TARK, Well.. you do have some valid points. Maybe Canelo isn’t a 154’ber anymore, only he knows for sure, although he did emphatically say and repeated that making 152Lbs for the Floyd fight didn’t affect him and had no bearing in the result. I would like to see what the contracted weight for the Angulo fight will be. My guess it might be no less than 158Lbs, but it’s only a guess, nothing more. Hopefully he won’t pull another one of those Chavez (vs Vera) and Floyd (vs Marquez) moves. I will also say that this is a good fight. Angulo come to give it his all regardless and AINT GOT NOTHING TO LOSE!! Even when he doesn’t win he excites us fan. Let’s hope he doesn’t disappoint us & fights that very same way. I hope he wins, not because I harbor any hate for Canelo, it’s that I’ve been more of an Angulo fan ever since he was an up-coming prospect. Peace to all.

This could be an entertaining fight. But no way is it pay per view worthy. It belongs on Showtime. Golden Boy and Showtime seem to think that Canelo is now a pay per view attraction. Canelo’s last fight did very well on pay per view mainly because he was fighting Mayweather.

@ Gallinas…

No I’m not looking for Canelo to get slaughtered… He’s a good fighter… But he was weight drained against Floyd… I said at the weigh-in he looked parched.. Even Ward said he looked incredibly weak, so I’m not making this stuff up..

Just because he made 152 doesn’t mean he wasn’t hurt by it… He was only able to rehydrate to 165… He barely fought worth a lick and looked really stinky all throughout the fight. He weighed into the ring at 172 for Trout. He didn’t look weight drained but he didn’t look exactly right either. He’s no 154-pounder anymore.

Time to go to 160.. This should be his last fight at 154 unless he wants to kill himself.. He’ll feel a lot stronger if he moves up.

The Facts !

Why all the hate? Canelo vs Angulo is going to be a good fight . When has Angulo been in a bad fight win or lose . Yes i know it should not be on PPV . but neither should the Mayweather vs Khan fight be on PPV . Listen guys Angulo could really test Canelo’s chin in this fight .

@ tark

“…If Canelo doesn’t fight a middleweight contender he’s crazy… He’s not a 154-pounder anymore…”

HES NOT? That’s funny, I thought he just fought Mayweather below that at 152lbs. Not to mention he makes weight ALL THE TIME. Thats odd…Looks to me that you all are just eager to get him slaughtered.

I’m not going to buy it… No one will watch it… Canelo is fighting Angulo because Cotto is getting the Martinez fight… Cotto thinks he has a better chance of beating a gimpy 39-year-old than beating Canelo, so he turned down 10-million.

If Canelo doesn’t fight a middleweight contender he’s crazy… He’s not a 154-pounder anymore… That’s the only thing Angulo has going for him … Canelo might come in weight drained again and do nothing.

Exiled Yank

I can’t believe this is a PPV bout. What a load of crap.

Yes the undercard is very thin. I was disappointed when they first announced it. Not one guy has name recognition, and they’re all smaller weight divisions like bantamweight. Nobody except for hardcore fans care much about those.

The Facts !

Like i said before ,this might be a very good fight . Angulo comes to fight and he can hit pretty good . I would like to find out if Canelo can take a real Jr. middleweights with heavy hands power . Yes i know it’s not PPV material but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to be a good fight .

This “journalist” must be working for some other promotional company. I’m not going to name names… But please buy the Canelo /Angulo ppv! I mean he’s a Mexican ginger! Don’t buy it for the undercard, buy it cause he’s a Mexican ginger! I mean how many Mexican gingers are there that boxes? You don’t wanna miss out on this freak show! So again, I plead you all to buy the ppv.

Canelo is too popular. He has plenty of Gate.

“Canelo fans” will buy this, but any true/real boxing fan won’t….two losers fighting on PPV?? Angulo’s faced was just smashed and Canelo’s coming off of a schooling…pfftttttt. No thanks.

Ghost

Maybe a little thin by GoldenBoy standards, but stacked if this was a Top Rank card. I’m sure GB will add another good fight before its set, maybe Mares vs Gonzales.

Canelo aint that great he’s more hype than anything else. Mayweather made him look like a plodder and thats exactly what he is slow slow slow. Angulo will knock him out.

Canelo is young & talented, but not a PPV head-liner just yet. He needs more quality wins. He got shutout vs Floyd, and Trout almost came back to win that fight.
*All this Maidana vs Broner II talk is all premature. In all honesty, Broner doesn’t deserve a rematch. Pauly M never got a rematch when he lost this very same belt. Broner never faught at 140, and his first fight at 147 is for a title?
Maidana is no fool, and I’m sure no clause (which originally didn’t exisit according to Schaefer’s own words) is going to pressure Maidana into an undeserving rematch.
The NFL drafts #1 picks every year, they have all the talent in the world, yet many don’t succeed. Broner is that bust pick for Golden Boy.

WarZ

Not a PPV material. Possible good fight though. It’s boxing it doesn’t matter if the other guy got knockout in his last fight. Geez so many wanna be experts. That’s why so many good match ups that cannot be made because of this and that. James Kirkland was knockout in his last fight before he fought Angulo. Don’t use mathematical equation when predicting a fight it doesn’t follow that way. Otherwise there would be no more fights since we already know the outcome. 1+1= 2 boxing doesn’t follow that way.

Kirkland needs to be on the card to fight the winner.

BUSTAJAY

This PPV card is not worth the paper the cable bill is printed on for consumers.

Golden Boy needs to put this young lion on PPV already… I think the numbers will be better than most people think.. I mean boxing needs another Golden Boy so I think people will buy it… I know I will!! just sayin’
