You Gotta Earn It Boy

I really love how Golden Boy are trying to feed Khan to Broner. They know Khan is finished. Feeding Khan to Broner is perfect for Broner and the fans. Nobody likes arrogant Khan, nobody likes Broner either but we’d all love to see him spank clown Khan into retirement. This will happen, Broner will resume his winning streak by stopping glass jaw Khan inside seven rounds. If featherweights can knock Khan over, even Broner at 147lbs can do it.

8675309 what is that your prison number? Floyd has to prove what he is 45-0 retard I guess all 45 where cherry picked? He just beat a gut that everyone is avoiding and was undefeated Canelo. You obviously know nothing or a Manny nutthugger

Showtime’s Steve Farhood asked Mayweather (45-0, 26 KO) why he chose Maidana (35-3, 31 KO), and Floyd made it clear: he simply felt Maidana was the better and more deserving fighter at this time.

“Maidana has a lot of great wins lately, whereas Amir Khan is 2-2 in his last four fights. That’s all there is to it,” he said, adding, “I chose the better man.”

Maidana is a massive underdog, as expected, but Floyd is doing his best to sell the Argentine brawler as a a major threat.

“This is a very difficult fight for me. This is a guy I can’t overlook,” said Mayweather. “Each and every time Marcos Maidana goes out there he gives it his best. I know I have to go out there and be at my best.

“I will sit down with my father and go over a brilliant game plan and hopefully this training camp goes well. He’s tough. He’s a champion just like I’m a champion, so when you bring the two together you get nothing but excitement. I must push myself to the limit, and May 3, The Money Team will be ready

Too bad you Manny ass lickers don’t have any facts to back up your claims. Fact Floyd is the highest paid boxer to date. Between his fight with Oscar and Canelo was the biggest fights ever. Manny owes the IRS 68 million is a fact. All you Biiootches do is cry and moan about how great Manny is when the ass clown fights the same fighters over and over again, Bradley II and Marquez 5 who will pay to see that BS. He needs to grown some balls leave Arum when he could have the biggest pay day of his life but it will never happen and you Poor pactards will still be crying and Floyd will still be rich and on top

Floyd Mayweather will eventually end up broke. The man has no investments or income outside of boxing. One day he’s going to retire, but continue his weekly excursions to the casinos, and it’s all going to dwindle away. He fights, gets a pay check, spends. Fights, get a pay check and spends. And those expenses he thrives on are slowly going to take his last penny if he doesn’t find someone to help invest his money. Remember, this guy has no education. He’s not very smart on his own. He needs people to manage his money for him or he’ll be lost. Once he retires, you’ll see how many people come to help him out. They will all run away and continue their own lives with the money they made off of Floyd. No sponsors want anything to do with him. He only knows how to fight, and once that ends, he’ll continue to live that lavish life style. He’s ruined his own reputation with his extensive criminal record. There are no sponsors or endorsements after him. He is a horrible role model to anyone but himself. We’ve all seen who he really is. He has showed us through the 24/7 shows, sucker punching people, threatening security guards and his kids. He’s a mess. I don’t wish the man any harm or bad fortune, but one day soon, boxing for him will be no more so I hope someone helps out “Money” because one day he may not have any.

Havoc you a ass clown. Floyd signed with CBS/Showtime for 250 million he made another 150 million last year. GB gets there cut but he is the highest paid boxer in the game. Manny on the other hand is in debt he already said he has to fight ten more times to get out of trouble. Floyd is his own boss GB writes the contract but he dictates all terms. Manny does as he is told big difference now he is begging but like I said before they had they shot in 09. Arum blew it he thought Manny was special but who needs who?

Arum is a greedy Jew pimp he is still sore Floyd ditched him you can tell the way he speaks about him in the media. Its not personal its smart business. Some people have a slave mentality like its wring for a Black man to be his own boss. Espn analyst said the other day Floyd has too much power, hell but its ok for whites and Jews to have it? Whites boys cant stand it. lol I say to hell with Manny as long as Arum in involved why bow down to him after all Floyd is the one who don’t need the fight because he made 150 million last year alone between Guerrero and Canelo. And will do the same if not more this year guys are lining up to fight him. What does Manny have besides wanting a hand out?

Posted March 2, 2014 5:47 pm

Hec dog Manny was the best of roids. He hasn’t beat anyone worth talking about since Cotto in 09. Everyone else was weight drained or lightweight punching bags like Rios. Manny has been on the juice he avoided random blood test time and time again, Not ot mention he got KTFO by Marquez. And Bradley he never dominated you boy is washed up. What was the last undefeated fighter Manny beat? Ancient history that when. Now he has Bradley then Marquez 5 they want no parts of Floyd Manny is Arums puppet

Posted March 2, 2014 5:39 pm

Hec Dog

Maidana has no chance period! The man that would have annihilated Floyd Mayweather 5 years ago and will destroy him today is Manny Pacquiao. Manny has the style, technique, athleticism to not only beat him, but stop him. We’ve seen an aging Shane Mosely alost knock Floyd out cold. Zab Judah was giving him problems and beating him. Oscar IMO beat him, but lost a split decision. Demarcus Chop Chop Corley had him frustrated and dropped him. Those guys had no chance to beat manny Pacquiao as Manny clearly destroyed Oscar. Manny Pacquiao is faster than Floyd, hits with much more power and can match Floyd’s movement. Ask Lydell Rhodes, Floyd Senior’s protege. Rhodes honestly stated recently after sparring 4rounds with the Filipino legend that he couldn’t see Manny’s punches coming. Rhodes said that he felt Manny’s power. This from a guy that sparred Floyd. Rhodes was in awe. I understand why Floyd wants no part of Manny. The southpaw power house that is Manny Pacquiao has all the attributes to beat Floyd in all areas. Floyd is a counter puncher that needs to be able to read his opponents timing. He waits, sees and counters. Manny uses unimaginable, unpredictable feints that have his opponents guessing. The shoulder roll will NOT work against a southpaw that has more speed than Floyd. Floyd can’t run away because Manny can match his movement. Floyd can’t stand toe to toe because we all know what would happen. Once Floyd’s speed advantage is nullified, the end is near. Floyd has no heart to fight as seen in the Cotto fight where he tried to fight, received a bloodied nose and swollen face, and decided never to try and out gut a fighter again. Manny Pacquio’s style is complex. No one beats him on a one fight basis, no one. Manny also has a beautiful supporting wife tht gives him much strength. Their situation is like Rocky II when Rocky is in the hospital with Adrian after she awakes. They have a short conversation, and she tells Rocky that he looks tired. Rocky starts talking about not maybe doing something else. Adrian tells Rocky to come here, closer to her. She says “There’ one thing I want you to do for me, Rocky “What”. Adrian responds “win.Win” and the rest is history. I get somewhat emotional as watch that scene and relate it to Manny and Jinkee. Manny is the real life Rocky 100 times over. His resume dwarfs any other fighter including Floyd Mayweather. The truth of the matter is that Manny Pacquiao is the better fighter and the better man. Come April 12, Manny Pacquiao takes over the boxing world as King of the Ring, The Peoples Champion, and The Greatest fighting Machine of all time. Trust me, Floyd will never beat Manny Pacquiao. Manny is the best!

Floyd’s career took off because he took control. He not only became more popular but he started to collect the money he was generating instead of it going through Arum’s filter first.

Pac deserves better. He should be getting paid a lot more than what he is getting paid.

That’s what Floyd’s point to Manny and the Media was: Pac is getting ripped off by Arum.

You sound like Dana White who loves to say his fighters are making so much money because he is responsible for giving them the opportunity to fight in the UFC which allows fighters to make most of their money from sponsors.

You don’t see the NBA saying that about Lebron with how much he makes. NO. They just show what he is being paid by the Miami Heat. No sponsorship pay is included. YOU EARNED that Pay as well as as those Sponsorships.

Arum didn’t make Oscar, Floyd, or Pac. If anything, at the most, it was mutual. But without the Fighter, the Promoter isn’t anything.

If Arum was that great, how come he doesn’t have all his fighters making the income of those three?
And how come Floyd makes more away from Arum than with him?

Like I said, it’s easy to sell a Ferrari because it sells itself. Arum didn’t build those Ferrari’s.

Havoc,

Floyd wouldn’t have made the 80+ million in his last fight with Arum because Arum would have taken a huge chunk and left Floyd out of the foreign pay, as well as any source of profit that is made from anything to do with the fight. That was the most surprising thing I found out when I read that last year with what Promoters are doing.

Floyd put himself in position to take what the promoters have been taking from the fighters. He will take in the domestic as well as the foreign profit sharing.
So you have the gate receipts, PPV buys, and anything and all profits to be made from the fight go right back to Floyd.

I really think Floyd can’t have his way with Pacman because he can’t bully Top Rank. The company that made Floyd!

Floyd needs to drop GBP and deal with Arum about the mega fight with Pacman. It’s better that way instead of Pacman dropping arum and Floyd asking GBP for financial help of making the fight.

Posted March 2, 2014 12:13 am

Self Promoter

This is what I really wished happened:

Floyd demands Pac to take additional testing with him. Pac agrees. After all, a clean fighter will pass the tests and show that he is clean. In this case, he can laugh at Floyd’s fear and show him he is clean.

Floyd refuses to work with Arum. Pac leaves Arum and tells Floyd the fight can now happen “IF” they both work together on the promotion and spit the share since Bobby is out of the picture. If Floyd refuses, then $#$# him.

Essentially, Floyd may think he is getting what he wants but he can only get what he wants If Pac is allowing himself to get emotionally involved with it all.

If Pac happily accepts testing and says this is a great idea, it takes the bullets out of Floyd’s gun. Leaving Arum, great idea. Let’s get a bigger share and share it.

When floyd is intimidated by a fghter, her runs from them for years (DLH, Mosley, Cotto). Fights them when they are pasf their prime and then talks trash about them in the build up to the fight. It is a defense mechanism to get himself pumped up; however, when floyd knowshe is fighting a hyped up bum (canelo, zab judah, baldomir, marcos maidana) he shows them “respect”. It is actually an attempt to get the suckers out there to think that The bum he is fighting is actually dangerous and thus get them to buy the fight. The pattern is there people just keep falling for it. You know who else floyd has talked trash about more than all other fighters he has faced combined?….yup! Manny Pacquiao. You even have Stephen A Smith and Michael Wilburn (or whatever his name is) from ESPN calling him a coward publically. You know which network floyd hasn’t done an interview with since? Correct again…ESPN.

Floyd is a nice guy, he came far from the days when he was seeing crying on the camera and saying I dont get big advertisement deals like Oscar does because I am black ……bla bla….
He wants more fans to join his camp and there is nothing wrong with that it was happening just like that but then MP came on the boxing scene and it took away a great amount of lime light from FM because of MP’s fighting style and then MP gets the award for fighter of the decade or else it would have gone to FM.
Ppl enjoy action packed fights and so MP becaome a great ppv star and on top of that MP does not come from a boxing fam and it’s not FM’s fault but a true boxing fan must acknowledge that MP has paved his path in boxing just on his own and it’s not FM’s fault but it has to be acknowledged.

@ PEEJ, WTF – If you dislike Floyd then say that, don’t try and make up reasons on why you dislike him.

PEEJ, most of us here are grown ups, and we do not need you to tell us how to describe your favorite fighter.

@Angel

You’re right, and in fact that’s just what I do (have only seen brief highlights of Floyd’s recent fights). Excellent advice for all, especially those who haven’t see the old classics. As for me posting about it here, as I say, it’s mainly a way of procrastinating — though I suppose I also hope to dissuade a few people against buying the PPV (a fool’s errand, no doubt).

@PEEJ

You’re right: I don’t like Floyd, and I have given you the reasons. On the charity issue, I refer you to Gonzo’s comments, which sum up the reality of the situation nicely.

@James

Well, you may be right, and I hope so! But do people really pay $70 for PPV?!! FFS!! That’s truly shocking (i.e. that they charge that much, and that people buy it).

@Hecdog

Exactly!

@Gonzo

RFLMAO!

Floyd’s done a hell of a lot more work for various other charities as well, but none of you will ever hear so much as a peep about it because he insists on it remaining a secret to all but a select few.

Last Christmas Floyd donated over 50 rotten turkeys to the homeless, which he and his team of juiced-up meat-head ex-con goon bouncers took to the streets and handed out themselves, which he bought with his own hard earned coin from a dodgy Iranian butcher, better known by the moniker of ”Reza the Thieving B@st@rd” to the good people of Michigan. The whole thing was actually caught on tape by a film crew who coincidentally just so happened to be in the area at the time doing a special on crack addiction. And the year before that Floyd ”The Black Billy Gates” donated a pair of his senile old nan’s Augusta Geraldine Ethel Nancy Juniper Mayweather III pi-ssy shi-tty bed sheets to the Detroit Institute for battered Wives, too.

While I am huge Pacquiao fan and would still love to see him against Mayweather, you gotta give Floyd his due. He is the best P4P in the world right now and he got there by being a very good and clever boxer. Does he bring that brawler style into the ring we love so well (like Ruslan Provodnikov)? No. He’s a perfectionist at avoiding get hit while racking up points and out-classing his opponents. In other words, he’s a boxer, not brawler. So, why do we watch him if his fights are not overly exciting? Simple. Too root for the underdog and to see someone take away that “0”. In the next fight, it will be Maidana we will root for (even though he may not have a chance in hell).

Floyd does a lot for charities just as long as the cameras are on. The man is an egotistical, conceded, materialistic man that has a lot of money and knows exactly how to arrange for good publicity. He continually minimizes great fighters like Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard and every other great fighter only to put himself above them all. He didn’t even know Ali’s history, but criticized him. Floyd as I’ve said before has no character, integrity or respect for others. As a person he is horrible. As a boxer he’s a good boxer, but should have fought his strongest challengers over the years. His tarnished unbeaten record means nothing as far as his legacy goes. He actually lost to Castillo and De La Hoya. When it’s all said and done. Floyd Mayweather will be looked upon as a good boxer that avoided many of his toughest challenges throughout his career, but what he will be remembered for the most is. The man that would not fight Manny Pacquiao.

Martin,

I know what you are saying and i agree that will still help it sell reasonably well by anyone else’s standards as people are pretty easy to fool but overall i dont think that many will fall for it as i also think a lot of people are also becomign fed off off paying 70 dollars for very little entertainment in his fights as it is and for the other reasons given i think it will be his worst PPV sales.

Thought Jack had a better chin than that. I’ve seen him hit way harder. Probably got caught cold. Either way that’s a major set back.

Why would Floyd want to change to Pac. Pacs move to 135 and up have been a lot of safe fights, fighting fighters at the right time.

I say just don’t watch his or any other fighter’s fights that doesn’t please you with the matchup. That’s what I do even with my favored fighter(s). If you are in the boxing mood, put on a classic fight from any time period.

“Martin

You really want to get started with this?”

Actually, no! We all know how this goes! It’s just that I wrote it (quickly), and then spent so long trying to post it that it ended up being lots of posts, rather than just one that people could just skip past.

It’s just my opinion, obviously. I should be working right now, so if people want to take issue with what I’ve said, go ahead and shoot, but I must stop procrastinating by posting on here!

Posted March 1, 2014 11:50 am

Martin

Floyd also very publicly flaunts and spends his money (on himself) while doing precious little in the way of charity.

For all these reasons, too, it’s hardly surprising that people want to see him lose. They are hoping he will learn a much-needed lesson in humility.

Martin

You really want to get started with this?

Pac and Floyd are very similar.

both picked and chose opponents carefully at certain points. Both even avoided opponents by using timing or just plan ignored them. And then you have draining fighters.

I say the supposed best two P4P in boxing was a shame.

ho hum. floyd is boring in and out of the ring. get some wins and retire floyd. go away and make room for up and comers like Lomanchenko

Posted March 1, 2014 11:36 am

Martin

Another factor, of course, is that Floyd is insufferably arrogant, smug, disgustingly wealthy, treats his fans like fools, and surrounds himself with moronic sycophants who are effectively paid to laugh at his weak jokes and boost his overinflated ego.

Posted March 1, 2014 11:32 am

Martin

From this point of view you might say that Floyd and his management team have stage-managed his career extremely well, but hardcore fans cannot forget how many times he has found BS excuses in order to duck the biggest challenges. This is frustrating and people feel they are being taken for a ride. And they are right about that — especially those who make him rich by buying his PPVs.

Such people should remember that they are effectively his employers — they pay his wages, and if they choose to do so they could force him to take fights such as that against Pacquiao by refusing to buy his PPVs.

Let’s forget all the BS and excuses: the bottom line is that if Floyd had really wanted to prove he was the best, he would have fought Pacquiao years ago, just as would have faced the likes of Mosley, Cotto, Margarito and others before that. He would also, very likely, have a loss or two on his record by now, though for all that might well still be rated the P4P no 1 or 2. That we will never know.

Posted March 1, 2014 11:29 am

Martin

The fact is that Floyd has a history of avoiding match-ups against anyone who looks like they might pose a real challenge to him (including e.g. Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Pacquiao and others when they were in their primes). It’s easy for people to say “ah, but these fighters have all been beaten since then, so obviously Floyd would have beaten them all, because he’s the best!”.

But this is fallacious reasoning: since Floyd has avoided the toughest fights, and taken so few risks, *of course* he is undefeated. These other fighters *have* taken risks, and so given the fans exciting fights, and as a consequence, inevitably, they have some defeats on their records.

Posted March 1, 2014 11:28 am

Martin

Why can’t I post?

Let me try it a paragraph or two at a time….

“Why do people always want to see some one that’s on top go down?”

People want to see Floyd take on the toughest challenges in his weight classes in order to truly earn his P4P status as the greatest boxer on the planet. It frustrates the hell out of people that he continues to avoid doing that while earning truly outrageous amounts of money.

Correct Floyd is successful cherry picker that’s the way it is. He is smart no doubt about it Floyd is Floyd no one can change Floyd to Pacquiao.

Posted March 1, 2014 10:57 am

Why do people always want to see some one that’s on top go down? No matter who they are or what they Do. Floyd come a long way and was very successful. Some fighters come a long way and come out ok and some didn’t make it. I guess the ones that didn’t make it did no cherry picking. The ones that did ok did some cherry picking. Lol! And Floyd did nothing but cherry picking. You guys give no credit for the fighters that he have faced. The only fighter you all give credit to is the fighter that you all feel beat him.(Castillo). Lonnnggg time ago. Lol! When Floyd was with top rank bob Arum, did Bobby cherry pick floyds opponents?

First of all Floyd Mayweather Jr is not a 10-time wold champion (9 highest), and all those belts made with the science of cherry picking all the time and never fight the opponents who would be a thret.

Second, Floyd Mayweather’s Promotion company will screw the young fighters of there money as Floyd Mayweather jr is so greedy. Also, they will have big time trouble giving there fighters great fights as there is a chanse they will have a stupid policy to never fight a boxer from Top rank, Don King Promotions or Golden Boy Promitions, so yeah, great fight matching left. I feel sorry for these fighters to have signed with this lkittle company.

I would rather sight with 50 cent’s SMS Team Promotion as they are on the same level but at least don’t have a leader in act who have stupied policy’s that prevents there fighters from achiving sucsess.

Floyd is the best-best at being elusive in the ring and avoiding gettng hit. Maidana is going to get frustrated because as much as he wants to beat Floyds ass, he wont be able to get him. Then Floyd will throw s few jabs pop Maidanas head back and make him look bad. I thought Canelo would drop him!

@james

Don’t underestimate the power of hype. By the time people have watched all those 24-7 episodes and heard all the rhetorical BS that will be used to make people believe this could be a really competitive and exciting fight, they will happily p iss away their hard-earned money on this, just like they always do. After all, the 24-7 programmes will be available to watch for free, and by the time people have watched all those, their appetite will be well whetted and they won’t want to deprive themselves of the Big Finale:

“Hey, you know, this could actually be a really good fight. Floyd is getting old now, and Maidana look really confident. Plus, he’s young and hungry. And remember what Maidana did to Broner? I know I should probably save my money for something more worthwhile, but hey, it’s only $50 [or whatever: I really don’t know how much PPV costs]….” This is how people will rationalise it to themselves.

By the time we’re a week or two away from the fight, more and more fans will have been suckered in, and will be thinking like this.

The bottom line is that, generally speaking, people are not very good at assessing these things for themselves, but hugely susceptible to the power of promotional hype and propaganda. They will also start to believe that Maidana has a chance (even if only “a puncher’s chance”) because they *want* to believe that.

After the inevitable happens, and they’ve just watched yet another disappointing, boring, one-sided shut-out, they will tell themselves “I’m never going to pay for another of Floyd’s fights again!”, and will even believe this …. until the hype machine starts up again, when Floyd decides to fight Khan, or someone else he knows poses no risk to his precious “0” (and thus to his planet-sized ego).

And so it goes…

Tmt fighters are bums. Floyd is boring. Nuff said

Posted March 1, 2014 9:12 am

We are just getting the same old boring stuff now from Floyd in interviews and its getting to the point where its hardly worthwhile interviewing him anymore, plus he also now seems to want to try and play the good guy which doesnt help sell fights that are going to be very hard to sell like this one is, Maidana is also reserved and doesnt speak english that well so the lead up is going to be boring and people who know boxing know the fight itself will be an awful spectacle and extremely boring so i think this is going to be Floyd’s worst ever PPV sales, Plus you also have to factor in the cost of PPV nowadays and there are 3 excellent PPV match ups coming up in the next few months that are way way better match ups than this so fans will pick and choose more and Floyd’s fight is the last on the list for me.

Posted March 1, 2014 8:52 am

Martin

“This is a very very difficult fight for me.”

Translation: “This is a very very easy fight for me, but I know everyone already thinks that, so I want them to believe that I think it’s going to be difficult, and that the fight will be competitive, so that the clueless morons will be suckered into throwing more of their hard earned money at me.”

“This is a guy I know I can’t overlook.”

Yes Floyd, sure. But Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Pacquiao and others, when they were in their prime and everyone was calling for you to fight them, *were* guys you knew you could overlook, right?

When Floyd starts coming out with things like this (rather than his usual, “this opponent just ain’t on my level, he a bum”), you know he’s worried about not PPV sales.

***DO *NOT* BUY THIS FIGHT, PEOPLE!!!***
