This is a speculative fight that Rodriguez wants and Abraham doesn’t want.. It takes 2 to fight.. It’ll never happen so no reason to pay anyone to hype it.

Of course ROdriguez wants a mone fight…..

Rodriguez is NOT too open, or telegraphing his punches from miles away… You take what your opponent gives you and his last opponent gave him opportunities to lay down a terrific beating and get a stoppage.. Rodriguez wouldn’t fight Ward or Froch that way. He’d box carefully and settle for a decision if he could get it.. Abraham gives you more opportunities to punch without anything coming back.. Edwin could be a little looser in letting his hands go—but not as loose as the other night.

what what

i do not think people realize that KP is drinking every single day still. it amazes me how people act like the guys is revamped. i know for a fact he has been drunk every day since he got out of rehab. he may be finished for good or if not trust me top rank is going to cash out on him with a ward fight. KP only wants 1 fight and that is anyone who can bring the cheddar. i heard top rank has been trying to get him to fight certain people at a certain time just to get him back in the mix but all he wants is one big pay day and he is done. KP is a loser and a waste of talent and a fighter who had it all but was to stupid to know what to do with it. great management by Mike Pavlik and Cameron Dunkin Yeaaaaa right horrible they ruined his career as much as he ruined his own.

Rodriguez was too open, and telegraphing his punches from miles away, even stepping into them. If he does that against Abraham, good night, see his knockout of Taylor.

Compare how Ward was fighting Abraham, and how he was fighting Dawson. Don’t you think if Abraham was so “easy” to beat, he would have fought cautiously like that ?

Question is if Abraham finally can get something working that remotely looks like a smart gameplan from some distance. He made stupid mistakes vs. Dirrell, was outsmarted by Froch, and was waiting too much vs. Ward. He has a habit of falling to old, wrong patterns when new things he prepared for a specific fight don’t seem to work. If Rodriguez can frustrate him and make him fight the wrong fight he might be able to beat him, but the second he starts to “punish” Abraham and slug with him he gets knocked out of the ring.

However, the fight must make financial sense to Abraham, as he is in the fall of his career. At 33, he doesn’t have much time left, so Abraham must look for big money fights. Not an up-and-comer with no HBO backing. Sauerland will milk his title with not so dangerous fighters until a real money fight can be made, or a mandatory is due.

Rodriguez has a lot of aspects to his game. He’s an aggressive boxer—what some people call “power boxing” and wants to be fan friendly—but he’s not going to let a puncher tee off on him and a game plan for AA calls for boxing and jabbing the crap out of him …. With Abraham’s history of standing there like a statue and trying to wear his opponents out by letting them bang away at his gloves and forearms, Edwin sees lunch … and you can’t blame him for that.

Edwin is a brawler, not good against Abraham.

Either Pavlik or Rodriguez would jab Abraham to death like Froch and Dirrell did. Maybe not score a shutout but they have jabs. Rodriquez would just beat AA up a lot worse than Pavlik would. Abraham might go for Pavlik because at least he’s more hittable, but I’d be amazed if he put himself in front of Rodriguez … Every fighter out there knows Abraham’s limitations by now — why do you suppose Rodriguez wants this fight so bad?

Rodriguez would outbox Abraham. Abraham would outslug Rodriguez. But, Abraham has fought some of the best super middleweights in the world. There’s nothing like that on Rodriguez’s resume’. Yet. Still, Rodriguez is destined to become a champion. Wait and see. BTW, I’m talking about being a greater champion than a “USBA” title holder.

Pavlik vs. Abraham would be a slugfest. These guys could and would hurt each other.

In Rodiquez versus Abraham an important factor is trainer Ronnie Shields’ game plan. In the (4) fights Edwin has had with Shields…he has executed different styles perfectly. I know Edwin was instructed to bring it hard in the 1st round against Escalera – and he landed 49 out of 104 power shots. Edwin is more than capable of pressuring Abraham. Make this fight happen.

I will pick the former world middleweight champion Arthur Abraham as the winner.

Rodriguez is as likely to get a shot at Abraham as Sergio Martinez is to get a shot at Pacquiao… “Arthur, how about Edwin Rodriguez?” AA, “How about Ronald Hearns? I just had a tough fight.”

Seriously, why hasn’t Pavlik/Abraham happened? Even after their losses, I know tons of people who still want this fight. Kelly should just go to Germany and aim for the KO. Abraham’s shell doesn’t hold up forever and he’ll lose enough rounds to Pavlik that way for him to Geale his way out of there with the title even if it goes to the scorecards. Rodriguez is not a slick as they make him, although I think is good. Reality is, he’d probably lose a decision to Arthur over there because he would never pressure Abraham enough to see enough rounds over 12 to win it.

i would rather pay for AA vs Kelly Pavlik i think Edwin needs some more work if he really feels like he needs to prove himself fight Sakio BIka that would give us all a better idea of where you are in the scheme of things if you can keep Bika off you and out slug box Sakio you would be ready for anyone …..

Rodriguez is ready for the fight. Make it happen. AA is slow and I think Rodriguez can take him. Probably Pavlik too as he hasn’t looked all that great.

I have been on the road following Rodriquez the past 2 1/2 years. He has brawler, he’s now dangerous under Ronnie Shields. In a fight with Abraham, Edwin will win bring power, speed and a hunger that is hard to describe. Come on Dibella…make this fight.

Just because he beat an inexperience fighter the last time he fought ,,does not make him a world beater ,Pavlik would school him and against Abraham he would need to stay away and punch or he would get knock out..

Abraham takes that fight based on how easily Rodriguez got hit last weekend

Its Me, Ernie

He isn’t ready.

The Best!

Its obvious after reading how he would get schooled by pavlik he most likely pulled out from that fihgt and now is challenging the shorter Abraham.
