De Marco has a lot of heart , hits hard but is easy to hit. Broner is slick, fast and has good defense. If DeMarco can take his punch and get into the late rounds we will learn more about Broners chin and heart. Broner by KO

all time great? is it just me or are some people goin waaaaay overboard on this kid already? better then floyd? just 2 funny. the fact is broner is a good boxer with slick movement and filthy speed aswell as some pop. with that being said (oh i can just hear people gonna say hater lol) broner should have been at lightweight 2 or 3 fights ago. Broner lost the fight to ponce imo. Demarco is a good fighter but this is a divison that could have a few real tests. soto and marquez would definitly make for great fights, even the ghost. imo, there are several fighters that would beat broner. robert and juan for sure would beat him at lightweight. gamboa at a lesser weight would probly feed him, and we won’t even go to the jr welter where there are several more that would beat him. all within catch weight fights for broner. he is still developing and has a very high ceiling but c’mon man. broner isn’t floyd on floyds worst day.

Broner is a good fighter. Sharp and fast, but does he have a chin?. We will see.

yeah when he runs into the Rickster.

Posted October 9, 2012 1:16 pm

hype buster

He will not last very long. As soon as he gets past B level — he will be a gate-keeper.

I dont understand Broner. Why does he continue to comb his hair when it’s short ????

I usually don’t wish fighters from Mexico beat an American fighter, but I will make an exception here. Many of course, including myself felt that Broner did lose to a Mexican figher, Daniel Ponce De Leon, but some judges thought otherwise, or just decided to go with the program. If Broner does however win, all the best for him.

Broner’s the flash type of fighter that is always going to get exposure. True, he has yet to prove himself but that’s not to say he won’t. I do feel however, Ricky Burns would have a good chance of beating him. Ricky’s record has been built the old fashioned way and he has learned from the losses he had early in his career. I just think at this stage he would be too strong and mentally tough for Broner.

There’s this fighter name Cesar Cuenca who is 43-0 and only 1 KO lol wtf

i think there are a few guys out there right now that could beat Floyd. the question is would they have beaten Floyd when Floyd was still in his prime? i believe the answer is no! with the exception of Paquiao.

“Where you staying FA? Hopefully not in some danegrous Yuppie bar…” – Hey Kid. I’m at the Westin down at the Seaport but spending time downtown as well. I’ll be back in my SF digs Tuesday and so unfortunately won’t see you. BTW I will probably still be banned when I get back. Only reason I can post here is I’m away from SF on a different IP address. They canned me, apparently for criticizing the stories here. LAME.

Man, I keep telling everyone that broner will be an ATG. He has all the tools, and he’s a thinker. Speed kills, and he’s got plenty, but he also has power, and of course great defense. DeMarco is going to take a beating, and will be stopped. mark my words, Broner will show all the naysayers that he’s for real. And I don’t even like this egotistical kid, but he has it all. I will also go on record and say that he is better than Floyd Mayweather. He has much more power and if they were ever to fight (highly doubt it), Broner would beat Floyd. This kid is going to shock people like Ali did in his young days.

T-Bag

good article. broners the real deal, he’ll never be mayweathers level but he could have a Cotto’esque career by the time alls said and done. He’s only 22 and if he beats Demarco he’ll already be a 2 weight champ and have some impressive wins especially the one vs Demarco. Takes balls to jump up a division and fight the best guy in the division in his first fight there which is what Broner is doing in this next fight vs Demarco. Imagine he beats this improved version of demarco easier than Valero did? now that would be a statement that would give him a right to claim future of the sport.

Uh-huh. I really hope this guy lives up to the hype. He’s pretty much been tested by some not-so-elite competition before.

Paul Strauss needs to stop electronically lynching Adrien Broner supposedly because of his childish theatrics.Strauss is overreacting and holding up Broner as a villain and the root of of all evil in boxing just because of a little thing like childish theatrics.I`m not buying it . Could it be Strauss is hating on Broner because of his darkskin ? Afterall, Arnold Schartzenegger use to engage in childish theatrics when he was a young man. Arnold once said that he admired Adolf Hitler. But the media forgave him and didn`t electronically lynch him and Arnold went on to become a huge movie star and the governor of California and older, wiser and regretful that he ever made such a statement.

Good article.

Broner, like Mayweather roll their left shoulder towards the chin to protect the chin. When the opponent throws a punch and aims for the chin they hit the shoulder. Why aren’t they instructed to aim for the temple which is not protected?

Ring magazine is totally conflicted and lacks any semblance of credibility.

Fight Aficionado in Boston, preety harsh but I get your point. Broner is all about the new Business Model in Boxing which I shall soon be writing about,

The only reason Broner is a star already is because Al Hymen got him HBO exposure early in his career. HBO wants to build stars and has no problem doing so by letting them cherrypick weak comp to do so. Broner is today’s Andre Berto, another Hymen fighter who was brought along with weak comp right up until he lost a fight he was supposed to win in Ortiz. Now he’s a busto juicehead.

Broner has talent to burn & seems to improve every time out. However Broner hasn’t fought anybody yet. That & the fact he gets so much ink=overrated. The same thing was going on with Khan just a few years ago. Though Khan was an Olympic medalist & Broner isn’t. Also Khan was visible rocked in fights before Prescott. As the author states overexposure is nothing new for a talented American fighter. Certain guys get advantages because of what promoters see as fan appeal. No problem with that. I do have a problem with these same fighters getting wins they don’t deserve. Broner has 2 of them both against pressure fighters(one was a slow southpaw). Demarco is a step up for Broner but this is very winable fight. If Broner blows out a reigning champ then the hype machine can continue. Yet another dubious decision gives us no new answers about the problem.

Posted October 8, 2012 1:51 pm

already know

Broner has not fought anyone and you say hes gonna be a star .on what basis?
Floyd mayweather impersonations? Cause he does a floyd turtle defense and scrunches up his face like floyds?
That’s all hes got .acting like another man who is a cherrypicker.
martinez gonna make floyd quit

Broner truly has great skills, but he lacks respect for his profession, fails to make weight, and continues to make an ass out of himself and his girlfriend in plain sight. He is in dire need of a savvy PR consultant–and not the one Timothy Bradley uses. I hereby offer my services at a fair fee. :)
