcia rules 140… He believes in boxing not brawling. “Garcia is a slugger/boxer ”

Mikey Garcia rules 130… Nobody’s a better boxer.” Don’t know him”

Lomachenko should rule featherweight soon.. Damned good boxer.” dont know him”

Rigondeaux and Frampton should soon rule 122. “Never seen his fight simple if he can get a koinside.and he can box out side too he a slugger/ boxer. And boxer is he get his ko only from the out side after a few punches, and he don’t like exchanges.

In short…Boxing is where it’s at—Brawlers take a back seat. ” Don’t think so but your are free to think other wise,”

Forgot Terrance Crawford at 135. He’s a boxer.

boxing fighters  are being rearrange in ranking , the boxers are slowly lose the war to the slugger/ boxer the hybrids.

First was khan a boxer taken out by Garcia a slugger/ boxer.

Next alexander A boxer, yes did totally beat maidana to a U.D decision. But Porter a slugger/boxer push him out easily by slugging him out as did Bradley. A slugger/ boxer as is PAC. Two of the best slugger/ boxer around.

the next boxer to go was broner, who maidan a true slugger vs canelo (a boxer w/a-good punch) beat the heck out of him

Next came paulie a true boxer, porter a slugger/ boxer nultralize paulie boxing skill, and slugg paulie and ran him over.

Next comes thurman another slugger/ boxer up against Dias a experienced counter puncher boxer.
Thurman’s get a tko, on a rib damage,

Verdict? 5 boxer have bitten the dust. As I said slugger/boxer will rule, not slugger. unless your a slick boxer but still have to be proven.

Next up: Floyd vs maidana a b- rated slugger ( experienced and getting better, a true inside fighter/ multi unexpected timed cross lobbing over the top)

Axexander, khan, both  beat maidana on a UD decision, but Bradley, porter, slugger / boxer beat alexander the boxer up
So Floyd need a shut out, or a stoppage.  As he represent or is the last few good boxers left standing now. See, its best to be humbled Floyd,

Exciting fight as nearly every one of Matthysse’s bouts are. Molina showed balls of steel, a better test than we expected. Props to both of these warriors.

Posted April 27, 2014 3:34 pm

Gus

Asking the fighter if he wants to continue is stupid – the fighter has too much pride to say he wants to quit. the decision to stop the fight is determined by the Ref. if the Ref is too dumb to call a halt then the corner ,if they have any sense to jump into the ring and tell the Ref do you want to see this kid get killed. What the hell were you waiting for.

Techniques

Thurman has very good speed and good power, but his defense looks vulnerable, he should fight a credible opponent now. As for matthysee I was disappointed on how easily he got knocked down, but he came back and really messed molina up. A garcia rematch would be great

@Gus; I think he cares for his fighters; and I think a lot of times he is asking his fighter whether they are ok or not. Molina I’m sure told him he wanted to continue and that’s the reason why Joe acted like that towards the doctor because he was afraid he would stop it right there in the corner.

Thurman vs Porter next.

Goosen Brothers USE their fighters like expendable meat. If Goosen had an ounce of compassion he would not have allowed Molina to come out for the 11th round to get KO’d. He tried to keep the doctor from allowing the doctor to see if Molina was concussed after the 10th round.

Thurman has great skill, a solid chin, wicked power and a bird’s eye view of the oppositonal landscape. Diaz has broken bones, will be peeing blood for days and may not fight again for a year. Keith can go after Kell Brook in England, or Kirkland in Austin Texas so sell out and make nice coins. Let the stew simmer for Pac or Floyd.

Molina had him until he let him get him on the ropes and started exchanging punches close. He should have stayed on the outside used his reach and jab and out boxed Mattyess. Maybe Molina ran of of gas. It takes alot of energy to throw power shots all night..

Thurman is ready to be tested Porter would be a good fight. Or the winner of Kahn fight. Everyone wants Floyd but he is not ready MW would whop him up nice. Broner if he stays at welter would be another good match for the youngster..

Posted April 27, 2014 2:21 am

Hecdog

What!?! my friend, I was all wrong about Broner. I really thought he had talent, and he beat a few good guys, but i did not expect to see Broner freeze up like he did against Maidana. That loss spoke so much about his true character, and his inability to not make any adjustments whatsoever. I think he will have a very difficult time getting past any of the top guys. As far as Thurman is concerned, I just don’t see anything that stands out. yes, he has some power, but he has fought no one. Diaz is a light weight that came up to welterweight, and has some experience, but his best days were at the lower weight class. He doesn’t carry enough power in the welterweight division. Until Thurman fights a top guy or another champion, he is still very suspect to me. Soto Karass had him all but out. After looking at his record, he has a long way to go regardless of his unbeaten record. It’s more about who he fought rather than having an unbeaten record. I think a lot of guys beat him. He needs to be tested IMO. Everyone looks good against guys that don’t offer a whole lot. Bradley, Pacquiao, Porter, Maidana, Brook or even Guerrero or Berto would answer more questions about Thurman.

Posted April 27, 2014 1:57 am

Matthysse Vs. Molina will probably be fight of the year. It was a real war, awesome!!!

Posted April 27, 2014 1:21 am

WHAT!?!

Hecdog – You’re not convinced with Thurman but you thought Broner was the next big thing? Your opinion is your opinion and everyone can have one, but your logic seems all over the place sometimes. However can’t deny your loyalty to those fighters you support. I thought Thurman looked good, unfortunately it seemed the fight had just started to heat up at the end of the 3rd when Diaz pulled out.

Posted April 27, 2014 1:08 am

Hecdog

Not sold on Thurman at all. He thinks he’s better than he is, but once he fights a top guy, you’ll see what level of fighter he really is. Anyone that has a good jab and backs him up will beat him. Bradley, Manny Pacquiao, Maidana, Mayweather Guerrero and Porter will beat him.

i was just interested in the mathyse molina fight here

Posted April 27, 2014 12:57 am

Big Ham

GBP and Bob Arum should have a bi-yearly “superfight” where they match their best fighters against one another. A triple header. Two things have to happen for the big fights to happen. I believe it has nothing to do with HBO and Showtime. Bob Arum eventually, rest his soul will pass on. I think Todd Duboef who will take over, will usher in a new era. GBP needs to have more authority from ODLH himself. Oscar wants to make the big fights. Schaeffer does not. Schaeffer and Arum are money guys that see things short term.

Posted April 27, 2014 12:53 am

Big Ham

Good fights. John Molina gave more than i expected. epic toughness on his part. I would like to see him fight Broner, that is a logical fight as Broner seems to be “rebuilding” at 140lbs. Mathysse showed tremendous endurance and late rounds power. He did also show that he is a slow starter and that he is at his best when he is coming forward, not when he is boxing from a tense standoff. As soon as it stops becoming a boxing match and starts becoming a fight, it becomes advantageous to Mathysse. My dream fight would be Lucas Mathysse vs Ruslan Provodnikov. I can not think of a better action style matchup.

Posted April 27, 2014 12:49 am

Love-the-Sport

Lucas Matthysse was great in a great performance against a very tough John Molina.

– Problem is that I don’t think there is anybody left to fight in the Golden Boy – Al Heyman stable.

– Amir Khan vs. Lucas Matthysse would be great but Khan is moving up to 147 and as great as Matthysse has been I don’t think he is a 147 pound fighter.

Otherwise, I think Figueroa is way over-rated and really did not win this fight tonight.

Hard to know what to make of Thuman vs. Diaz. But the Matthysse vs. Molina fight made the night worth it.

Geez I have it a draw 114-114. That was a crazy paced fight. It got real slow at the end. Not the Figueroa I remember that is usually all go from start to finish. interesting decision coming up.

Man, this is a good fight. Props to both. Rounds are close. The decision will bring some mixed opinions, whichever the way it goes. It’s already worth watching them go at it once again. Although Belmontes has been impressive I got the feeling that Figueroa will get the a rather unpopular nod.

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Fig 6-5 Bel – Hard to score these rounds. Bel comes out and wins the first minute. Then as he slows down Fig catches up to him and out works him and usually ends the rounds better.

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Fig 5-5 Bel – fight got going again. Bel landed the more ey catching shots and Fig got the better of the inside exchanges. Edge it to Bel.

The commentators are out of their minds to have Belmontes up by 2-3 rds

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Fig 5-4 Bel – Not much action now. Bel won that on sharper counters. Fig is frustrated that Bel won’t go toe-to-toe and Fig isn’t good enough to cut the ring off as Bel moves nicely.

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Fig 5-3 Bel – Very slow round drawing boos from the crowd. Fig takes it as Bel almost came to a stop, regarding throwing punches.

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Fig 4-3 Bel – Belmontes on the outside boxing and moving won the round easily. If he can t realise that this is the winning game plan then he deserves to lose. Bel can easily outbox Fig.

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Fig 4-2 Bel – Just leaning towards Fig in that close round. Fig finished it off a bit better but it was close all the way through. This is accuracy versus work rate.

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Fig 3-2 Bel – I like Bel accuracy. When he throws he usually connects. But I can’t score the round for him when for each of his shots he is taking 5 from Figueroa even though Fig doesn’t look as polished his work rate is winning this.

Bel isn’t working enough, he’s the better boxer, he just ain’t punching enough.

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Fig 2-2 Bel – Went back to the outside game for Bel but he didn’t do much with it. Lost his jab and was throwing 1 punch at a time. Figueroa wins that one on workrate.

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Fig 1-2 Bel – Figueroa has woken up. It’s now a fight in a phonebox. Fig has a huge stamina advantage and landed much more in that round. Bel has landed some good body shots throughout. This could be a case of who can take more punishment and who can sustain their attacks longer.

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Fig 0-2 Bel – All action round. A lot of punches thrown. Belmontes got the better of it right at the bell to knick the round. Fig looks slower and isn’t punching hard which is a worry. Bel looks confident.

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Fig 0-1 Bel – Belmontes looked sharp, faster and threw nice combos including body punches. Figueroa is comfortable enough looking to warm up into it.

Figueroa, Matthysse, Thurman for the ‘W’.

This is how ANY hard hitting fighter beats Fraud Duckweather.

As soon as the first bell goes, run at him at full speed, trap him on the ropes and beat him down. If he tries to tie Maidana up by clinching like a sissy, once the ref breaks both fighters apart, Maidana should run at him again, and batter him down again! And keep doing it.

If Maidana tries to box Duckweather he will lose convincingly, he stands no chance at all that way.

The last thing Floyd wants is Maidana up close battering him, Duckweather likes space and time to use his skills.

To stop Duckweather doing that, run at him and smash the living crap out of his head, he WILL go down, and when he gets up, run at him and batter him down again.

Maidana wins by KO … EASY!
