“Cuban tactics” are much better and legitimate than Mexican tactics…ask De la Hoya, Chavez, Jr, and Margarito and a long list of Aztec cheaters and drug usersPosted February 21, 2014 7:22 pm
A perfect name for Lara. I like that one. American Dream. Lara is the best 154 fighter out there right now. The guy don’t run from no one. If Mayweather jr fight this guy next at 154 then i can respect that man. But when Paul Williams was the Champion at 147, Mayweather jr avoided and duck him. So the thing is Lara fought Paul and it was a great fight, but they give the fight to Paul, in which Lara really won that fight. Lara vs Mayweather jr need to happen next period. Mayweather jr no more cherrypicking fighter like Khan and scarer Canelo to fight. So when Angulo beats Canelo wit a ko then what next Angulo fights Mayweather jr or Mayweather jr fights Lara and don’t run or avoid Lara please. Lara is the man to beat the man so that’s why Floyd jr would not fight THE AMERICAN DREAM LARA.Posted February 21, 2014 4:26 pm
Why are you guys griping over Lara-GGG not happening? Everyone knows Lara is with Showtime and GGG with HBO. The networks only worked together once, Tyson vs Lewis in one of the biggest fights in boxing history. If you think they’d do it for a mid-tier title fight you’re delusional.Posted February 21, 2014 3:51 pm
= HYPE!!!!Posted February 21, 2014 2:55 pm
Always some poor excuse, always ducked by real threats yet available to put bums on their back.Posted February 21, 2014 2:55 pm
Just when is GGG ever gonna fight somebody?Posted February 21, 2014 2:53 pm
Well here is the issue, Floyd has already said he is not a Jr Middle. If you notice all the Jr Middles he faced actually started out at lower weights. Even Canelo used to fight at 147. So Floyd is gonna give up the championship and stay at 147.Posted February 21, 2014 1:04 pm
WELCOME to America, and good luck in your career ! … please be careful here, and don’t let our ‘Liberals’ snag you up !Posted February 21, 2014 12:05 pm
Molina wrestled him and did a good job I think that is the way to beat Lara. I just think he is a bad style match up for Floyd. I dont think Floyd can muscle himPosted February 21, 2014 12:00 pm
Whats funny is nobody acknowledges the fact that Lara was out boxed or out wrestled by Molina and then out boxed from times by Vanes and got a draw though he was coming on and looked to be on his way to a win. But that didn’t happen. But everybody ignores that.Posted February 21, 2014 11:43 am
@ tark- Floyd would rather go through Hell soaked in oil than fight Lara.
its so funny reading people post about Lara. Sommetimes i even wonder if the people who post here even watch boxing. Lara is Mayweathers most dangerous opponent hands down. Outbox a Cuban? do you realize this guy can possiby outbox Floyd? Then what will Floyd do? Will he be able to walk down a full fledged Junior Middleweight who happens to be a southpaw and has good power? I am a big Floyd fan but Lara is probably his hardest test. The fight wont get made though because Lara cant sell 2 tickets thats boxing.Posted February 21, 2014 9:57 am
…. “Lara is the mandatory challenger to face Floyd “Money” Mayweather for his WBA Super Welterweight title.”
LMFAO and ROTF!!!
Floyd would rather go through Hell soaked in oil than fight Lara. It doesn’t MATTER if Lara is the mandatory challenger if Floyd doesn’t want to fight him … Lara better look elsewhere because he’s just too good.
Pacquiao was Floyd’s mandatory at welterweight… That fight didn’t get done either… Something about Floyd dictating who can promote the event.Posted February 21, 2014 1:57 am

Lara is the guy that went to Puerto Rico and beat up a couple of putorican piñata bums in preparation for the real tests….. (mexicans)Posted February 20, 2014 11:43 pm
Who is Lara anyway? he’s desperately seeking to get fans by changing his nick as “American Dream”, sorry dude, nobody is interested of Cuban boxers in USA. Besides he would have zero chance against both Mayweather and GGG. The only thing he could give would be a boring fight where he runs around the ropes the whole night.Posted February 20, 2014 7:18 pm
wonder if this guy is as good as the last great coming. canelo alvarez.Posted February 20, 2014 4:16 pm
ggg continues to duck lara and fight a parade of bumsPosted February 20, 2014 4:05 pm
styles make fights, Lara would embarrass Mayweather in the ring. vs GGG, that would be interesting…Posted February 20, 2014 3:55 pm
Lara is not a dangerous fighter, but he would back pedal the whole fight and it might turn out to be a boring fight.Posted February 20, 2014 3:32 pm
GGG PEOPLE ARE SCARED OF LARA THEY WANT TO CONTINUE THE PARADE OF BUMSPosted February 20, 2014 12:54 pm
GGG team said Lara is not on the approved list of fighters by HBO. lolPosted February 20, 2014 12:49 pm
Thing is, I don’t know that Lara is any American’s dream.Posted February 20, 2014 11:20 am
Great way of getting the immigrant communities behind him as well as endearing himself to Americans.
And it fits, he IS living the American dream.Posted February 20, 2014 7:16 am
I guess he forgot that this communist Cuba has made him who he is.
Lara’s got some demons he needs to clean up before he goes looking at the Mayweathers and Golovkins.
Molina should be the first on his radar (assuming Molina wins his March bout). There’s unfinished business between Molina and Lara, and there’d be a title in the mix. Both fighters are about equal in terms of (lack of) drawing power, so it shouldn’t be a difficult fight to make.
He also has that draw to Martirosyan lingering over him which got made to look even worse after Andrade did what Lara couldn’t. So either a rematch with Martirosyan or a fight with Andrade may also be a good way to go.
Think about it… if he beats both Molina and Andrade, then he holds half of the middleweight title picture (with Mayweather holding the rest).

I heard Danny Garcia is Public Enemy’s lover. Aint he fighting a waiter in Puerco chico?Posted February 19, 2014 11:23 pm
You can SAY that again. The boy STILL hasn’t opened his MOUTH about Lara…..and I predicted that.Posted February 19, 2014 10:32 pm
The fact that Floyd fought for the 154lbs belt and is now vacating it, because he “doesn’t belong” in this weight class establishes what he is, a cherry picker. He has been one all his career, and he will not fight anybody who is posing to great of a risk, which seriously tarnishes his legacy…..SRR is probably turning in his grave because this fa9gete’s name is mentioned in the same sentence as his.Posted February 19, 2014 9:24 pm
Lara was bedeviled by IBF champ “King” Molina who he continues to avoid at all costs; he was fought to a standstill v. Vanes; and Decked for the first and second time in his career v. an Angulo who was already brutally TKO’d by Kirkland and outboxed by “Chillon” Cintron. only the hematoma that blew up on Angulo’s face prevented Lara from collecting another loss. Wtf is all the hype about?!?Posted February 19, 2014 9:23 pm
I think the accusation of Lara thumbing Angulo is bogusPosted February 19, 2014 9:11 pm
Appropriate nickname. Remember what he went through to escape Cuba? He and a couple other Cuban boxers tried to defect while at a tournament in Columbia. The Columbian govt betrayed them and sent them back to Cuba. They were promptly banned from the national boxing team. Eventually Lara and the other guys escaped to Mexico. Now he’s a world titlist in the pros, making US$ instead of being given a bicycle for winning Olympic gold.Posted February 19, 2014 8:40 pm
looks like lara is thumbing angulo in the picture living the american dream but still using cuban tactics to win fightsPosted February 19, 2014 8:19 pm
Lara expresses the same positive feelings that many whom I have met that came from Cuba. it’s refreshing to hear someone say how much they appreciate being in the U.S. Thanks.Posted February 19, 2014 6:48 pm

What is the basis to call Canelo the best at 154? A close win over Trout? Same Trout that struggled to take 2 rounds with Lara.Posted February 19, 2014 5:38 pm
Lara is the obvious fighter to beat floydPosted February 19, 2014 5:29 pm
Lara is the right fight for mayweather at this time.Lara wins easilyPosted February 19, 2014 5:28 pm
lara has clled out ggg 3 times but all ggg wants to do is fight a parade of bums aftert bumPosted February 19, 2014 4:33 pm
Floyd never beat Lara the undisputed jmw champ ha ha.Posted February 19, 2014 4:29 pm
When you BEAT the Top man in the Division you’re the CHAMP. Has nothing to DO with who you WILL or WILL NOT Fight. TO BE the BEST you have to BEAT the BEST and Floyd DID that.Posted February 19, 2014 4:25 pm
He should have already vacated, how can you be a champ in a weight division if there are fighters in the weight class you will not fight because they are too big for youPosted February 19, 2014 4:16 pm
What deepwater1234 said. Unforunately, so very true…Posted February 19, 2014 3:48 pm
Doubt that. Floyd has already stated he was not a Jr Middle and was gonna vacate the championship.Posted February 19, 2014 3:44 pm
Floyd will without hesitation throw that belt right in the can and then wil pay someone to draw a cartoon of him destroying Lara.Posted February 19, 2014 3:40 pm
The reason behind GGG not acknowledging Lara is because they say Lara is not on the approved list of opponents for him to fight on HBO. GGG is not under contract with HBO, it would be good for him to fight on both networks.Posted February 19, 2014 3:36 pm
