Why? Diaz is totally shopworn and Thurman is already well above this level of comp. Even Matthysse’s opponent Molina on the undercard is way better than Diaz at this point.

Thurman is going on 23-0. The powerhouse fighters star is on the rise.(No matter how long it takes!) Undoubtedly, he has the power, stamina and charisma to endure whats in store for him. There will be that one headliner fight that will put him into superstar status.

whats wrong with hecdog?if this isnt the most biase post ive heard in awhile.first, he hasnt carried the sport by himself…look at him and mayweathers ppv sales, that says it all.like mayweather or not manny does have an equal, and i say that because although i feel mayweather did duck paqiou which of course is my opinion we dont know who actually wouldve won.fighting de la hoya and cotto at 145?and for the welterweight title?fighting margarito at 150 for the jr middleweight strap?and probably more importanly not willing to take a drug test?come on hecdogg, theres question marks and astericks all over his record, that sir are pure facts.

Manny Pacquiao has carried the sport of boxing for more than a decade. Excitement, drama, historic fights have all become a part of the fighter most observers believe is the greatest fighter of all time. As we near the most anticipated fight in boxing history, the buzz has become louder and louder throughout the world. The gyms, restaurants, local businesses, all the media outlets including TV stations, Radio, and all the social networks have blown up. Earlier today, Boxing Legends Julio Cesar Chavez and Marco Antonio Barrera came by to cast their praise on Manny Pacquiao. What an unbelievable scene to see a three of the best ever meet inside the famous Wild card gym. Legends like these two only added to other legends visits since Manny Pacquiao arrived for his training camp in Los Angeles. The city of angles is beside itself as the world wants to see Manny Pacquiao. I took a break earlier in the day to do some jogging and set up a similar route to Manny’s route . I took my 3 dogs along with me, who by the way are named Pacman. We had a great jog. I returned home and put on my Manny Pacquiao six pack video and worked on my abs. I luckily caught a short clip of Manny doing some sparring followed by an interview. Manny is spitting fire, and trust me, there will be brutality and carnage on April 12. The man is in high gear, and his punches are coming faster than the human eye can see. I really do hope all boxing fans are tuning in to see this legend in action. He is a legitimate master piece that will not be around forever. When Manny Paacquiao retires, it will be like seeing Babe Ruth retire or more importantly like seeing a ROCKY movie without Sylvester Stallone. Life will not be the same, and Boxing will never recover. This fight against Timothy Bradley will be epic. Bradley has said things that have motivated Manny Pacquiao like never before. There’s something inside of Manny that no one can really see, but I can see it. There is as ROCKY said to PAULIE in the ROCKY BALBOA ” There’s still some stuff in the basement.” Manny Pacquiao is going to be dangerous. I can see Manny Pacquiao walking out with his smile, smiling and looking out at the crowd. He climbs the short stairs and weaves under the ropes and steps inside the ring to a thunderous applause. Car and earthquake alarms are set off. Manny’s standing ovation continues for 15 minutes. Timothy Bradley enters and no one sees him. Police try escorting him out, but realize he’s Manny’s opponent. Myself and the rest of the Manny Pacquiao fans have brought Manny Mania alive. My tickets have arrived, and my victory party is set to start three days out from the fight. Fasten your seat belts people, The champ is here. Manny is the best!

Enough of these B level fighters, he’s earned a fight with Danny Garcia, Kell Brook, or Sean Porter. Hell the way Broner runs his mouth he should have called out Thurman.

Diaz is shot. Have fun Thurman. You will prove you can beat a shot fighter. I am sure you career will take off after that.

This fight will be over before 5 rounds is complete. Thurman is gonna KO Diaz. Maybe even quicker.

Dias stand a good chance he carefully not to get ko, as he a great counter punches, that is why he gave paulie porter a hard fight, he like a Marquez to slugger and he also has ko power.
This will be a good fight, I said Dias is unrated, he fast busy dont tired , and dangerious watch he might win on points. Thurman only look good on one fight. A ko punch will do that.

Get Real

Diaz gave Porter his toughest two fights. Thurman is not over rated. He was a five time national amatuer champ, has an excellent, very experienced trainer in Dan Birmingham and was sparring with top guys like Winky Wright, Jeff Lacy, and Chad Dawson when he was fifteen and holding his own. The reason One Time is fighting Julio Diaz is because Diaz is the only one with the balls to fight him. The editor of this article must work for Bob Arum.

all the insults only hide the truth, were all very passionate about boxing and in some cases like these some to the extreme.the root cause of all harsh critique is that we discuss the sport and get rowded up when we talk about something we love so much.i to have gone in on some folks after a few cold ones and a hot topic.

from what i was hearing fighters was turning keith thurman down or over pricing themselfs to fight him idk if it true or not that what i heard nobody seem to want to step up and fight him i guess julio diaz was the only one who step up but i rather for thurman to fight sombody else then julio diaz tho i pick brad soliman over juilo diaz to fight keith atleast brad is young and underfeated and a good boxer in his prime or roberto garcia sombody other then juilo

Thurman is not overrated and Karass did not have Thurman all but out. He got caught with a good punch, that was it. He didn’t look wobbled, Karass attacked and Thurman had some pretty good defense and tied up like you are supposed to do. Thurman in no way is overrated.

Oh man come on! Keith is a top 10 Welter matched with a guy barely in the top 40? Diaz is a pure Lightweight who has been plumped, pumped and overinflated and has won a whole 2 of his last five fights. Julio is going on 35 years old man I mean come on – why feed Thurman this fight? Diaz should be not be televised at all unless he’s fighting guys like Karim Mayfield (someone in his age group, lane etc.) This match-up deserves public outcry …..Thurman needs guys like Kell Brook and not Julio Diaz!!!! If Keith has any control over his future he says no to this and asks for a better, career enhancing, youthful winner to go to combat with. This match smells like a hamster and no amount of cedar chips in the cage is going to spark sizzle. Thurman vs. James Kirkland at a catch-weight of whatever would light up the boxing hearts around the globe … people would drive safer and eat better just to make sure they’re around to see that fight but instead we get Diaz? Oh man – This is like a hammer to the fans’ thumbs. Yucko Pooie!!!

I agree, I think Thurman is very overrated.

Posted March 25, 2014 2:33 pm

I don’t know exactly why Thurman is though of as some kind of special fighter. He’s a decent fighter, but his chin is very questionable and he hasn’t really beat anyone. Soto Karass had him all but out. His resume shows me nothing. He can punch a little, but he gets beaten by all the top guys. Mayweather, Bradley, Pacquiao, Porter, even Devon Alexander I think beats him. Where did this hype come from. And now fighting a beefed up light weight in Julio Diaz proves nothing. Thurman has started to run his mouth too much. I liked him when he was humble. I don’t think he’ll go to far.

Posted March 25, 2014 2:28 pm

PEEJ

This is a terrible match up. I understand giving an easy fight but this will not help his development. He needs to keep doing what he was doing. This is a backwards step and it will end quickly.
