Wladimir has 3 losses but the last time WK was beaten was 8 years ago.. He’s working on a 16 fight winning streak.. Ali never had a winning streak that long once he got his first title shot — and Ali finished with 5 defeats …. Vitali also has a longer winning streak at the championship level than Ali ever had. Vitali is 41, has only 2 losses, has never been knocked down, and has never been behind on points… Not things you can say about Ali who was frequently behind on points and knocked down a few times.

Bill (KlichKO brothers are the best REAL HEAVYWEIGHTS ever)

@ali…Get a life Nazi loser. Clay’s REAL record in 200+lbs division is 28-4 (9 ko’s). This featherfisted punchbag woulda been slaughtered nowadays.

Posted September 30, 2012 6:18 pm

@Whiteman in Denial….. You’re only sad because Ali got his ass whipped so comprehensively by unranked, inexperienced Leon Stinks—at a time when Ali was younger than the K Bros… Too bad Ali couldn’t duck those inept swings the intellectually challenged 197-pound neophyte threw—but then Ali was never a masterful defender was he???

Fact is povetkin is the champion. He is unbeatable. Perhaps wlad has a chance thats it. wba champion for a long time

Posted September 30, 2012 3:09 pm

Two things about this article by Smith that immediately betray him as someone who is not on top of things ;
1. He keeps calling Povetkin ” champion ” , when the whole world knows he’s a fake , and 2. he thinks that Povetin would be the agressor and
attack Wlad . Just like Hayes ? Maybe
Smith thinks that The Toe Fairy was
the agressor in that fight as well ? I must have been watching a different
fight , because what I saw was ; The Toe Fairy ; running , flopping and stumbling all night long , desperately trying to avoid a fight with Wlad .
Why do these people feel they have
something worthwhile to contribute ,
while writing such worthless crap ?

well done povetkin destroyed a former champion with a lethal assult. Go for it against wlad

Posted September 30, 2012 1:55 pm

Hey man, you need to catch up. Ali is almost dead and he is obsolete now. Wake up and join the year 2012. You are stuck in the past. WAKE UP!!

Lets us see Povetkin vs Adamek. Good match up in size and both skilled boxers.

Posted September 30, 2012 11:24 am

Povetkin will never fight Wald.

Geeze the guy was nervous just talking about it.

Wald would destroy him!

I like how dan rafael and freddy roach quickly and concisely disparaged the WBA. This organization to me has been theworst. Especially, with the whole chagaev thing and valuev getting a title with no fight then fighting haye. Wlad endedup winning the wba belt twice. And now for povetkkn to call himself a champ. Bullsit. I like povetkin but seriously this behavior is pissing me off. I like the direction he is goin with kostya and I think it might pay dividends. I’m very interested to see what kostya can do with povetkin and if kostya can train fighters. I’m every bit as interested in kostyaat this point as I am povetkin.

Anytime a fighter says “when my promoter says…” doesn’t have the balls to face the opponents he ought to be facing. This includes you, Povetkin.

Posted September 30, 2012 9:35 am

Please stop calling Povetkin a world champion. That’s an insult to my intelligence. He won a paper title thru alphabet organization political BS. He knows he can’t beat the Klitschkos. That’s why he’s not calling them out. It’s sad that he’s ok with masquerading as a champion rather than actually being one. He’s another one of my top ten fighters I can’t wait to see KO’d.

Rahman stunk back in ’03 when he lost on points to Ruiz and, yes, he was horrible in ’08 against W.K.

Posted September 30, 2012 7:58 am

Povetkin wasnt landing many shots clean but you could see the few who landed was rocking the rock badly. Povetkin vs wlad would be interesting, maybe povetkin isnt as fast on his feet he’s still has fast handspeed and mixes it up with combinations. Its a good thing that sicko teddy atlas isnt he’s trainer anymore and he now has tzyu

Posted September 30, 2012 6:26 am

Hasim was walking on his heels and looked like he might fall over on the way to the ring. Totally shot, and he still gets a title shot which is an utter disgrace. Pov can’t punch for toffee as he was teeing off on Haism but could not drop him.

Pulev is the real deal.

Typo: Dehydration.

Posted September 30, 2012 5:46 am

Rahman now blames dhydration on his loss to Pov…. C’mon, gimme a break….

Posted September 30, 2012 5:45 am

Al Pov will never fight the K-Bros. since he knows he’s outta his league there, so he’ll wait until they both retire and leave a huge opening for him. Al Pov will continue to hide in Germany and fight his steady crop of decent heavies who are either still on the green side or gray as a goose. Team Povetkin is a great protection agency for their boy…

Swedish Boxing Fan

This was f#cking dissgracfull to an performance for Hasim “Hasbeen” Rahman. Im not sure of if Rahman was well paid by Povetkin’s people to take a fall or if he decided not to care for fighting becouse he diden’t fight. Alexander Povetkin did not impresse any serius boxing experts or critics with this fight and he is still NO real champion and now even more of a paper champion. This was NOT a boxing match wath-so-ever and Povetkin will never get any credit for this “victory” by more educated fans and Rahman have seriusly hurted his own boxing legacy with this f#cking bad performance. He did not even try to figth Povetkin. Im tired on that Povetkin is a coward for not fighting the real undisputed champion Wladimir Klitschko and Povetkin will get seriusly upbeated by him. This fight should never have happend and how did WBA put Hasim Rahman at Nr.1 spot without have defeated any serius top contender in 4 years?i

This was the most disgraceful fight I’ve ever seen. I believe the Povetkin team wanted another “world champion” on Povetkin’s ring record so the WBA ranked Rahman #1 for some monetary or other consideration. There is no way in Hell a group of analysts came up with Rahman as their #1 contender for any objective reason … However, I’ve seen outrageous mandatory challengers over and over and over again, so it’s nothing new to screw Boxing fans out of their money. EPIX has been getting great ratings with their Boxing shows … and now this dog.

Forget Povetkin. Should be Wlad vs Pulev. Now there’s a fight. Povetkin-Haye for the silly WBA belt

Posted September 30, 2012 12:13 am

I really like Klubrat too. He has some good movement when he wants to utilize it.

Posted September 29, 2012 11:42 pm

Teddy Atlas will let Alpo know when he’s ready. Another twenty fights or so–maybe when he’s older than the guys he fights now.

I am really wanting to see Wlad vs. Pulev. Have the winner fight Povetkin as I have really lost interest in Povetkin.
